In onderschriften mogen woorden zoals ‘hopeloos,' ‘agressief,' ‘crisis' en ‘conflict' worden verwerkt. Andere nuttige woorden zijn ‘genegeerd,' ‘onzichtbaar' of ‘verwaarloosd.' Vergeet niet gebruik te maken van passieve zinnen. Vestig niet te veel aandacht op wie er precies negeert en vergeet, maar impliceer alleen dat dit een permanente en onveranderlijke vloek van de staat is. Doe geen moeite met precisie, accuratesse en analyse. Zorg dat je brede, algemene uitspraken doet over het kwaad dat alomtegenwoordig is binnen de militaire elite en de strijders die je persoonlijk, virtueel of op sociale media tegenkomt. Benoem de buitenlandse belangen, maar benoem niet specifiek de Amerikaanse dollars, Britse ponden, euro's, Riyals en Dirhams die medeplichtig zijn. Steun enkel een boycott, maar doe het indirect. Leg de strategie niet uit. Soedan heeft geen strategie nodig, maar aandacht. Negeer het feit dat zij zelf aan het pleiten, doneren en van de daken aan het schreeuwen zijn sinds de eerste kogels werden afgevuurd (noem vooral kogels die worden afgevuurd, het liefst tijdens je interview, zelfs als het virtueel wordt afgenomen en je je op duizenden kiliometers afstand bevindt). Ga ervan uit dat deze Soedanees niet genoeg heeft geprobeerd om de wereld over de oorlog te vertellen, een oorlog waarvan jij weet dat hij zo verschrikkelijk erg is en waarover je je trots mag voelen dat jij ‘de wereld' erover vertelt. Bied tips aan over hoe ze ‘het bekend kunnen maken', zoals jij hebt gedaan. Jij houdt van Soedan, jij houdt van Afrika; jouw woorden en jouw platform bewijzen hoeveel je erom geeft. Je liberale identiteit is nog steeds vlekkeloos. Wanneer je je steentje hebt bijgedragen, je artikel of je post hebt gepubliceerd, stuur het dan op naar elke Afrikaan die je kent, als blijk van je band met de goede zaak. Wees trots op het feit dat jij niet als andere westerlingen bent; jij geeft hierom. Jij bent niet racistisch. Jij bent anders. Zij zijn dan wel de journalisten in het gebied zelf, die hun leven op het spel hebben gezet om de informatie te verzamelen, maar dat is niet belangrijk. Jouw platform is belangrijk. Jij bent het kanaal waar het Soedanese nieuws doorheen stroomt. Dit is essentieel werk, en je doet het omdat je erom geeft. Él vivía en la pausa que producen los años y  ella en el vértigo de la juventud. Él en la contemplación, ella en la urgencia.Una tarde, Nuri regresó antes de lo habitual. El sol aún no se había escondido del todo, y los corredores de la casa estaban teñidos de un dorado melancólico y el aire tenía ese aroma espeso que traen los secretos que aún no se han descubierto.  Al entrar, fue recibido por su sirviente más antiguo, un hombre que había servido a tres generaciones de la familia. —Señor —dijo con voz baja, como si temiera que las paredes escucharan—. La llave en su mano.y un silencio se apodero de todo el aposento. .Con pasos lentos se acercó al cofre decidido a enfrentar su destino. Y con resolución decidio no abrir aquel cofre que retaba su vida. Pero No por miedo. No por debilidad. Sino porque entendía que hay verdades que, al ser vistas, destruyen más que el engaño mismo.Desde el balcon de su habitación llamo a a cuatro jardineros. Les pidió que trajeran una carreta. Y que con mucho cuidado bajaran el cofre y luego lo llevaran hasta el rincón  más alejado posible de su finca, allí donde los árboles crecían torcidos y la tierra olía a humedad. En ese lugar debían abrir un hoyo lo suficientemente profundo para enterrar aquel cofre que podría llevar su destino. Y así lo hicieron los empleados. Allí lo enterraron. Sin abrirlo. Sin preguntar.
