KEFI Gold and Copper PLC (AIM:KEFI, OTC:KFFLF) executive chairman Harry Anagnostaras-Adams talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about significant developments regarding the company's Tulu Kapi gold project in Ethiopia. Anagnostaras-Adams confirmed the addition of BCM Group as both a syndicate member and the preferred mining contractor for the project. He explained, "BCM was part of the spearhead to make West African mining happen," highlighting the company's strong background in mining across Africa. He noted that BCM's commitment includes a contribution of US$23 million in pre-production costs, meaning KEFI's project development budget is now fully covered. He emphasised, "In essence, we're done," although some final procedural steps remain, such as certifying resettlement costs and finalising formal documentation. Anagnostaras-Adams also addressed KEFI's strategic stance on its Saudi Arabian interests. With financial pressures alleviated by progress at Tulu Kapi, KEFI is no longer compelled to sell its Saudi assets and will focus on optimising its position in that market. Overall, the conversation highlighted that KEFI is transitioning from solving challenges to executing plans at Tulu Kapi, marking a critical inflection point for the company. KEFI Gold and Copper PLC (AIM:KEFI, OTC:KFFLF) executive chairman Harry Anagnostaras-Adams talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest financing progress for the Tulu Kapi Gold Project in Ethiopia. The company has secured commitments from senior lenders, covering two-thirds of the development capital, and is now focused on aligning equity financing to finalise the deal. Anagnostaras-Adams discussed KEFI's efforts to "Ethiopianise" the project, involving local institutional investors through EthioBonds—an investment designed to hedge against currency devaluation. He confirmed that $30 million in expressions of interest have been received, with preparations underway for a listing on Ethiopia's new stock exchange. With gold prices nearing $3,000 per ounce, Anagnostaras-Adams highlighted the strong project economics, noting that Tulu Kapi's first-year production of 160,000oz could generate over $400 million in revenue. He emphasised that free cash flow from early production could potentially repay KEFI's debt. Stay tuned for more updates on KEFI Gold and Copper's developments. KEFI Gold and Copper PLC (AIM:KEFI, OTC:KFFLF) executive chairman Harry Anagnostaras-Adams talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest updates on the Tulu Kapi gold project in Ethiopia. He highlighted that project financing is progressing well, with approvals secured from a second bank, which he called a "critical milestone." The increased proposed bank loan facility, now $240 million from an earlier $190 million, underscores improved project risk ratings and a favourable gold price outlook. This boost reduces the need for additional funding and simplifies KEFI's path to full financing. Anagnostaras-Adams discussed Ethiopia's rapid economic recovery and private sector reforms, which align with KEFI's goal of local investor participation. He noted that private and public sector involvement reflects the shared ownership of the project. "It's great that everybody thinks it's their project," he remarked, showcasing the collaborative spirit behind Tulu Kapi. These developments come at an opportune time as Ethiopia launches its stock exchange and liberalises financial markets. This environment supports local investments in projects like KEFI's, providing investors a hedge against currency fluctuations and inflation. Anagnostaras-Adams expressed optimism, stating, "We haven't had a lot of good luck over the last few years. But at the moment, there's a bit of good luck going on, which is great." Bonus Episode!! On September 13th, 2024, 600 nurses exerted their legally protected right participating in an unfair labor practice strike at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children. The nurses are represented by the Hawaii Nurses Association/OPEIU Local 50 union. This is their second strike this year. The first one was a seven day strike in January. The 9/13/2024 strike was a planned one-day only strike. Despite the short duration, the hospital went to the media (allegedly) to announce their plans to lockout the nurses indefinitely when they attempt to return to work on September 14, 2024. In addition to being an illegal lockout, it has the potential for setting a very dangerous precedent for nurses and unions everywhere. Nurse Jessica and Nurse Erica traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii to support the Kapi'olani nurses. This podcast was recorded on the actual strike line. The hosts share their experiences and what they witnessed. Four of the striking nurses are interviewed and share their individual experiences. Erica and Jessica would like to thank the Kapi'olani nurses and the Hawaii Nurses Association/OPEIU Local 50 for welcoming them. Interested in Sponsoring the Show? In this episode, the Nurses Uncorked podcast discusses the National Nurses Honor Guard with founder, Julia Godby-Murray. The conversation covers the history of the Nurses Honor Guard, the ceremony they perform at funerals, and the emotional impact it has on families and nurses. The funeral ceremony is to honor and pay tribute to nurses who have passed away. It involves wearing the traditional uniform, carrying a lit lamp, reciting a poem, and performing a final call bell for the nurse to be relieved from their service. The Nurses Honor Guard provides a sense of dignity and respect to the nursing profession and offers healing to both families and nurses. Julia also discusses the growth of the Nurses Honor Guard and how interested individuals can find a group in their area. Thank you to our Enema Award Sponsor, Happy Bum Co. GÖKÇEK'İN KATİLİ İÇİN BÜYÜK KAPIŞMA Gökçek ailesinin her türlü kirli işini yapan Ümit Günay için büyük kapışma var. Masaya 10 milyon dolar kondu, arabeskçi Serkan Kaya devreye sokuldu, Osman Gökçek, hakimleri bağladı. Olayın bir boyutunda spor, bir boyutunda Necati Arabacı'nın mekanının basılması, hayatını kaybeden gencecik bir çocuk, ve onun kanı üzerine yapılan anlaşmalar var. Following the foreshore and seabed controversy of the early 2000s the government introduced a system for Māori to make claims to coastal land. However Māori claimants had to prove they had exclusively used and occupied an area from 1840 to the present day without substantial interruption. Last year the court of appeal made a decision that groups only needed to show they had enough control over the area that they could keep others from using it - making it substantially easier for Māori to claim their rightful land. But one year on, the government now wants to overturn this, claiming the decision will affect other New Zealanders rights to the land. I spoke Te Pāti Māori's Mariameno Kapi-Kingi about the government's backwards move and what it means for Māori. We also talked about the recent findings of the Inquiry into Abuse in State Care, and the disproportionate representation of Māori.
