Gladys Santiago was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio of Puerto Rican descent and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Gladys is the first in her family to graduate from college. She is a single parent of proud-blended heritage children. Gladys is the first Latina small business owner when she started Unitivity, Inc. in 2004, In 2009, Gladys was the only Latina CFRE in Ohio (Certified Fundraising Executive International). Gladys' record to-date: $300M+ for over 28 organizations in a variety of industries within Ohio, Illinois, Washington DC, Michigan and Ethiopia! In 2021–2023, she served as the Capital Campaign Consultant for the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development's CentroVilla25 marketplace; Grand Opening 2024. Gladys was the First Latina School Board Member for the Cleveland Municipal School District and its representative on the National Council of Great City Schools. She served 7 years as President of Northeast Ohio National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (NACOPRW) and 2 years as 1st VP in Washington DC. Gladys is also a Gallup CliftonStrengths Trained Coach focused on innate strengths to achieve any goal. Gladys graduate of Landmark Education's Curriculum for Living Program, The Wisdom Global Power & Contribution Program, and The Team, Management and Leadership Communication Program. Gladys served as a Coach for the International Discourse Project and TMLP. In 2010, she earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Managing Innovation - Summa cum Laude from Benedictine University (Illinois). He romanticized the money mindset of the circus folk wrestlers who came from the carnival and independent wrestlers of the 1970s who had to budget wisely based on their meager earnings. Early in his career, he took pride in living on just $3 a day, when necessary. Even today, now that he has found success, he lives and works knowing the importance of saving by spending less than what he earns. Over the past decade, 85 per cent of new businesses in the United States have been started by Latinos, with the women among them being the biggest drivers of that trend. That data comes a study by Zeno Group and the We Are All Human Foundation, and we talk to their founder in this week's episode of the Business Extra podcast.  Claudia Romo Edelman is an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as co-host of the Global Goalscast focused on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Edelman explains to _The National's_ Mustafa Alrawi that part of the reason statistics like the one above could be surprising to business people interested in the American market, is because Hispanic representation in media and politics does not match that of the demographic's economic impact. She hopes to use her platform to change that, and help expand Hispanic representation and inclusion.

In this episode, we share the newly-launched results of the Hispanic Sentiment Survey, showing how Hispanics are the main driver for the middle class in America, and yet underestimate their own contributions.  Latinos are launching more new businesses, achieving higher levels of education, and reaching the C-suite of Fortune 500 companies in greater numbers than ever, but more than three-quarters of Latinos recently surveyed were surprised by at least one of these and other well-documented facts, as reported by the We Are All Human Foundation.
