Original broadcast date February 3, 2022. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2022/02/binary-system-podcast-300-this-time-we-have-a-plan-sort-of/ Happy 300th episode! Holy cow, after 300 episodes of fan art and TV and movies and TV and web comics and podcasts and TV, what should we make the 300th episode about? That's right, this episode is about spoilers! (Kidding. Except not really, because man alive are we going to spoil some plot points on this one.) Listen in as we talk about our favorite episode from just about every TV show that ever ate our brains even a little bit, or at least the ones that we could remember on short notice. What order are they in? No idea! What criteria did we use? None whatsoever! This is just a random selection of shows we've loved where we've picked our favorite episode. Or episodes. Or favorite moments? You know, that one episode in the third or fourth season, with the actor who does that thing? Thank you to everybody who's tuned in. Whether you've listened to 300 episodes or just the one, please enjoy the randomness. This week's outro was a clip from You Can Dance? by Steve Combs. (Which we last used in episode 130 https://pixelatedgeek.com/2018/06/binary-system-podcast-130-wtnv-129-a-matter-of-blood-part-3/ back in 2018, but we liked it so much we wanted to use it again.) Here's the full list of series we mentioned, in case you haven't watched them yet and wanted to avoid some spoilers: Clarification: Nick Offerman is the actor in Devs and we are NEVER going to remember his name! Correction: the music playing during the car chase in the second episode of the final season of Sherlock? Beethoven's Ode to Joy. Correction: there were only three seasons of Legion, the Time Eaters episode was season 3 episode 4. Looking for a present for that hard-to-shop-for person? Want to buy them (or yourself) a square foot of a castle in Scotland? Look no further! You can support the restoration of Dunan's castle, legally call yourself Lady or Laird, AND if you use http://www.scottishlaird.co.uk/#_a_2gk to get there, you can support this podcast too! Original broadcast date June 7, 2018. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2018/06/binary-system-podcast-130-wtnv-129-a-matter-of-blood-part-3/ The Blood Matter From Space is finally here, and the battle between Our Dana and Other Dana is taking place in a literal lake of blood. Not to worry though, all of Cecil's broadcasting equipment floats, so he'll keep broadcasting while sitting atop his radio desk. In a lake of blood. (Wonderful image though. Seriously, fan artists, can someone get on that?) After the recap we talk about how Elizabeth can't get judgey about Kathryn not seeing Infinity War yet, because Elizabeth hasn't seen anything else. (Seriously, our thoughts on Solo and Deadpool will also go up as soon as we actually see them.) Then it's thoughts on Transformers Earth Wars, DC's Dark Nights, Skyward, Saga, and how Wayward Sisters is out but a spinoff of The Originals is in. (A spinoff of a spinoff. CW, can you please stop the Vampire Diaries ride, we'd like to get off.) The outro music this week was a clip from You Can Dance? by Steve Combs. http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Steve_Combs/Speaking_in_Spirals_1809/06_You_Can_Dance We mentioned how we spotted John Warden in the trailer for "The Toys That Made Us," we've interviewed him twice, once in 2016 https://pixelatedgeek.com/2016/08/sdcc-2016-interview-with-hasbro-transformers-generations/ and once in 2017. https://pixelatedgeek.com/2017/08/sdcc-2017-interview-with-the-hasbro-transformers-design-team/ Correction: we wondered in the episode if they'd filmed any of Wayward Sisters, and they did have a "backdoor pilot" within the regular Supernatural Season. More info on CW's decision is here. http://www.tvguide.com/news/the-cw-supernatural-spinoff-wayward-sisters/
Episode Summary Kim Criswell, Broadway and West End star tells us about some of her early auditions to get her equity card, as well as what it was like auditioning for Andrew Lloyd Webber to land the role of Grizabella in Cats. My "Thank You 5” segment is about how memorizing a deck of cards can help you in your acting career. In “Professor’s Corner” this week, three-time Olivier Award winner and Tony nominated choreographer for Mary Poppins, Stephen Mear, gives his advice not only for auditions but for the rehearsal process as well. Intro to this Episode In this episode of “In The Holding Room” we are thrilled to be joined by the amazing Kim Criswell. Kim’s Broadway credits include starring as Lucy, opposite Sting, in The Threepenny Opera directed by John Dexter, and appearing in the original Broadway cast of the 1982 Best Musical Tony winner Nine, first as Francesca, then taking over the leading role of Claudia. Other Broadway original cast credits include The First, Baby and Stardust. On the West Coast, she was the original Grizabella in Cats, singing “Memory” at the Shubert Theatre in Los Angeles, and also appeared as Lalume in Kismet for Opera Pacific. She starred in the original West End productions of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens and The Slow Drag, as well as the revival of Dames At Sea, and as the Mother Abbess in the acclaimed production of The Sound of Music at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Critically acclaimed for playing Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun at London’s Prince of Wales Theatre, for which she earned an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical, and for her role as The Old Lady in Robert Carsen’s productions of Candide at La Scala and the Théâtre du Châtelet, she has also won a Helen Hayes Award for her work in Side by Side by Sondheim. She was most recently seen in the US starring as Sally Adams in Call Me Madam at the Goodspeed Opera House, singing the role of The Old Lady in Candide at Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, and co-starring with Joseph Fiennes and Charles Edwards in Happy Days in the Art World at NYU’s Skirball Center in New York. Recently, she played the Italian opera singer Mrs. Castellari in the feature film Hysteria (2013) opposite Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, and Jonathan Pryce. In “Thank you 5” this week, I talk about a silly game you can play to improve your ability as a performer. This one game will sharpen your mind and help you with imagination, association, and memorization. Stephen Mear C.B.E. is joining us in “Professor’s Corner” this week to offer his advice not only on auditioning, but for the rehearsals process as well. Honorary Doctor of Arts and three-time Olivier Award Winner, Tony Nominated Stephen Mear has been described by the Daily Telegraph as “The old-style master of the modern chorus line.” Stephen’s prolific career has taken him in all directions from musical theater on Broadway and the West End to opera at the ENO, Paris and the Met in New York. Giving you a bonus episode to make up for the delay in getting the part 2 of the True Blue/Who's That Girl tour discussion out to you. This is sort of a "lost episode" with DJ Joey that I wasn't going to release because I was originally not too happy with it. But I've learned on my podcast journey that not everything needs to be perfect and I'm typically someone who embraces the imperfection of others, so it is something I need to embrace in myself as well. Please enjoy this bonus episode for You Can Dance with DJ Joey. Guest Co-Host: DJ Joey IG: @joeyparavati Corrections: Sent by IG: @wietsemarievoet Music Credits: Madonna - Get Together (Bosich Remix) by Victor Bosich
Mark and Kenny dive into all the Dub Versions, homemade singing bootlegs, and the glorious second side of Madonna’s first compilation album, 1987’s magnificent You Can Dance. Dziś zapraszam na rozmowę z fizjoterapeutą, który opuścił nasz kraj mimo iż pracował w You Can Dance, miał szereg swoich pacjentów, a jednak podjął ryzyko i pojechał do Chin. A rozmawiałem z Bartoszem Kotem Fizjoterapeutą z Shanghai Research Institute of Sports Science,

W wieku 21 lat postanowiła pójść na casting do You Can Dance. Dostała się na warsztaty w Hiszpanii, gdzie zmierzyła się z wyzwaniami natury fizycznej jak i psychicznej. Tina podsumowuje, że w Polskiej edycji You Can Dance nie do końca chodzi o taniec a bardziej o wydobycie i zaprezentowanie widzowi emocjonalnych historii uczestników programu.
