Servus and Hello, and a warm welcome to another fantastic edition of my small and fine ESOA podcast. I'm always happy when younger artists play on vinyl, even today. One of them is my guest today and I've been looking forward to it for a while. So I'm all the more pleased that she accepted my invitation straight away. The good lady's name is Dona Volkova, she lives in Prague and you can meet her here from time to time during the day at Gram Records, a record shop in Prague. Hello Dear Friends of Contemporary electronic Music, Once again I say hello and welcome to the ESOA podcast. It was sometime in the Summer of 1997 when I was holding a flyer in one Hand and the Phone in the other - luckily for us, Smartphones didn't exist back then, so it was a nice and simple but well-functioning world - when a voice called out ‘This is Ralph', the co-organiser of the first planned Future Parade in Chemnitz. Better known to many as DJ Saxxon and as the organiser of legendary events such as Acid Inferno, Hakke Inferno or Earquake. He has also been a guest here in the podcast with the number 44. We arranged to meet at a small art fair and festival that was taking place that day. I was allowed to spin a few records and it quickly became clear that we were somehow aiming in the same musical direction, somewhere in the techno and acid area. At the time, we both focussed on names like Robert Armani or Misjah in our sets. We both played at the aforementioned Future Parade and in the near future we met up in the rehearsal room for afternoons together at the legendary Kunstfabrik Glösa in Chemnitz As a result, we were often part of the DJ team in Clubs such as Achtermai, Brixen, Triebwerk and Seilfabrik between 1998 and 2005 under the name Pro Techno Team. The nice thing is that we never let the sometimes adverse conditions in terms of miserable technology spoil our mood. We both still enjoy DJing today and who knows, maybe one day in the near future we'll get back to those old days together and enjoy all the Juhuu yells from back then. Enough of the words, here is ESOA Podcast number 082 with the Pro Techno Team for 4 hours. Have fun and Switch all up ! to the Future of good Original Techno Music. Hello friends of classical electronic music, welcome to ESOA podcast number 80 this month, with M.R.K.R. as our guest. M.R.K.R. began his musical journey in the Amiga mod scene, where he adopted his Artist name, which later evolved into its current form. He had his first gigs at Zoom, a central venue of the Chemnitz techno scene, where he came into contact with Saxxon, which led to gigs at the Kunstfabrik. He joined the group 36dx and performed at illegal parties until he finally ended up at the renowned club Achtermai. At Achtermai, M.R.K.R. worked on projects such as the K.I. project. However, he decided to perform solo again. This allowed him to fulfil his desire to follow his own creative path. After a long creative break, he returned to the electronic music scene in 2023 with the release of Acid Inferno 2k23. Remastered tracks from 1999 and three new releases followed in 2024. Further projects are already planned for 2025. His clear goal: to make music that leaves a mark without submitting to the compromises of a ‘brand'. His roots in the Chemnitz scene, especially the club culture of the 90s, have left a lasting impression on him and are reflected in his work. Friends, enjoy ESOA podcast number 80 exclusively from M.R.K.R.. Friends, welcome to the next edition of the ESOA Podcast. With my guest today, the name definitely says it all, especially when it comes to his musical contribution to us. But this should not be seen as a monologue, because his roots and his spectrum are definitely wider and more broadly structured. His roots are located somewhere in the area of Depeche Mode and Anne Clark. As far as his own work is concerned, it can't be pigeonholed. On the surface you might think he's all about techno, acid, electronica or drum & bass, but in depth he experiments with software or hardware in both the old school and the future. From danceable hard, industrial to playful electro and ambient. He is a Musician, Producer, Liveact and DJ. Comes also from Dresden like my Guest before. Fortunately, he fulfils my wish with a classic acid set for us here. Friends, look forward to the next two hours of the finest acid sound. Here is ESOA Podcast 076 by Clemens Acidus. Guys, welcome back here on ESOA Podcast. My guest this week lives in Dresden, is a DJ, is a producer and for me is clearly behind the legendary club ‘Strasse E' to which even DJ Rush dedicated his own track at some point. So my guest today is Clark B. He started out in the early 90s as DJ X somewhere in the hardcore and gabba scene, but later changed his mind and discovered trance and techno for himself. At the end of the 90s, he came to house music, a clear change in musical style at the latest. As a result, he specialised somewhere around house and techno and changed his name from then on to ‘Clark B', which he still uses today. Some people, like me, remember events at the legendary Club Strasse E with names like Claude Young, Alan Oldham or DJ Rush. Clark B was behind all of these from 1999 to 2004. He has remained true to the sound to this day and was therefore prepared to record an exclusive and classic mix for us here: Friends here is ESOA Podcast 075 by Clark B. Have a great time. Welcome back guys, here on ESOA Podcast. Unfortunately, once again my guest for this episode cancelled just before the end. This immediately inspired me to record a musical special for you. I decided on a Chicago House and Techno special. Alongside Detroit, Chicago is clearly an important cornerstone. Without it, techno and house would not exist in their current form. Think about the impact that tracks like Move your Body or Acid Tracks still have today. Frankie Knuckles began playing early electronic productions back in 1977 in the then newly opened, rather run-down but well-equipped Warehouse club. A sound that continued to develop into later house and techno, with great, unforgotten names such as Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard, Adonis, Tyree Cooper, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Frankie Knuckles, Steve "Silk" Hurley, DJ Pierre, Phuture, Mike Dunn, K-Alexi Bad Boy Bill, "Fast" Eddie Smith, Ron Hardy and Derrick Carter made history. The sound was released on labels such as DJ International, Dance Mania, Jack Trax, Underground Records and Trax Records. Friends, let this sound inspire you for the next two and a half hours. Have fun with ESOA Podcast 072 by myself, Thomas Schubert. Thanks for tuning in. Here we go again, ESOA Podcast number 65 this week. It's time for some breaks. After the last Shows with many House and Techno, I think we need more Breakbeats, here is it and my Guest this week Is a Special i think, Bassface Sasha! For me definitifly and for the German Drum'n Bass Szene absolutly is this man, a Pioneer. He started out in the 80s in the techno scene that was breaking through at the time. Under names like Absurd, Hypnopedia, New Scene, Duce and Fazer, he was actively involved in techno and acid. In 91, he and his partner Holger Klein from the Mannheim club Milk helped to spread Jungle and Drum'n Bass. That was the spark that started him on his way to becoming, in my opinion, the leading Drum'n Bass and Jungle DJ in this country. A year later in 92, he played the first Jungle set at Mayday. This was followed by a residency at Frankfurt's XS Club and from then on numerous appearances at very well-known major events such as One Nation, Kings of the Jungle, Meditation or the Love Parade. Other notable building blocks of his musical career are his show Reload on Evosonic, Outbreak on HR XXL or Clubnight on You FM. He also made several guest appearances on MTV and VIVA. As early as 94, he founded his own label Smoking Drum Recordings where he mainly presented German newcomers and was awarded the title of best German drum'n bass label in 1997 after only 20 releases. He himself received the award for best national producer and DJ. In 2006, '07 and '08, he continued to hold his own as best German DJ at the Future Music Awards. Here are a few words about his own releases his first LP Different Faces released in 99 on Mole Listening Pearls, Machine Vs. Smokin' Drum - Round One with the Perfect Day remix and his, as he himself says, biggest success Track International Sound on the English label Stereotype in 2008. That's another long intro, but clearly with a lot of history for a milestone, if you will. That's why I'm all the more pleased to be able to present it here in my small and fine show. Friends here is ESOA Podcast Number 065 by Bassface Sascha. The second person mentioned here, Kay Bösewetter, had his first contact with a live audience at a student party. This was followed by several co-organised events. Founding of the platform Soundagenten - Chemnitz in 2004 and a residency at the former Club Ndorphin from 2008 to 2014. Afterwards, the Freakbox was created as a retreat for techno fans. The first time in issue 34 as Chris Wayfarer, with the cool jazzy house sound under that name, I present him to you today under his old drum & bass ego Mr. Lettuce. Drum & Bass itself has a very broad spectrum as a completely separate category in the electronic music genre, but Christian classifies his sound somewhere in Liquid DnB towards deeper sound. I would also like to mention his release in 2021 on the label C Recordings, the link for which can be found below. I am very happy that he took the time for ESOA Podcast for a second time. Greetings friends to another edition of ESOA Podcast. We have reached December and this is the last edition of ESOA Podcast. Don't worry, just for this year ! In the meantime, and yes, it's already issue 55. And with that we come to today's guest who I've been looking forward to for a long time, Enny One ! Enny One is a lovable personality that you can't miss since the beginning of the 90s. He is as much a part of the East German techno scene as a 1200 Technics in the DJ booth. He got himself one of these as soon as he had the chance in 1989. Before that, he experimented with tapes and played at youth and school discos. From then on, he organised the first acid parties in Chemnitz and could then also be heard beyond the region, for example in the Fabrik Dresden or in the Distillery in Leipzig. From '93 onwards, he was a salesman at the Delirium Recordstore in Chemnitz. In 1995 he had his first own shop called "Vann Vibes" and at that time he was also a resident in legendary clubs like Kraftwerk, Zoom or the Voxxx, and he was no less involved in the legendary Lager 43 "Warehouse" parties in Chemnitz. In 1996 he founded his own label S.H.A.C.K. Limited. After a serious car accident in 2000 and an unfortunately longer break, he came back after a good 2 years with a house set in the Europe-wide known club Achtermai where he clearly acted as a resident in the future. You met him again at countless events as a DJ, but also as a welcome guest with whom you can meet again and again and simply philosophise about electronic music. In the recent past, his participation in Beatconnect or It's your House must be mentioned. As you can see, he was always there, never really gone until 2000, and I think he will always be there in the future. And if he's not around, I'm sure there will always be a good word to say about him and his important contribution to the scene. Thank you dear Enny One! Friends this is ESOA Podcast 055 mixed by Enny One A big thank you to all my guests and of course to the listeners of this podcast in 2022. And one thing right from the start, it's going to be groovier, housier, deeper. Deep in the sense of classic. A music nerd, a connoisseur, even a friend. His first buying record was "Westbam's - Celebration Generation". For me, however, he has always been a collector and provider of good old Acid House stories, which is clearly also the reason why I invited him here with an exclusive guest contribution. Since 2003, you can hear his sets from time to time in various Chemnitz venues like ZV Bunker, Ndorphin or elektronische Unikate on the radio. But he has also made it further beyond the city limits to the Palazzo Venice or the one or other Italian open air. More recently, his appearances at Resonance events have been in strong statement. He runs his own record press in Brandenburg, collects everything from Mojuba Records and likes to hang out with the Low Spirit family. And that, I think, says it all. Now let's let his music talking. Hello friends, Welcome to 2022, happy new year and welcome back to the ESOA Podcast. After the last episodes were rather easy and relaxed, today we want to turn it up a notch and start the new year with a clear and forward momentum. And for this I have chosen a dear old friend and musical companion. After a long wait on my part, he was finally ready to present his musical statement here. All those who are involved in the scene in Central Germany or better Saxony know him as a DJ, as a friend at so many parties in the past years since the mid-nineties and of course as a Creator of countless and formative party formats that have always left their mark on the scene. Names like Acid Loops, Acid Inferne, Hakke Inferno, Earquake or Zündfunke originate from his creation and by now everyone should know the name of my guest today. That's right! Ralf Kadler aka Saxxon is my guest today. His sound has always stood for fundamental techno and that in all its forms, never monotonous, always inspiring and driving forward. Old scool Techno, Indusrial, Rave and Hardcore have always described his sets. Above all this, however, he always favours acid techno with heart and love. And of course you can hear that in his exclusive set today. Friends, this is ESOA Podcast 044 by Saxxon. Ok friends of the night, the second year in a row in an incredibly difficult and seemingly extremely unstable time is very soon coming to an end. And thus also one in which nightlife seems to be emotionally lost to us. So today, more than ever, it is important to hold on to every little spark of culture. After a short euphoria in the last few weeks when some clubs started to reopen their doors, they now have to close again, which doesn't make the situation any better. That's why I'm personally glad that so many are continuing on their way and tirelessly keeping the roots and the shoots of our musical culture alive, and I'm personally grateful to everyone for that. Only together can we continue to shape the future musically. And since we're on the subject of culture, let's move on to today's guest, although there are actually two of them again. On the one hand, Andy Vaz, whose unbelievably fantastic and deep sound forms the basis of today's guest DJ set, is supported by Andreas Pasternack, who also enhances the whole thing in a great way with his saxophone. For me, Andy is one of the great music makers in Germany. Now living in Cologne, he started his musical career in the nineties from Düsseldorf. Since '98 he has been personally responsible for several labels and all of them are characterised by deep and minimal techno and house sound. Starting with "Background Records" which released 50 releases between 98 and 2006, featuring a wide variety of great artists, including Akufen, Sutekh, Jan Jelinek, Terrence Dixon and many more. In '99 he founded the sub-label "A Touch of Class", which was known for deep house. From 2000 to 2002 came the short-lived sub-label "Deep Night Essentials" which was known more for minimal techno. And since 2007 he has been running "Yore Records" together with "Alessandro Vaccaro", which is still active today and focuses more on house music by artists such as Rick Wade, Chez Damier, Patrice Scott or Alton Miller. Since 2001 he has already toured 7 times in Japan and performed for the Goethe Institute in numerous Indian cities.  Andreas Pasternack is a jazz musician, entertainer, singer and composer. He has performed in Poland, Belgium, Japan and the USA. He creates his own weekly radio show on NDR 1 Radio MV. And so I feel really honoured that he is giving this ESOA podcast edition with Andy Vaz a cultural first class upgrade.     Ok, so I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Friends, this is ESOA Podcast 043 by Andy Vaz b2b Andreas Pasternack.  Enjoy listening to this edition. Thank you for your tireless interest on the ESOA Podcast format. Good evening friends, welcome to the podcast of various electronic arts back here at the "ESOA Podcast". Today with a great artist from Iceland, Ohm is my guest today. And once again I'm very happy about that, because this is another exceptional artist who can look back on a long musical history. He has been active since the 90s and can therefore look back on a lot of creativity not only as a DJ but also as a producer. First success came very quickly in the course of his debut, which he released in collaboration with another Icelandic legend EXOS on one of the most inspiring techno labels of the past, here we are talking about "Force Inc". Over the years, many more releases piled up on renowned labels such as Thule Records, Rawax, Kontakt, Solid Groove, Taped Artifact, Ranges, Vade mecum , Vuo records and AE Recordings, as well as AE recordings Ltd, which he runs together with Octal Industries and Thor from Thule Records. Currently he also runs his own label "OHM Series". Ohm now lives in Copenhagen and plays the "Culture Box" here quite often, but you can also see and hear him play all over Europe, if not all over the world. He also runs two shows on the online platform Timeline Musik where he presents Danish artists on the one hand and promos from his friends on the other. He himself calls his sound tried and tested and visionary, and I'm happy to let that stand. For me he is clearly an artist of Dub Techno. Ok here is ESOA podcast number 041 by OHM. Ok friends, Greetings back to the small but mighty ESOA Podcast. This time again with a nice advancing techno set. Let's give a warm welcome to today's guest "Jakop Risp". Jakop is one of the few who is committed to bringing a little subculture to the Oberfranken town of Bamberg. Since 2012, he has been known here in Bamberg in the right place, namely behind the DJ booth. And that's a good thing, because in all of his sets he always has a good sense for a good choice of music, determined for the dance floor. In the beginning, if you like, he was a fix part in the "Rausch Kollektiv" and therefore often in the "Sound'n Arts", a former destination in the underground and heart of Bamberg. Later it went on in the circle of the "Hausvorlesung" and that until today under which name also the one or other event took place. Notable gigs were "Rakete - Nürnberg, Airport - Würzburg, Rosis Berlin or the Cross Club in Prague. Ok friends enough talking, here is ESOA Podcast 038 by Jakop Risp for you. Hello ESOA Family, I'm glad you clicked in again for the 37th episode of the ESOA Podcast. Today we have some nice light, classic and groovy techno stuff somewhere between Berlin, Detroit and Montreal. The guest who honours us today is, once again, a good old companion from old club nights of mine. His name is K. fog. After initially investing all his money in countless record purchases, he has now been living with and for the Chemnitz club scene since 1998 and has of course been able to draw a large circle around it over the years. At the latest since the releases of his productions, the first release in 2005 on a F.O.E.M compilation, he has consolidated his status as a music nerd. In 2006, he released his first record on Uran 97, which was followed by further releases on Ranges, 2 Bit Crew and Funkenflug, among others. His biggest self-proclaimed gigs were at the Fusion Festival 2014 or Nation of Gondwana 2017. Today you can find him mainly in the circle of "Beatconnect and the Spinnerei Chemnitz Crew". Ok people let's listen to his fine exclusive set here on ESOA podcast number 37. Thanks again to my listeners, have fun with K fog, see you next time.
