Episode 73: Keyon Harrold. Everywhere I turn, I see Keyon Harrold. He's widely regarded as one of the greatest trumpeters alive today, pushing the new jazz generation forward with power and soul. His solo album Foreverland was GRAMMY-nominated this year for Best Alternative Jazz Album, and his resume is stacked — Jay-Z, Common, Erykah Badu, Diana Ross, Mac Miller, Robert Glasper, the Count Basie Orchestra, Terrace Martin — and he played all the trumpet parts in the Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead. Keyon is a dear friend and an incredible human being. He drops so much wisdom in this episode and truly inspired me with his words. I hope you enjoy my conversation with the great Keyon Harrold. ‘Go with Elmo Lovano' is a weekly podcast where Elmo interviews creatives and entrepreneurs in music on HOW they push forward every day, got where they are in their careers, manage their personal lives, and share lessons learned and their most important insights. Will the market pause around $70/lb or is this simply a profit taking ledge on a steep climb upwards?Kazatomprom has announced their 2025 production plan. We examine the specifics of their announcement, the profit taking that followed and answer what it really means. We have a tie this week between 92 Energy & Constellation Energy for Winner of the Week - watch to find out why, and also discuss Bungle of the week from South Korea where data has shown their nuclear phase out policy generated near $7 billion loss from the delayed commissioning of the two units at the Shin-Hanul plant alone. Fortunately, the industrious South Koreans have already redeemed themselves as the current government aims to nurture 60 nuclear exporters. We attempt to answer "what does it mean for uranium now that France is pulling out of Niger?"And also cover SPUT's contemplation of a limited redemption mechanism and whether that will have a significant impact on uranium market fundamentals: could it really open the uranium floodgates? Will we see utilities buying uranium directly from SPUT, instead of producers? Learn more: https://cruxinvestor.com

Then we pull up the charts for Copper, Trigon Metals, and Lithium. Uranium continues to shoot higher. SPUT is trading at a premium now, hopefully some purchases to follow. URA, URNM, & URNJ are all getting really stretched to the upside. Deep Yellow broke a key trendline. UEC and GLO are getting stretched as well. Oil keeps climbing, collect your dividends. If Spot market is $56.50, Ricks says term market is $60. 70% of the sales are done on the term market now. That's an additional 5.8% discount for 70% of the bet. 5.8(.70) = 4.1%. So, 11.75 + 4.1 = 15.85% Uranium in the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust are at a 15.85% discount to true market value. In a commodity that is overwhelmingly likely to increase in price. This is a screaming deal! We go on to talk about gold in a liquidity crisis. Rick outlines the Platinum Market, and the reasons he is betting on platinum. Not to worry, this is what we call an "accumulation period." Uranium is still selling at a discount to NAV on SPUT. Platinum fundamentals are looking even stronger with the quarterly report from WPIC (World Platinum Investment Council). Bigger deficits in platinum are on the horizon, making this bet even more likely to hit. Read Platinum Report Here.   The time frame on Bonds has been pushed out a bit with Jerome Powell's recent speech. Tom welcomes back Brandon Munro, CEO of Bannerman Energy, to discuss the increasing activity in the uranium space. Brandon believes it is a good time to invest in uranium equities, as it is a defensive asset. The closing of nuclear plants had been a misguided idea, however, the world has now recognized this error. Reactors still require fuel, yet the current supply deficit means that what is available is being used up, and secondary sources are also declining. Further, utilities have used up a large portion of their own supplies. There has been a fundamental shift in the public's perception of nuclear power; if people approach it with an open mind, they should be able to recognize it as the answer. It has taken some time for this attitude to become acceptable in politics, yet it is now changing quickly. Countries like France are beginning to recognize it as the future of their economy. Governments are now prioritizing funding of nuclear energy, as it helps energy companies cover the costs of capital, thus reducing the risks of constructing new plants. This is in spite of the fact that shale gas is very inexpensive, and there are numerous subsidies for renewable energy sources. However, rising energy costs and various issues with renewables have made new construction in the United States more practical. Nuclear power is also appealing in terms of energy security, as countries can stockpile their own uranium reserves and thus ensure a secure energy source for whatever time frame they desire. In the markets that matter today, the attitude towards nuclear energy has improved drastically, and the industry is now looking for ways to meet the coming demands. Russia is the primary global enricher of nuclear fuel, thus leading to potential political implications. Plans to impose sanctions on Russian nuclear fuel by 2026 are in place. The excess mobile inventory has mostly been bought up by the Sprott Trust, and the world needs around $80 uranium to bring new mines and restart old ones. Few new projects can come online any time soon. Tom welcomes back Justin Huhn to discuss everything uranium related. The recently passed Inflation Reduction Act does have some provisions that will be beneficial for the Nuclear industry. It includes some tax credits which should help keep existing reactors operational for longer. Some nuclear projects are aging and have higher overhead at times. Maintenance costs may get covered by this bill. Justin explains the benefits of pricing transparency that the Sprott SPUT ETF has brought to the market. In addition, they've helped buy up the excess inventory. He believes SPUT is going to outperform again as institutional buyers have been accumulating. There have been logistical problems with deliveries from Kazakhstan due to supply route problems around Russia. Everything is experiencing a rising cost of doing business, including uranium production and enrichment. This will inevitably lead to higher prices for uranium. Japan is still cautiously restarting reactors to ensure their safety. It's a slow process, but the public is coming around to the idea and local governments are generally supporting it. There has been a decade of under-investment in nuclear within France. They've had maintenance problems and the current fleet is running at fifty percent. They are a large exporter of energy, but there are some concerns about what will happen this winter. Hopefully, they can bring more power back online. They have also had issues with drought and water is needed to keep reactors cool. Nuclear is clearly showing that it's a reliable form of energy. We're not sure what is happening in Germany, as electrical prices remain at record levels. Russia doesn't want a nuclear accident in Ukraine, but they want control of that massive nuclear plant. It provides twenty-five percent of Ukraine's grid. While there are concerns about the potential for sabotage, these are very reinforced structures and shouldn't be vulnerable. All markets are slow this time of year and this has spilled over to fuel buying. He explains why the market should improve later in the fall. The uranium market is bifurcating into East and West. This could provide an impetus to extend the length of the bull market. He believes it may only be a matter of weeks before the next big leg-up in uranium. Justin discusss Cameco's recent conference call where they announced the restart of the MacArthur River Mine. Cameco stated that they have signed supply contracts for 70 million pounds of uranium. Overall this should be a postive sign for the market and may indicate a major change in contract demand. It will take Cameco up to two years to once again reach full production. Sprott's entrance to the market last year with SPUT had a tremendous impact on the spot market. Current long-term prices are around $43 a pound but little insight can be garnered from contracts as they are shrouded in NDA's. All the different parts of the fuel cycle appear to be in a bull trend. Sprott intends to maintain the stockpile of uranium as a way to give investors expose to the uranium market. Sprott is also working to takeover the UNM ETF in an upcoming vote. This will allow Sprott to have a large influence in the uranium markets. The market for small modular reactors is largely an unknown but overall it appers to be a positive development. The first SMR in North America may come online by 2027. Many countries are building them including Russia. Sentiment has improved somewhat in uranium markets but remains fairly low. At the moment there is a lot of fear and doubt across the investment space which is spilling over into uranium. Tom welcomes Brandon Munro, CEO of Bannerman Energy to discuss the increasing activity in the uranium space. He explains how his background as a lawyer gave him a peek inside of mergers during the last uranium boom. He's a regular speaker at the World Nuclear Association and co-chairs a panel called the Nuclear Fuel Demand Working Group. They put together an annual report that includes forecasting future global fuel demand. This gives him keen insight into the sector. In late April Sprott Asset Management decided to acquire Uranium Participation Corp. This sector has functioned without effective price discovery for many years. Sprott is rapidly changing how the market operates. Sprott's SPUT has been buying uranium and they are acheiving price discovery. They are pulling in additional inventory and price is now appreciating due to the limited supply. He explains the advantages that Sprotts Fund brings to the uranium market creating a virtuous cycle. SPUT was able to raise a lot of funds very quickly and this has attracted other players to the markets including the utilities. Other investors are starting to take notice. SPUT will likely have a needed disruptive effect on the sector. He outlines some possible scenarios for the sector as a result. Should the broader investment market become attracted to the space it could do very well. Brandon discusses the prices that will be necessary to bring on additional mines and production. Most projects will need significantly higher pricing than where we are at now. Today, that's likely to be the eighty dollar range. There was a very sound thesis for investing in uranium before Sprott's takeover of Uranium Participation Corporation. Sprott is a monster in the resource space and they are buying physical pounds. Over the last three weeks, SPUT has bought nearly five million pounds of uranium moving the market from $32 to $40. It's likely they will have trouble sourcing supply as they will have bought most of the available above-ground supply. Sprott has stated that they will not be selling but instead holding long-term. They want to create an extremely liquid vehicle that will attract large investors. Sprott's transparency is fantastic as they update their numbers on a daily basis. They've also established an excellent presence on Twitter which is great for uranium investors. Uranium supply is quite inelastic and it takes considerable time for additional production. If you are interested in a highly speculative fervor of a market this may be the place for you. There is some concern of pushback from utilities due to the rising price which could affect Sprott's ability to be listed in the United States. However, Sprott should be able to overcome any objections. Utilities aren't keeping up with the markets in the same way as investors. They just have a calendar date when they need to secure supply. It may be difficult for utilities to negotiate contract terms if the price is moving rapidly. Aktualitātes komentē politologs, Ārpolitikas institūta asociētais pētnieks Veiko Spolītis, NATO Stratēģiskās komunikācijas izcilības centra vadītājs Jānis Sārts un žurnālists Madis Muust no Igaunijas. Igaunija atgriežas pie striktiem ierobežojumiem No 11.marta Igaunijā ieviesti vēl striktāki ierobežojumi nekā pagājušajās pāris nedēļās noteiktie, un tie mūsu kaimiņvalstī būs spēkā vismaz mēnesi. Tā Igaunijas valdībai nākas reaģēt uz straujo koronavīrusa infekcijas gadījumu pieaugumu kopš februāra nogales. 24. februārī diennaktī fiksēto inficēšanās gadījumu skaits pirmoreiz pārsniedza tūkstoti un kopš tā laika turpināja pieaugt, 6. martā sasniedzot līdz šim augstāko līmeni – 1540 gadījumus diennaktī. Pagājušās nedēļas beigās veselības aprūpes eksperti ziņoja, ka situācija Igaunijas slimnīcās, sevišķi Tallinā un valsts ziemeļdaļā, tuvojoties kritiskai gultasvietu trūkuma robežai. Nacionālā raidorganizācija vakar publiskojusi Igaunijas Veselības padomes vadītāja Illara Lanno sacīto, ka, saglabājoties šādam saslimstības tempam, tikai dažas dienas šķir Igaunijas veselības sistēmu no augstākā līmeņa ārkārtas situācijas izsludināšanas. Drāma Britu karaļnamā Gandrīz pusotru stundu garā intervija, kuru amerikāņu telesabiedrības CBS sarunu šova vadītājai Oprai Vinfrijai pagājušās nedēļas nogalē sniedza Saseksas hercogpāris – princis Harijs un Megana Mārkla –, bija pirmā, kopš laulātie draugi atteicās no Britu karaļnama locekļu funkcijām un pameta Lielbritāniju. Taisnības labad jāsaka, ka dažas no britu laikrakstu publikācijām, kuras pēc CBS intervijas no jauna aktualizētas, patiešām rada mērķtiecīgi veidotas negācijas iespaidu.

To gan lielā mērā nodrošināja armijas pastāvīga iejaukšanās politikā ar regulāriem militāriem apvērsumiem, pēdējais no kuriem izbeidza kārtējo nestabilās demokrātijas periodu 2014. gadā.

“For me, when I hear something I see a colour.” Kaz Rodriguez is an English drummer whose hard work over the years has resulted in a lot of mega opportunities these last couple of years. He is touring with Josh Groban, performing clinics worldwide, and he writes his own music. His drumless tracks have been a huge hit in the international scene with drummers like Sput, Chris Coleman, Aaron Spears, Tony Royster, Ricky Lewis and the list goes on. His philosophy regarding the drumless music is to share it with the drumming community so that drummers can put their sound to his music. So, there is one thing I should point out in particular about Kaz that is incredibly unique. He has a condition called synesthesia. Basically, in layman's terms, he hears colours. He doesn’t read music but instead memorizes music with the colours he hears.  Kaz endorses Tama, Zildjian, Remo, LP Percussion and Roland.   You Will Hear About…. How Josh Groban saw Kaz on Drumeo and hired him. Kaz’s experience so far touring with Josh Groban. How Kaz came to realize that pop session gigs weren’t enough for him. Kaz’s friendship with Aaron Spears and how grateful he is for that. The importance of giving back and how Kaz’s music was meant for that. Synesthesia. The aftermath after Kaz was stabbed. Kaz’s decision to discontinue studying architecture for music.   Why Should You Listen? Kaz projects so much positivity. His spirit for music and giving back to the drumming community is quite exceptional and his take on gratitude is a great reminder for every drummer out there. Getting a chance to hear his process with how he understands music is also incredibly interesting.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1rYSLqWqoM   Kaz’s Socials Instagram Facebook Twitter Website   Follow ‘Drumeo Gab’ Instagram Facebook

Episode 015 of *The Upful LIFE Podcast* features the one and only EDDIE ROBERTS, guitarist/founder of New Mastersounds, and more recently, of Matador! Soul Sounds. Eddie is also one of four men at the helm of Color Red, a record label/brand based out of Denver, Colorado. For well over 20 years, Eddie has been an omnipresent force in the jazz/jam/funk scenes from the UK to the Bay Area and all points between. During a mid-February three night stand at Boom Boom Room in SF (with The Eddie/Logic Project, and his own Eddie Roberts' West Coast Sounds), Eddie made himself available for a long-form interview at the exquisite Queen Anne Hotel in San Francisco.   EDDIE ROBERTS INTERVIEW STARTS AT 16 MINS    We start out talking about his charity organization Eddie Roberts' Payback, which was initially created to help the plethora of suffering people in the Tenderloin neighborhood of his former home in SF. He explains how the org continues to do the good work in his new residence (of four years) in Denver, CO. However, Eddie's roots are in Leeds, England, and he briefly takes us back to his youth, when he was originally a pianist, before he became infatuated with electric guitar and at 10 years old he begged his parents for an axe. Eddie grew up idolizing Jimi Hendrix and then really fell hard for the late jazz guitar great Grant Green. ENTER COLOR RED's NEW MASTERSOUNDS CONTEST & WIN A 7" 'Shake It' PRIZE BUNDLE A favorite of mine as well, Grant Green gives Eddie and I an opportunity for a short detour about the legendary guitarist, and how Eddie arrived at the tremendous tribute show he has often put together to honor Green. From there we go back across the pond to Eddie's early days tailor-making bands and DJ nights in Leeds, and the earliest incarnation of his band, The Mastersounds. He riffs on his organ trio The Three Deuces, before explaining how he put together The New Mastersounds around 1999. We talk a little bit about “Acid Jazz” as a bad word, and the scene in England where Eddie Roberts style truly took root. Other topics include when the Greyboy Allstars visited England in 1995, and when The New Mastersounds returned the favor ten years later in Chicago. Analog recording techniques and the low-fi vibe, why Eddie's records sound so authentic, plus the origins of the “shitty is pretty” aesthetic. Roberts reaches back for some humorous memories of Bear Creek in the early days, and explains his original idea and vision for the Suwannee Rising festival that took place earlier this month.     I had to get the scoop on the Color Red label, as Eddie details the humble beginnings of the brand, and a little about his partners, including Sunsquabi bassist Josh Fairman. From studio equipment to musical connections, brand recognition and art-design continuity, Eddie expounds about why they are not exclusive to Colorado artists. Also a bit on the importance of making original music and why Color Red pays attention to remix culture. We also had to rap about the magnificent Matador! Soul Sounds project with Alan Evans, Chris Spies, Kim Dawson, Adryon de Leon, and Kevin Scott. How that band took shape, with regard to Soulive's Evans and the pair of singers, as well as what's on the Matador docket moving forward. I would be remiss if I didn't ask Eddie about his penchant for fashion. We are talking about a sharp dressed man here. Naturally, I had to find out what was at the root of Eddie Roberts' patented look, and just give him some props for always carrying it with dignity, class, and panache. Unfortunately I had to go to work this particular afternoon, and that (plus some technical difficulties) caused me to cut the interview a little shorter than I'd like, but we left a lot on the table for a sequel. Thank you kindly, Eddie Roberts, for this enjoyable chat! JAZZ FEST AFTER DARK Preview (1hr 11mins)   A very brief rundown of some of the hottest night shows in town, as we approach this year's musical Mecca. This is my blessed 17th year heading down to the Jazz Fest, and I thought it would be beneficial to offer a few options for folks on the proverbial fence about which gigs to hit after they leave the Fairgrounds, or on the days between. This preview is STRICTLY AFTER-DARK OPTIONS! And only a few suggestions, there's plenty more I do not have the time to touch on. Check it ALL out at Jazz Fest Grids. Ghost-Note checks in at 1hr 35min Photo- Jeffrey Dupuis   Backstage at the inaugural Suwannee Rising festival at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, I was lucky to snag a few minutes with Robert "Sput" Searight and Nate Werth of Ghost-Note, and both formerly of Snarky Puppy. These GRAMMY-Award winners have embarked on a serious new endeavor with Ghost-Note, so it was only appropriate to catch them at SOSMP, where I was first introduced to Snarky Puppy at Bear Creek nearly a decade ago. Sput & Nate were both amped to return to the music park, but even more stoked on NOLA Jazz Fest and their huge SWAGISM show on second Saturday at One Eyed Jack's. So for about twenty minutes, we retraced the making of their album in NOLA, and then they set the proverbial table for what's to come next week in the Crescent City. Attempting to define the kind of music Ghost Note plays, would be near impossible. They are a jazz hybrid that play funk, r&b, soul, hip-hop and yes, they rock. Started by Snarky Puppy’s drummer Robert “Sput” Searight and percussionist Nate Werth. Rather than just telling you about this band that has complete blown my mind, we got in touch with Sput to talk about the Ghost Note Project. For more on Ghost Note check out Ghost-Note-Official.com. Robert "Sput" Searight already had a full career as a professional musical before joining Snarky Puppy by playing with Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, and Celine Dion. The Grammy Award winning drummer talks about how he transitioned from keyboardist to drummer while sidestepping a lot of pitfalls that can wreck a musician's path.  He speaks about not only trying to make great music but using it to combat the failings of popular music... and we also had to ask, "How did you get your nickname?"
