Welcome to my podcast! I’m Nimi Mehta, and most people in Dubai know me as one half of the Breakfast Show on Channel 4 FM. However, between hosting on the radio, my live appearances and my career goals I’m also a daughter, sister, friend and now... a wife! To make sense of all this I decided to do w…

It's awkward. There's no way to better describe it. In this episode, we break down the stigma of 'borrowing' or 'lending' money to people close to you; I give you some useful tips that have helped my experiences and relationships. Share & Subscribe Now!
I don't have many memories. Now I know why. 'Dissociation is a disruption in the integrated functions of consciousness, memory, identity, and perception'. It's something I have experienced in my past. Most don't realise it, but at some point in their life they have too. I share it all with you in this episode. I'm back baby! In this episode I share with you the battle I have with my own mind when it comes to ending cycles with people and things I've got way too comfortable with; even if they're no good for me. We're all guilty of it. There's no right or wrong - but I hope these steps help, because they definitely helped me!
In this episode, I answer your questions. The topic of bullying, emotional abuse and mental abuse took over. I share my personal experiences as a child and as an adult. It's so important for us to recognise WHY people say or do certain things towards you; nothing brings you greater peace than knowing most of the time it's not about you. This episode was completely unplanned. I knew I was feeling emotional, and didn't know where it would go, but it brought me here. I dive into my past relationships, specifically my FIRST LOVE - and unravel with you the past patterns and behaviours that have positively and negatively shaped me into who I am. Ask yourself the question: 'Who can I be my most vulnerable with?' and see where it takes you. I hope it takes you on a path of discovery and self-improvement like it has me! Share & Subscribe! In this episode, I had something else planned. But life moments led me to speak about this. A topic which is frustrating for so many women out there. I break it all down, what it means in my life, what it means as a generation and why I won't allow the pressure to get to me. SHARE & SUBSCRIBE! You can follow me: @THENIMIMEHTA
This episode explores my journey with culture and acceptance. So many of us are stuck between two worlds and trying to figure out which one we belong in. How about neither and we just create our own?! Share & Subscribe!!! DM + Follow: @thenimimehta
In this episode, I explore my recent relationship with self-discovery. I take time to acknowledge who I used to be, and who I'm proud to be now. How important self-awareness is, along with the language we use about ourselves, for us to figure out who we are and what we want. It's a never-ending journey but one I'm happy to have started! This episode is a serious moment of reflection. Something we should ALL make sure we do. I wanted to focus on the changes I've made over the craziest year of our lives, and what I've learnt about myself, professionally and personally. Follow: @THENIMIMEHTA
I'm finally back with Season TWO! So much has happened this year that in true Nimi style I had to blurt it all out and share it with you. After 11 years together, 4 years long distance, 1 year married, my husband is finally moving to Dubai and we're living together. I'm FREAKING OUT! This episode shows you how badly...
In this episode I spoke with an old friend of mine, James Asquith. At age 24, he got the World Record for the youngest man in the world to travel to all 196 countries in the world, he's an author, an ex-investment banker and the CEO of Holiday Swap. I wanted to find out how someone has achieved what we all wish we could do - travel around the world for a living. We get into James' humble beginnings, how he caught the travel bug and how investment banking shaped his outlook on what he didn't want to become. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
I speak to John Lee - a CEO Entrepreneur, International Speaker, Best Selling Author, Husband and Father. From a student cutting vegetables in his parents' Chinese restaurant, to becoming a self-made millionaire by the age of 27. John Lee is a true Entrepreneur. In this episode John speaks about his tough experience in academics, a strict traditional upbringing, advice to anyone wanting to become their own boss but not sure where to start, and how making your lifestyle a priority alongside your hustle is 100% possible.
Corona virus has meant all my live speaking events are cancelled. The one event I’m really sad to miss out on is a talk for school children trying to get into media. My team and I had already done the prep work for this talk and it seemed a shame to miss it, so we put the answers together and wanted to share it with you on the show today. We’ll also be sending this to as many people we know that are staying at home in the coming weeks. If you’ve been thinking about getting into the media industry, hopefully this will give you a head start.
While scrolling through my notes the other day, I came across an old article that I had written when I had just turned 25, I was a freelancer (unemployed) and was approached by a brand to write about my success. Not feeling like I had been that successful, I wrote about how I thought I would feel if I had been. Now looking back on it, I realised I faked it until I became it.
If you could use all of the lessons and knowledge that you'd gained throughout your life to give advice to your teenage self, what would you say? In this episode, I get incredibly deep about my insecurities growing up, whether I've become the person I wanted to be, and what incidents in life have truly scarred me. Keeping everything legit.
My girls and I have a group chat on WhatsApp called Selfish Season, where we pour our hearts out and discuss all things in our world, and how we should practice self care. In this episode, we brought our group chat to the podcast, where we all sat around a table and answered questions about navigating friendships, how important your soul tribe is, and how to deal with toxic people. It's the season to be selfish.
To celebrate Valentine's Day I've brought my most requested guest onto the podcast, my husband! For this episode, I asked my team to leave us to record on our own so that we could get deeper and more personal than usual. We discuss how we've survived a long-distance marriage, how we deal with trust and jealousy, and how our support for one another is the reason we're such a good partnership.
I sat down with Dr. Michael Apa, a leading face in the world of dentistry. Through hard work and social media, he's managed to build a multi-million dollar empire and made going to the dentist sexy. We discussed how important it is to have a mentor, someone that you can draw inspiration from, and how our real selves, and the ones we show to the world are not always the same. If you're an introvert, you'll want to listen to this one.
This episode is a throwback to when JJ and I sat down with Lilly Singh at Sharjah International Bookfair in 2018! This interview with Lilly was so incredible that I thought I needed to share it with you all. We spoke about leading the way for women in media roles, paving a path on YouTube for Indian women, and saying what you mean without saying it mean. This one is pretty legit.
I often get asked a lot of questions on socials about my day to day life, my job, and why I ended up in the UAE! So for this episode, I set up a story asking for all your questions, and answered absolutely everything that you all wanted to know about me!
Episode 10, we made it! This episode is a little different than usual. I got the opportunity to host the stage at Sharjah International Book Fair with Steve Harvey. Steve drops some absolute gems on how to create success by surrounding yourself with the right people, focusing on what you love, and believing in yourself above all. To all of my listeners, thank you so much for coming along this journey of the first ten episodes with me - can't wait to bring you more!
I sat down with Dr. Paul Nassif, Leading Plastic Surgeon, Entrepreneur and TV Star. We discussed the pros and cons of plastic surgery. How the new craze of filtering your face on social media has created the desire for perfection. And how important your psychological state is before making any decisions to go under the knife.
I finally get to introduce one of the most important people in my life, my sister, to my podcast. In this episode, we tried something different with a blind Q&A session. We found ourselves getting deep about our relationship, unapologetically honest on how long-distance has affected us and how as grown women, we really feel about each other.
JJ Thompson, my co-host on the UAE Breakfast Show on Channel 4, and I sat down with Gary Vee. We discussed the relationship between happiness and success, how important sleep and productivity is, and my biggest fear in life.
I sat down with Steve Madden and spoke to him about how his need to survive ended up revolutionizing the shoe industry. We spoke about the entrepreneurial spirit in everyone and how the closest individuals to you become your inspiration.
I sat down with Mark Manson. We spoke about how he transitioned from blogger to a number-one best selling author, cutting out empty information calories from your internet diet, and learning how to love pain.
I sat down with the incredible Liza Koshy. We spoke about how to be your authentic self; embracing every aspect of who you are no matter what, and remaining true to your story. We bonded over not shaving our legs properly, and being long lost Indian sisters. I hope my first podcast with a guest makes you feel like you're there, chatting with us.
I'm finally married. Two weeks have passed. I've come down from the most wonderful festival of love and I've started reflecting. I feel like a new person. So now I guess the "new" Nimi Mehta is back in Dubai. But my Husband is not. There's been a curveball and it looks like he won't be able to live with me (full time) for the first year of our marriage. It's nothing bad, but I do need to talk it through with you guys. Long distance isn't easy. By listening to this, you're really hearing my mind adjust. It's quite a high to ride alone. This one is extra legit.
So I FINALLY got my head around this podcast. Literally, I was pumped and ready to do a better job with ep 2 than ep 1, then my Mum called, and we got an update on the lost wedding jewelry... let's just say, it got real. Thus "Crying is the new sleeping" took over my podcast. We spent a lot of time talking about the ups and downs associated with crying. Odd one, but hit me up with your thoughts, @thenimimehta on Instagram.
I'm getting married in a week. I'm heading from Dubai to London to Mykonos to see my family in 24 hours. This point in my life is so monumental. I can feel a major shift coming my way on so many levels. Right now I'm Nimi Mehta, National Radio host of the Channel 4 Breakfast Show broadcasting across the UAE. By next week, I'll be Nimi Mehta, a wife. I'll be surrounded by sisters, brothers, parents, in-laws, friends and loved ones. I have no idea what I'm doing. My suitcase is still in my cupboard. And my Mum may have lost my Indian wedding jewelry. Perfect time to start a podcast I guess.
