No one wanted to come back and watch the finale of The Muppets Mayhem with us. That doesn't mean anything, does it? It does. It means we lose our way into Two And A Half Men, The Fast And The Furious, directing extras, Morphine (the band), Snake Eyes (the G.I. Joe) and... Ernest P. Worrell? It also means this show is over and maybe that's not as much of a relief as you and all of our guests thought it would be.
The Muppets are the perfect antidote to the bummer inducing we imposed on our guest Denzel Belin last time he was with us for My So-Called Life. Unless of course, those Muppets are too busy with their phones so the show has to be about humans and their dumb self-centered relationship concerns.

Hilary's son boils the Muppets down to their essential elements and they (and you and we) will never be the same.

Canada's Got Talent (CGT) is back! I am honored to welcome host Lindsay Ell to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Lindsay Ell is one of country music's most celebrated female voices. Forbes lauded her as “one of the most exciting and talented young artists.” She has two Canadian number-one singles (“Criminal” and “Want Me Back”) and a US number one platinum status single alongside Brantley Gilbert (“What Happens in A Small Town”). In 2022, she joined CGT, working with the judges Howie Mandel, Trish Stratus, Kardinal Offishall, and Lilly Singh. So far on the show, she selected singers Anica and Jeanick Fournier to be her Golden Buzzer acts. While Anica made it to the semifinals in 2023, Jeanick won the 2022 competition and competed on NBC's America's Got Talent: All-Stars in 2023. Lindsay Ell received a 2023 Canadian Screen Award nominee in the Best Host or Presenter – Factual or Reality/Competition category. She also has been nominated for three ACM Awards, two CMT Awards, a CMA Award, a JUNO Award, and 18 CCMA Awards. Her Gold single, “wAnt me back,” led to the execution of her first Canadian headlining tour and allowed her to share the stage with her childhood idol, Shania Twain, at Boots & Hearts, Canada's biggest country music festival. During several US and Canadian stops on her Queen of Me Tour, she rejoined the “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” performer. When not hosting CGT or releasing new music, Lindsay funds the Make You Movement, a charitable fund that focuses on disenfranchised youth and survivors of sexual trauma and domestic abuse. In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Lindsay Ell previewed CGT's “Million Dollar Season” and the new Golden Buzzer twist.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jake-s-take-with-jacob-elyachar--4112003/support.

From YouTube to late night to actor to writer, Lilly Singh has always been a storyteller. In that vein, she started a company called Unicorn Island Productions a few years ago. The company has both a production arm and a nonprofit arm, which is Unicorn Island Fund. Singh told us that the company's mandate is simple. It's making stories that look like the real world. That means making stories that highlight underrepresented voices—which, more and more that's becoming South Asian voices—and ensuring that women are at the center of the stories. The company recently released a kids' animated series called The Mindful Adventures of Unicorn Island. The series comprises a quick 10 episodes that teach kids one mindfulness exercise each episode. And they're free on YouTube. "And it's so meaningful to me because [. . .] it's kind of like a love letter to younger Lilly, because in my adult life, meditation and mindfulness and mental health are so important. But admittedly, when I was younger, I knew nothing about this. It was never discussed in school or at home. If kids could learn how to meditate and regulate their emotions . . . just know that feeling things is okay and how to deal with that and how to reconcile that, that would be amazing." Our first ever live podcast recording took place earlier this week, and boy was it fun. We were so thrilled and honored to have multi-hyphenate extraordinaire Lilly Singh join us on stage in front of an audience at The Wrap Power Women Summit. We discuss Lilly's journey with mental health, how she's looking to change culture, and de-weaponize shame. She's a major advocate for girls and women and wants you all to know, yes, she does, in fact, have an agenda. We discuss how important it is to fail in finding who you're meant to become. We answer some audience questions, do our typical rapid fire. Oh, and, of course, we get into some of her beauty favorites. Let's just say she has A+ hair. We hope you love this episode as much as we do. Thank you The Wrap and Lilly for everything you're doing. Lilly Singh's TED Talk criticizes the world for its sexist, racist, and otherwise unfair views and blames these views for the failure of her show. Unfortunately for Lilly, the reason her show was canceled is actually because she's painfully unfunny. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
