Probably the most controversial topic of all - Money.Jules & Mary discuss another common struggle we face as Pacific Islanders and that is juggling our culture with money.- Should we have to pay for being born?- Is it okay to ONLY give what we can?- Is it okay to go into debt because we have to support our family's cultural obligations? i.e. fa'alavelave's- Is it okay for early retirement for our parents?- Is it okay for children to be the source of income for our parents?- Are the demands of money, setting our children up for failure?There are high depression and suicide rates with our Pasefika youth. Is money the cause of it?So many questions, but it is forbidden to ask these aloud. Whether everyone agrees or disagrees, Jules & Mary are breaking that cycle and normalising these conversations. Let's open our hearts and our minds to at least talk about these issues in the hopes that all generations can come to understanding.
