Podcast from a group of friends in Tempe, Arizona. Topics will be random.
And they're back. Back in the House of Mirrors, where the conversation begins with a serious analysis of how Godwin's Law applies to Permission to Podcast. The gang naturally progresses from there to Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Separation and of course, Game of Thrones, which leads to the question of watching nudity with your friend's wife. Before it's all they cover the NBA Finals, iWatches, and lessons learned in driving school. The night is wrapped up with a lively discussion about extreme selfies and how to brake that fall - Stop! Hammer Time!
The Gang is back and broadcasting from the Cave of Thrones. The conversation starts with Gil's account of his showdown at a local burger joint, Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born are re-reviewd, and Belia relates her adventures on a cruise to Mexico. The evening wraps up with another Marco story and a horrowing tale of being served. Don't answer the door!
For the second week in a row, the gang is back, this week joined by the always elusive Sicilian Mushroom. The show starts with a shout out to their sponsor Marco in the form of a story about his exploits. From there they launch right into the current hot topic R. Kelly. Of course this leads to a discussion of the Jussie Smollet incident. The conversation then gets heated when this leads to MAGA, fake news, and the Left v the Right. Tempers calm for a bit when talk turns to what it really means to be Middle Class - until Gil gets excited, explaining his loathing for Best Picture nominee Bohemian Rhapsody. Any way the wind blows...
The Permission to Podcast gang is back. Returning to the House of Mirrors, they cover such topics as Marco's Boy Scout days, the current state of emergency, and the sad revelation that one of them has a closet smoking habit. They even get a surprise call from a familiar voice to weigh in.
After two months since the last episode, the gang reunites at The House of Mirrors, where gifts are shared along with a new commercial and mammaries of Vegas. Talk soon turns from plans for a spring trip to current events and finally the recent mid- term elections, where we quickly learn that those in the studio (except perhaps one) have no idea what the difference between public, private, and charter school is. Do you?
The Core Four were down to three, now they're down to two as Gil has decided to become a Friend of the Pod. Tonight, the Core Two are down to one as Al decided to stay home (maybe because, like the drummer from Def Leppar, he only has one arm). So, Ron was joined by Gil and Belia at his house (Whose house?), where things got started with a lively discussion about the outlawing of straws. They progress from there to a favorite topic of the pod, the current state of the Union, specifically all the news about our President (it HAS been a long time). The conversation progresses from there to elevators or stairs, behavioral units, and Seinfeld. Another podcast full of drama, intrigue, and drunk talk. Welcome to the next chapter of Permission to Podcast...

With Al out of town, Gil and Ron take the show on the road and podcast from Final Round, joined by Belia and Steph. They begin innocently enough with Steph describing her search for employment and her confession that she name dropped to get a job. The conversation then turns to Steph's new local watering hole and her and Belia's escapades in Notth Scottsdale, which eventually leads to the revelation that their realtionship may be perceived as more intimate than they're comfortable with. Eventually, the gang is joined by Joe, who made it possible to use Final Round as a venue, and chat briefly about politics and political correctness. The conversation then wraps up with fashion talk with Belia, and Steph attempting to revoke permission...
Ron and Gil meet up with Belia and Stephanie (referred to as Stelia going forward) at the house of mirrors. We start the show talking about Stephanie's arrival to Phoenix (from Chicago) and what she likes and dislikes. We then talk about how to get a good haircut and Stelia talk about their drive and how horrible it was. We switch over to discussing how different men and women rate the opposite sex and how people can’t be a train-hopping hobo anymore (somebody tell Albert). We then switch the conversation onto the future of the podcast and discuss the finer points about editing the podcast. Afterwards, we review Stephanie's future job prospects. The atmosphere turns more somber when Stelia share a #MeToo moment at a party they attended. After we take a few phone calls, our crew is able to quickly get the victim on the phone to share the terrifying details. We then talk about people who eat smelly food at work and end the show with some final thoughts about our new friend of the pod, Stephanie, and how we are going to find a job for her.
Once again in The Cave of Thrones the Core Three welcome Belia and very special guest and notorious White Whale Palermo. The show begins with a discussion of Palermo's love of Betty Page, but then jumps quickly to his views on the detainment issue south of the border, the continuing soap opera that is Gil's and Belia's mom's life, and Palermo's return to the single life. Eventually, the conversation comes full circle before fading out on another classic debate: abortion.
Once again, the Core Three are at the Cave of Thrones, discussing why they didn't podcast last week. In a word: drunk. In five words: drunk at The Iron Maidens. From here the talk turns to kids in cages, which then degenerates into a disagreement over whether the US should be in the business of building walls. Which eventually leads to talk about Dennis Rodman making the Trump - Un summit possible, who could talk Al and Gil down from a tower and B-52 respectively, and finally fascist liberals. But the burning question this week? How old IS Ron anyway?
The core group is back in the cave of thrones. We start the show discussing the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding a religious baker not wanting to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. This leads us to a discussion about the "No Shirt No Shoes No Service". We then discuss President Trump considering legalizing weed and he can pardon people who are abuse by the police. We switch to talking about the recent discovering that methane was discovered on Mars but what does that mean? Also, we talk about the media obsession with the whereabouts of Melania Trump which creates an opportunity to rank-order the first ladies based on hotness. We also talk about the changes to the Miss America pageant, championship sports teams not wanting to attend the White House, and then we revisit police brutality. Finally, we talk about a documentary called "The Final Year" that follows the Obama administration through the last 12 months and how he handled the anniversary of the U.S. dropping the A-bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Then we review the "Solo" movie and social justice segments in more recent Star Wars movie. We end the show with a discussion on the NBA Finals with Lebron's Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Kevin Durant's Golden State Warriors and how Dennis Rodman can be an ambassador to other nations.
The Core Three are back in action and in The Cave of Thrones. After two weeks the gang has plenty to talk about. Starting with the obvious Rosanne debacle they move on to legalized gambling, Donald Trump news, Gil's new business idea that turns out not to be all that new, and Donald Rump news. They finally round the show out with movie reviews and a deadpool update in an episode that has more endings than Return of the King.
The Core Three broadcast from The Cave of Thrones this week, where Gil and Belia tell of their mother's sketchy birthday dinner before the conversation turns to the Correspondence Dinner Controversy, the untimely death of Vern Troyer, and another tale of Kanye West's mouth run amok. They follow that up with the problem with Apu, a discussion about fathers, and the concept of catfishing, which someone or something clearly doesn't want Belia to research...
The Core Three kick off this week's episode at The House of Mirrors with another rumination on the lurking fear and seeming danger of AZ Mills Mall then jump right into Round 3 of the Red for Ed debate. They then switch gears to food allergies, stinky coworkers, and the revelation of Belia's "disgusting" work habit, before downshifting to a more somber ending. But how long can they really maintain a serious tone?
This week the Core Three are back in a newly remodeled (For the better?) Cave of Thrones. With it being 4/20 the boys and Belia jump right in to the meaning of "420" and the new bill introduced to legalize MJ on a Federal Level. The four then jump into a discussion about the newly thawed Korean relations and Round 2 of the Red for Ed debate. They finish up with coverage of a T Mobile controversy, an airline tragedy, and a Starbuck's crime story. Too soon?
Gil and Ron are back at Belia's, but without Al as he had birthday obligations. In a twist, Gil takes a seat in the Guest Chair this week. Thankfully he came with an agenda: Phoenix Suns basketball, the return of Roseanne, and the fallacy of Facebook privacy. The gang then explores the Red for Ed movement, Molly Ringwald's latest literary endeavor, and Gil's favorite topic, The Notebook. Hopefully you have plenty of Kleenex...
The Core Three are back, this time recording at The Funhouse with Belia. E-Steve calls in, not to revoke permission, but to grant it, and in the process gives a shout out to his wife of 16 years and explains how the Chicken Dance ultimately led to Gil, Al, and Belia moving to the Phoenix area. From there the gang talks about the various conspiracies and cabals surrounding the automated Uber gone rogue, whether anyone should disclose their private life for a job, and the concept of paying adult actresses for silence. Hush...
The core 3 is back plus friend-of-the-pod Belia! We jump right in and discuss the recent very-well hosted, edited, and produced non-Gil podcast. We then jump into a review of the recent movie "Black Panther" and ponder whether race played a part in the rapidity of the making of the movie and its release. The conversation switches to why anyone would own a dog given all the inherent problems and Al describes what his dog, Negan, brings to the table. We then talk about the high number of feral cats in our neighborhood and how we deal with them. We then jump to a recent cross-over that James Harden did to Wesley Johnson in a recent NBA game and talk about how embarrassing it was. The friend-of-the-pod eSteve calls in afterwards to discuss various topics including the previous non-Gil podcast, an update from Tucson, and if public-sector labor union membership should be forced on all employees. We then talk about a comedy duo at our local renaissance festival one of which may be Albert’s doppelganger. The conversation then changes to remembering TV shows Three's Company, Seinfeld, and others. We end the show describing how Belia recently decided to invest in herself, why guys should avoid growing bitch-tits, and review some movies that are nominated for Oscars.
And then there were two. With Gil on sabbatical and a podcast world full of haters, with the help of Belia and Red, Al and Ron fight the power and podcast anyway. The show starts right off with Belia's terrifying tale of a blind date gone wrong. Red shares her troubles just making it to The Cave of Thrones. And Al brings it all home by demonstrating how to definitively pick up girls AND he solves the gun control conundrum, all in the space of 10 minutes...
The crew is back after a month absence. We jump right in and talk about what we have been up to. We then talk about the Super Bowl and recent political news. Afterwards, we discuss the recent school shooting in Florida and talk about how to reduce the frequency of these types of events. Marco from E. C. then calls in to give his point of view on school shootings and the Super Bowl. Ron then describes how he plans to podcast by himself if no ones can podcast in the future (No one believes him). Marco then describes the time he got mugged while working in Chicago. We then describe our fantasy scenes where we bang the cable woman, maid, or cleaning lady. We then switch the conversation to movies we would like to see and discuss the upcoming movie "Black Panther". We end the show with a discussion about the author of movie reviews, the future of podcasting, and what are the minimum requirements to podcast.
The Core Three are back in The Cave this week where Gil announces that The Core will now drop to two, as he's leaving the show. Sort of. Disgusted at the quality of the editing, Gil decides he will not be on the show unless he's going to edit it. Belia joins the boys in The Cave and Marco calls in to weigh in on the subject. But Gil's departure is not the only topic covered. With Marco on the line, Al questions his workout supplements; everybody ponders the idea of Oprah for President (RPGs anyone?); and a debate is held over Al's Deadpool victory. The episode finishes with a brief discussion about hang up etiquette and Gil's reiteration that for him, this mayhaps be the end...
The group is back, with a call-in from Ron, and with two guests: Tucson Steve and White-Whale Steve. We start the show discussing our recent Christmas experiences. Once Ron calls in, we jump into a review of the new Star Wars movie - The Last Jedi - and talk about logical flaws and the worst moments in the latest installment in the franchise. Afterwards, we talk about the number of houses that have Christmas lights and how that can be an economic indicator but it does not account for lazy people. Then Belia and her friend call in and she explains how she got tied-up at the bar and cannot make it to our podcast. Gil then describes a hypothesis about the existence of super heroes but it gets shot down. Then Albert floats a hypothesis about how they are killing of old white men. By who? Them and they know because they are doing the killing. This leads to a discussion about the new iPhone X and if any new features are truly innovative after the death of Steve Jobs. Albert, then, describes a future plan he has to regress (or progress?) into owning just a flip phone and giving up his smart phone. We then talk about Alexa, the voice from Amazon’s Echo products, and how it (she) is always listening... and then we get into a conversation about Big Brother and how a small spyware program called the Weather Bug infected our early computers. We end the show with a bit of Trump talk, how the Electoral College is kind of weird, being woke, and finally we speculate on who will run against Trump in the next election.
For the first time in several weeks, The Three Wise Men are back in The Cave of Thrones. Marco calls in and helps them celebrate Christmas by discussing (the year's hottest topic) sexual harassment, Trump bashing, and Star Wars. They wrap up the show by sharing their holiday plans and wishing all a Merry Christmas!
This week the core three sit down once again at Belia's, this time joined by Belia's friend Steph. The show starts with Gil explaining the rules of podcasting, which apparently, are almost the same as the rules of Fight Club. The talk then turns to porn suicides, #metoo, and of course sexual harassment. Finally, the conversation concludes with a continuation of the classic debate over life with fathers and prenatal vitamins. But it's too late when Gil realizes he has one more topic.
This week Red joins the core three for an in depth discussion about sexual harassment that's given permission right out of the gate. Matt Lauer, double standards, and workplace advancements dominate the harassment conversation for most of the show, until Al takes a pause to give Marco a birthday shout out, after which Al's truck, Gil's credit card and the WNBA round out the conversation.
This week Albert and Gil begin the show while waiting for Belia to arrive. We start discussing the newest sexual harassment revelations this week. We then talk about the new season of Walking Dead and why is it going to take 18 months until the final season of Game of Thrones airs. We then discuss why Ron is not on the podcast this week and where he is instead. Afterwards, we talk briefly about the shows Westworld and Mindhunter before we dig into the movie Split directed by M. Night Shamalama ding-dong. Albert then describes how he got turned on by a recent SNL host named Tiffany Haddish then Belia shows up (podcast miracle). With Belia, we discuss sexual harassment given her female perspective specifically in the healthcare environment. We also talk about how nurses and doctors handle body parts and sexual organs while in the hospital without getting aroused. We end the show discussing the differences between salary and hourly jobs and how to know when your job is getting outsourced.
(Gil-Edited Podcast Special) The core 3 are back plus guest of the pod, Belia. This week, we do something different and podcast from the backyard. After some initial chit-chat about the new iPhone X and Christmas upstaging the Thanksgiving holiday, we get into all the sexual harassment/assault charges levied towards Hollywood's finest. We then talk about the troubles of podcasting outside, Hoosier tendencies, and then Gil recounts a recent story where his car battery died at work and he replaced it himself. We then talk about the discovery and release of the "Paradise Papers" that shows how people (Trump, Queen Elizabeth, Bono, etc.) evade paying taxes. We then discuss the recent church shooting in Texas, the new Walking Dead season, and the second season of Stranger Things. We then discuss the recent attack on Rand Paul while he mowed his lawn. We end the show with an announcement that Gil will edit this week's podcast to show he still has it!
The power trio is back in The Cave of Thrones this week, reminiscing about Vegas, doing movie reviews, and covering a few current events, all without obtaining permission. Ron obsesses about the true meaning of Ragnarok, which leads to a discussion about Halloween costumes, where to trick-or-treat, and the stunning fact that there are people out there who give out full sized candy bars (WTF?!?). After a brief debate on which is the best candy for Halloween the fellas cover how anyone can run over people for just $19.95, what the difference is between fainting and farting, and Lou Diamond Phillips's cross country car chase Smokey and the Bandit style.
With Al unavailable, Gil and Ron journey to Belia's house to podcast. The show starts with the guys' ongoing debate about how soon the episodes should be published. In the course of the debate, the show receives not one but two "surprise" call in guests to weigh in on the subject. Topics then range from Columbus/Indigenous Peoples/Coming Out Day to the Titanic Data Set to football kneeling (yes, again). Belia describes her adventures in podcast editing and speed dating, Gil puts forth and attempts to defend his Hot Chick Hypothesis, and Ron gets the last laugh when the guests side with him...
While attending a house party at Al's, Gil and Ron sneak into The Cave of Thrones to record a podcast. Joining them is fourth time guest, zero time listener Belia. They begin by trying miserably to emulate Theodor Geisel, but conclude that all TV is a spin off of Happy Days. Belia regales with tales of drunken flights, while Al makes a surprise appearance to prove that he is The Drunken Master...
This week's episode begins with Gil espousing the merits of Bob Dylan, "the voice of his generation", which immediately leads to a debate about: the veracity of that particular moniker, Dylan's role as an artist (musician, poet, or drug induced nonsense maker), and why he isn't protesting now. And talk of protest leads down another hole with discussion of concert protest, the NFL protest, and role of the President as (big) mouthpiece. Marco calls in and the gang renews the conversation about whether boxing is a sport since it's judged (it's not), which leads to the centuries old discourse, is ANY physical contest a sport if it's judged (no), or is it just a beauty pageant (yes). From here topics range from subliminal dicks to Nazi punching to Pink Floyd. But the last word is given to the voice of his generation and Gil...
This week the gang decides to take the show on the road and broadcast from one of the locations of our unofficial sponsor, Four Peaks. Red joins the boys again this week with her crew in tow, Jen and Tess. Topics range from check cashing shenanigans that Al may or may not have been a part of, to how boxing is rigged, to another looming Armageddon. The only thing not mentioned is a shout out to Murf and the people that totally hooked us up at Peaks - thanks guys!
The boys are joined by Red, Jen, and Tess, and the fun starts immediately as Al explains who in America has the right to free speech. Gil tries to get Jen to open up about all the sex that goes on in a cult, when the conversation runs right off the compound as Jen details one of the most unique dick pic scenarios ever recorded. This of course leads to discussions about dick pic etiquette: when is the appropriate time, what's going on in the background, and should your dick be in costume? The show ends with a rousing testimonial about how Red is going to be the next YouTube sensation - perhaps unintentionally...
Landmark Episode 50 comes and goes without so much as a mention. Permission isn't even asked for this week as the podcast kicks off with a returning guest, a new guest, and a returning regular. Belia returns to the podcast to ask the age old, often asked "What is this podcast about?" and doesn't really get an answer. New guest Jen joins us to explain how she came to Arizona via Texas by escaping Season Seven of American Horror Story. And returning guest Red takes the empty chair to invoke the ghost of BDR. Along the way we discuss Belia's new job, Ron's lack of publishing punctuality, and Game of Thrones (yep, again). The show wraps up with Gil and Al choosing sides in the epic Biblical battle that has raged for generations between Team Harvey (Gil) and Team Osteen (Al). Who wins? Tune in and find out...
The podcast is dark and full of terrors as the tres caballeros delve deep into Game of Thrones. The conversation starts with a discussion of the typcasting of James Earl Jones and quickly devolves into a discussion riddled with theories, conjecture, and Ron Jeremy. We learn what's really going on with Bran when he's warging and what it really means to be a three eye'd raven. Gil and Al then audition for the job of movie studio producer as they propse several sure to be hits movies revolving around warging run amok. Despite all of the interest in a certain little HBO show, the core three still take time to appreciate the solar eclipse retroactively. Finally, the one and only Marco calls in to interrupt special guest Sarah Jessica Parker to provide his man on the ground coverage of Hurricane Harvey. During his report we learn his family's history as Texas land barons and the details of how he'll get to Vegas in October. Finally just before ending, the gang is hit with a surprise visit from Woody Allen, bothered by the fact that nobody ever named a hurricane after him. Shame. Shame. Shame.
After serious debate on whether or not to continue with a missing member, after an outpouring of accolades from rabid fans, and after the heartfelt on-line plea of one our guests, the three original members are back in the saddle again. The Rooster ("Red" if you're nasty) fills the vacant seat, where she divulges the secrets of her unfamiliarity with World Geography and fondness for rolling pins. Joining Red is her friend Tess, who, inspired by "John Snow Comes to Dinner" tries her hardest to remove Red from the Estrogen Throne, GoT style - except no dragons...no Diana Rigg...and no Little Finger. Amidst the mayhem, Gil, Al, and Ron are educated about cuckholding, the correct pronunciation of ".gif", and how bad "The Emoji Movie" really is (THERE's a topic that begs discussion) among other things. And through it all, the ghost of the absent fourth lingers on...
The core four are back but for the last time? We discuss the future of the podcast throughout this podcast. We do have a guest named "Red" who joined us this week. We discuss Game of Thrones quickly but not everyone is up to date yet. So we start to discuss the OJ parole hearing and play some OJ clips. Jen then talks about her trip to Europe and she describes her tour of the Guinness Brewery. We then talk a little more about why we are ending the podcast and Ron, once again, brings up his "friend" Boss-Joe who is supposed to call in during the show (spoiler warning - he does not). We then ask our guest why they call her Red or her other nickname "The Rooster". Then friend-of-the-pod Dr. La Marca calls in to share his thoughts on the final podcast and we learn that Jeff (a non-friend of the pod) does not want us to podcast ever again. We then talk about the recent arrest of Shia Labeouf where he curses out a cop which leads to an update of our Death Pool. Jen then brings up the conspiracy surrounding Paul McCartney who many believe died in 1966 and the current one is just a hologram. This leads us to a discussion about the Mandela effect where we recall things a certain way but it turns out to be wrong. Switching gears, we review the recent #1 movie "Dunkirk" which leads us to a discussion about how certain movies could not be filmed today due to political correctness. Then another friend-of-the-pod Big Dollar Rob shows up to finish off the episode. We then learn that women have their own nail lady, discuss the recent transgender military ban, and why Ron hates marriage. We then talk about why a pedophile was arrested after he listed his top 10 reasons why he likes little girls, give our thoughts about the swimming "race" between Olympic gold-medal winner Michael Phelps and a shark, and play the age-old game called "What did Ron Eat Today". Then we end the show with some phone calls from Marco and Tucson Steve and further discuss the future of the podcast with our most ardent fans and get a final comprehensive traffic and weather update. With all that, our permission to podcast is permanently revoked?
We are back with just the guys plus Dr. La Marca. We start the show with Albert describing his side job working as an Uber driver. We then talk about the all-girl band called the Paradise Kitties. Then La Marca describes how he had a fireworks show on his 17th-floor patio in downtown Phoenix. Afterwards, Ron and I review the recent movie Baby Driver. Then we get conspiratorial, when Ron brings up the recent discovery of a photo that shows what really happened to Amelia Earhart. We then do a round of news by discussing Trump, the G-20 summit, and the Trump-Putin meeting. We then end the show talking about the recent outcome of the Bill Cosby trial.
We are back with just the guys plus Dr. La Marca. We start the show with 4th of July talk and then Ron brings up that Harry Potter just turned 20 years old today (if he were real and if anyone cared). We then play a short clip of Michael Winslow playing "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin with his mouth. Dr. La Marca then describes his life of leisure which includes a doorman and personal assistant. We then discuss the amount of food that is wasted at potlucks and how we don't trust coworker's food expertise. This leads to a realization of the need to diversify our cohort of friends to include more non-whites and non-Mexicans. Al then describes Gil's pot-smoking, 3-D printing, slacker doppelganger, Bernard. We then discuss having worst-case protocols to fall back on when the proverbial shit hits the fan in your life. As with everything, this leads us to a discussion about porn. We end the show with a discussion about how to find your drinking/stripper bar, some home-remodeling update talk, and the mentee/apprentice/assistant vs. master relationship and how to use it to get things done.
The core four are back in the studio. Albert starts us off by describing his trip to Chicago and attending the Iron Maiden and Metallica concerts. We then move on to EDM and terrorist profiling. We then review the news, including the stabbing of a police officer at an airport in Flint, Michigan, the shooting of Republicans at a baseball game in Virginia, and the truth regarding taped conversations in the oval office. We then discuss who will replace Sean Spicer as the president's spokesperson and play some audition tapes Tobias has discovered. Then we talk about the case of Michelle Carter who was convicted of "killing" a suicidal man by texts. We then move on to Johnny Depp's recent comments about Trump and get into a bigger discussion regarding Trump-hate in our current times. After comparing our different driving patterns and trying to define what makes a "good" driver, we end the show by having a discussion about different family structures and the need for fathers, the possibility of impeaching a president given previous precedents, the special elections this week, the new season of "House of Cards", and the treatment of Hollywood celebrities towards Trump.
We are back with friends of the pod, Aviva and BDR, but missing Albert this week. We open the show with the news that the founder of the World Star Hip Hop website has died and we discuss some of the videos that are on that site. Aviva talks about why she is visiting from afar. We then talk a little dead pool, my sister and BDR working together. We then talk about the events of the week specifically the baseball game shooting which it seems like no one knows about. Then we talk about Aviva's travel which leads to a discussion of inter-racial relationships. We then review some urban dating terms that are becoming popular. We end the show by talking about the men in porn and their interesting profession and some Bill Cosby talk.
We are back from a two-week vacation! In the studio this week is BDR and Matt along with the core 4. We start the show with a few stories and then do a round of Trump impersonations. We quickly discuss Kathy Griffin's recent (fake) Trump beheading and apology. We then discuss the movie Pulp Fiction and then review the more recent movie "Alien: Covenant" with very conflicting viewpoints. We then review the newer movie "Independence Day" with more conflicting viewpoints. Finally, we review the recent "Wonder Woman" movie with (big surprise) very conflicting viewpoints but we mostly agree that Gal Gadot is hotter than Linda Carter. Then we have a frank and timely discussion about the lack of social mobility in both rural and inner city settings. Then we sing "Welcome Back" for La Marca since he has moved back to Phoenix. By the end of the show, we discuss the recent Comey news and question why anyone would go to a bar in the morning to watch congressional hearings. Then we end the show with a description of a little social donut experiment with a dusting of shame.
BDR and eSteve plus the core four are back in the studio! We start off by discussing very hoppy beer, the recent podcast #37, and then do a round robin recalling our first time we felt up a woman's breasts. We then revisit the previous conversation about comparing the various "1000 Downloads" soundbites and eSteve has one new entry in the contest. We then get an update from the 2017 Memphis Barbecue Contest from our news correspondent Marco. Gil then talks about his upcoming weekend with the kids which leads us to more discussion about podcast #37 and, specifically, our guest from that show. We then talk about Jenifer's recent flight to Dallas to help La Marca move back to Phoenix (we think). Then we have a round of "Trump Talk with Ron" while simultaneously two guys try to open a bottle of El Presidente brandy (great visual podcast humor). We end the show with a live revoking of our permission to podcast.
The core four are back in the studio once again! We begin by talking a little dead pool but, unfortunately, no one has died yet. We move on to talking Trump and other news stories going on. Afterwards we celebrate our 1000th download with some sound bite fun. Gil then discusses his hectic week with his kids that resulted in a visit to the urgent care. We end the show by taking a phone call from a friend of the pod, Belia, who wants us to help her find a home, a job, and a boyfriend when she moves to the Phoenix area.
The core four are back in the studio! (Well Tobias is there too but, you know, who cares) We begin the podcast by discussing some recent podcast events. Then, we turn our attention to drafting our celebrities who we believe will die in 2017 in our First Annual Celebrity Dead Pool. After a trade, our lists have been finalized and the death clock has begun. We also review the recent Fate of the Furious movie and give some shout-outs to are most hardcore fans.
The core four are back in the studio for another round of pod. Jenifer opens up by revealing that it is the 7th anniversary of one of her ovaries (the bad one) being removed - an ova-versary! Then we briefly talk about when you know you "made it". After another dead pool talk, BDR shows up. Then we bring up whether or not Trump will serve out his term and what went wrong with Bill O'Reilly's recent exit from Fox News. We then play the Sexual Euphemism Game where each player must describe in graphic detail a sexual euphemism. The game is suddenly interrupted by a telemarketer and Gil screws it up by hanging up on him - missed opportunity! We end the show by discussing and playing the new Star Wars movie trailer.
Bonus podcast this week! The group is enjoying a night cap with recurring guests Alicia and La Marca. We jump right into the omnipresent problem of conforming to the "white male heteronormative" that some people believe exist. We go over various workplace scenarios and discuss where sexist and racist moments can occur sometimes without any acknowledgement. We talk about the difference between the terms "woman" and "female" and when to use either one. We study the definition of business success and perhaps how it should be re-structured and defined. We have a thought experiment to see if we can imagine what a world would look like under gender equality in the workplace. Unfortunately, by the somewhat abrupt end, no one had learned anything and no opinions were swayed.
We are back minus Jenifer (for unknown reasons...). We discuss the generational groups and specifically the generation X group that we all fall into. Then Ron rants about baby boomers. This leads to a discussion about tattoos, bullying, hipster douchebags, and millennials. Then we discuss climate change, how much of a problem it really is, and possible solutions. Then Ron rants about charity donations. We then review the recent movie "Life" but wind up talking about porn and the movie experience. Then, after a short discussion about the recent MOAB that was dropped on terrorists, we review the season finale of The Walking Dead. Then Ron rants about how Glenn was killed on the show. Finally, Lamarca and Alicia drop by which makes Tobias revoke our permission quickly but we start immediately up again for a nightcap podcast (see next podcast).
The group is back after our short hiatus! We reminisce about the early usage of cell phones and Jenifer reads an interesting text from a fan. Then Jenifer talks about home ownership and how it can suck sometimes. We then narrow down how we are going to create our dead pool which leads us to the conclusion that dry erase boards are awesome. Afterwards, given that it is National Beer Day, we describe what we are drinking during the podcast. Gil then describes why we did not have a podcast last week and the group discusses the likelihood of podcasting without Tobias/Gil - is it possible? Afterwards, we talk about our end-of-life choices and how the Arizona DMV is horrible. We end the show by discusses a recent list of songs that get stuck in your head.
