For the main topic this month, we head back to Pleasure Island for more fun and excitement. This is Part IV and if you haven't enjoyed Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3, we highly recommend you take a listen back as these were recorded years ago! How gives us a little recap of how each episode went in the past. The story on this episode though is changes. How gets us into each club and how they changed after a few years, including themes and names. These include Cage, The Wildhorse Saloon, 8-Trax, Planet Hollywood, Motion, Fulton's Crab House, BET Club and more. We go through our memories of each of the various iterations and also what we thought of them over the years. The interesting aspect we get into here with Pleasure Island is that it evolved frequently and for the most part, was done to keep people attending and trying to find that club that hit. This episode also has us reflecting on fads of the era from Wine Coolers, The Chicken Dance, Zima, Planet Hollywood, and line dancing. Even though this area has come and gone, we discuss where it went and how it went out. Many of us have memories of the big changes in the end and we even discuss the unused concept of Hyperion Wharf. Pleasure Island was a fun concept that worked in many areas and did not work in others. How has promised us a Part V episode about Pleasure Island, so make sure you message him if you are interested in hearing even more history on ‘PI'. Thanks for listening!

When we said we called the world, we called the world, even the guy who sold chickens for a living, and a good living I might add. By the way, did you know that the “Chicken Dance” was made popular was Bob Kames? He owned Kames Wonderful World of Music in Milwaukee. Bob called me and said that this song was going to become a popular record. I listened and disagreed. But after we played it on the air, the response was positive and it became a hit and a popular dance. Colonel Harland Sanders was best known for founding the fast-food chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken. He did it at age 65, using his $105 monthly Social Security check. Why is he called colonel? Sanders falsified his birth date to enlist in the U.S. Army, serving in Cuba. He received an honorary discharge and the Kentucky governor commissioned him an honorary colonel. He had an inspiring success story, which he will tell in this podcast.

Lindsay Palinsky joins Hayden and Josh to lend her dance expertise for the trio's takedown of everyone's least favorite group dance songs. What do The Chicken Dance, Cotton Eye Joe, The Macarena, and The Cha Cha Slide have in common? They all suck, of course! Josh is on his usual BS about "musical" issues, Lindsay has flashbacks to her bat mitzvah, and Hayden finds a way to talk about strudels again.
As Catholic Christians we know there's so much more to marriage than a one-day event with a beautiful dress, a tux and “the Chicken Dance.” As wedding season kicks into high-gear, we're going to take a step back and talk about the vocation of marriage and why the engagement process is so important. Joining us for that, Father Michael Van Sloun – a retired priest and pastor of the Archdiocese and regular contributor to The Catholic Spirit.

I just love saying the word “braciole.” We'll also get to the Chicken Dance. Meet Dennis Caiazza

Welcome to May 14, 2022 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate breaking records in sports and dance. In the 2016 Summer Olympics, Im Dong Hyun broke the points record in the men's archery competition. The South Korean archer did this despite being legally blind. So how exactly does someone with impaired vision compete in a sport that normally requires such sharp eyesight? He says that the target “looks as if different color paints have been dropped in water” and he aims for the middle of the smallest drop. And by the way, the Olympic record he shattered was the one he also set in the 2012 Olympics. On National Archery Day, try a sport that looks deceptively simple. As soon as you hear the upbeat oom, pah, pah of the Chicken Dance song, you know what happens next. Everyone heads to the dance floor and spends the next few minutes dancing in unison. Since it debuted in the 1950s, this silly little song has become a mainstay at weddings and Oktoberfest celebrations. In 1996, fans of the song took things to the extreme, setting the record for world's largest Chicken Dance. 72,000 people were all flapping their arms and shaking their tail feathers at once. On National Dance Like A Chicken Day, shake things up with an impromptu dance. Even if you're a party of one, it's hard not to smile when you're pretending to be poultry.
