As a young teenager, looking for a bigger and better life, Annie Lobert never planned to be a living statistic in the dark world of sex trafficking when she left home. For years, she lived under control of a man, whose sole purpose was to "break" her and make money off of her. One day she escaped his grasp and fell into the arms of Jesus. Annie's provocative story is a story of redemption and grit and she reciprocates that grace given to her through her ministry Hooker's For Jesus and Destiny House in Las Vegas, Nevada. A ministry that "hooks" women imprisoned by the sex trafficking industry and gives them a home, helps them find legitimate work, and covers them with the gospel. Annie tells the story in her book, Fallen and she shares her life's story with us on the show. Annie's journey to the Savior was a long dark road. This show is not intended for young ears. Hello friends, wherever you are from desk to dwelling. I am excited to introduce you to my friend, Joyce Smith. Smith is a prevalent last name here in the States, but Joyce is far from ordinary. Once you get to know Joyce, you will understand that her faith is what makes her extraordinary. Joyce’s testimony about her son, John who fell through the ice in a lake in Missouri was made into a movie last year. You may remember the BREAKTHROUGH trailer, which we will include in our show notes starring Krissy Metz and Josh Lucas. John stayed under the water for a long time, was pulled out of the water and was literally dead for over 45 minutes. However when Joyce cried out to God with power and desperation, a miracle occurred. A miracle that stormed Hollywood, and is still playing all over the world still today. John’s story didn’t start in 2015 when he fell in the lake. John’s story started in a small village in Guatemala in 2000. I had the privilege to meet Joyce a couple of months ago, when we hosted a Breakthrough event in our community. Joyce is very generous with her time and testimony. I am thankful that Joyce is here today, to talk about God’s story, through her adoption testimony. Joyce welcome to Resourcefully Speaking!
