O consumo de terawatts-hora (TWh) pelos data centers de IA dobrou de 2022 para 2023, e deve aumentar de forma incremental nos próximos anos, chegando a cerca de 500 TWh em 2027, volume que representa 2,6 vezes mais do que o nível de 2023.  O crescimento explosivo dos data centers e hyperscalers de IA está criando uma demanda “insaciável” por energia que irá superar a habilidade dos provedores de utilities de expandirem sua capacidade de atendimento. Isso ameaça desestabilizar a disponibilidade de energia e levar à escassez, o que limitará o crescimento de novos data centers para GenAI e outros usos a partir de 2026 Qual a solução? This week's special podcast is a look down memory lane at arguably the best boxing gym and stable ever to come out of Ireland, the famous Barney Eastwood stable of the 1980-1990's. Barney Eastwood was born in 1932 in Cookstown, Tyrone. He was a talented Gaelic footballer, winning the All Ireland Minor title in 1948. His love of boxing would begin after watching US soldiers box at the US Army base in Tyrone back in WW2. Barney would start his own bookmakers business in the 1950's and after building an empire, he would turn his attention to his love of boxing. Barney would build a gym and stable of fighters/coaches over the next two decades that would compete with any gym in Europe. Barry McGuigan, Hugh Russell , Herol Graham and Dave McAuley would win World, European and British titles during the 1980's. Who can forget the special nights with Barry McGuigan and the amazing relationship they built together which unfortunately would turn sour years later. By 1992, Paul Hodkinson, Crisanto Espana and Victor Cordoba would also join Dave 'boy' McAuley as World champions. Countless other champions would make their mark in the gym including Ray Close, Sam Storey, Noel Magee, Crawford Ashley as well as future World champions Eamonn Loughran, John Lowey and Steve Collins. Barney Eastwood would end his love affair with boxing by the late 1990's and eventually sell his successful Eastwood's bookmakers chain in a huge multi-million pound deal. He would retire to his home in Holywood with his wife Frances until his sad passing in 2020. He legacy lives on and he will forever be regarded as the 'Godfather of Irish boxing'.

Rincón de la Victoria acogerá durante el mes de febrero una nueva edición del Festival de Música Cueva del Tesoro, que este año cobra mayor importancia al celebrarse en el marco del 50 aniversario de la apertura turística de la cavidad. Cuatro conciertos, con cuatro estilos muy diferenciados, que abarcarán a todos los públicos y que “harán de esta edición una de las más importantes por el nivel de los participantes”, explicó el concejal de Turismo, Antonio José Martín (PP). Los conciertos se celebrarán en la Cueva del Tesoro, a las 20:30 horas, los viernes 9, 16 y 23 de febrero, así como el miércoles 28 de febrero, Día de Andalucía. Roko será la encargada de abrir esta edición el viernes 9, le seguirá el grupo The Vintage Experience el viernes 16, para el viernes 23 llegan las melodías de Holywood con Cheek to Cheek, y ya para el miércoles 28 de febrero cerrará la edición 2024 José Moré. El alcalde de Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), ha destacado el enorme nivel de las actuaciones y la continua labor de promoción cultural que se viene haciendo desde la propia Cueva del Tesoro. “Estamos ante un año importante, de celebración, y los conciertos no van a defraudar. Seguimos trabajando en una cuidada programación cultural que complete todo lo que ofrece nuestra ciudad. La Cueva del Tesoro es un referente por los motivos obvios, pero durante el mes de febrero también se convierte en el mejor escenario posible para los amantes de la música”. “Sin duda, estamos ante cuatro estilos diferenciados, que gustarán mucho y que adquieren una mayor relevancia al poder disfrutarlos dentro de la cavidad. The Boyd's neighbours and extended family were in and out of each other's houses all day, observing every detail of each other's lives. Why I had to choose my hair over my acting career W/ Shalita Grant An actress since High School, Tony- nominated Shalita grant publicly quit a popular long standing Television show after suffering from traction alopecia, thinning hair and breakage in front of an audience of millions. Holywood's tendency to ignore the needs of actors with textured hair meant that Shalita faced daily hair practices and techniques that caused severe long term damage to her own hair. The producers did not understand or provide for the complex needs of her hair and this put limitations on her career.She also faced backlash and trolling online when she tried to wear a wig to minimise further damage to her own hair. At the time, she could see no other option than to quit the show.After overcoming her own obstacles, she created the Four Naturals treatment to renew, restore and rebuild her hair, which is now in the best condition and more manageable than its ever been. This meant that her public and traumatic hair experience has not had to lead to her abandoning acting or hiding her hair forever.
