Yoel here. The Jewish Fitness Coach, this podcast will talk about various health and fitness topics. Challah up, here we go!
In this podcast, I reflect on the journey from Manchester to London taken to raise awareness for Holocaust Remembrance Day. Listen as I discuss the challenges faced during the trip and delve into the reasons behind taking on this meaningful challenge. Through personal anecdotes and educational content, we commemorate the lives lost during the Holocaust and the importance of remembering and honouring their legacy. This is a tribute to the victims and a reminder to continue the fight against hate and discrimination.

This episode I talk about my Manchester 10K with my sister. Something I want to appreciate is how amazing every single person was out there today. One of the reasons I love running is these running events. They bring people together because everyone wants to better themselves! Honestly, it meant so much to Hannah and to everyone who cheered her on during her 10K, it was so lovely to see! In the last 200 metres before we walked the end together, I was running while pushing Han in her wheelchair, Hannah's hands were in the air and everyone was cheering “Come On Hannah” and I could tell she had the biggest smile on her face, she was so happy! Thank you everyone who supported Hannah today. This is a special experience I will cherish forever ❤️ I talk about how the day went and why I think you should consider doing a running event.
Here are the 4 things Yoel wants you to do RIGHT NOW. If there was one thing to take from this episode, well, listen to find out!
30th episode of the podcast is a big one. Today we talk about my sister's sponsor 10K challenge for the Friendship Circle Manchester. Discussing your own achievements and celebrating your own journeys. If you are starting your fitness journey, here is one tip, unfollow any celebrities or influencers which bring no value to you. When I unfollowed a lot bodybuilders & influencers, it helped me appreciate how much I have progressed. You only see the good stuff on their page, you don't know what's happening behind the scenes. You probably don't want to see the other side. Want to sponsor my sister? What is this famous challah shred? You don't need to do any extreme diet. Here is what I did to lose 16 pounds without being restrictive. The point of the challah shred was to let you know that you can still be flexible while hitting your goals. Many years ago, I did not believe you could get a result only working out 3-4 times per week. Listening to other influencers, in my head, I'm thinking “I have to workout twice a day”, I was wrong! So what is the magic formula? Extra punishing cardio in the gym? Cut out all unhealthy foods? Hours in the gym? Cut out challah? Nope, nope & nope! Listen to the episode to find out
How do you feel about the gym? Are you nervous about going into the gym? Trying new equipment. Here are 10 tips you should follow to gain that gym confidence by yourself.
Here is what you need to do to get back on track after Passover. But here is what you should not do after Passover. It will be very tempting to try extreme methods if you have put on a bit of weight over this festival. There is nothing wrong having more calories over this period of time. Listen & implement to the four tips to get back on track after Passover.
Welcome to the first Passover Fitness Episode . This is a wonderful time of year. It can also be refreshing to take a break from your regular routine and try some new foods and recipes. Passover is not a detox. It shouldn't be so difficult to avoid foods like bread, pasta, crackers, and so on, but for many people it becomes more of a mental game. Some people use it as an opportunity to "detox" and live a healthy lifestyle, while others feel deprived and compensate with unhealthy foods throughout the week. Listen to hear about what you must do over Passover to stay on track and four common passover eating mistakes.
Welcome to another episode of The Jewish Health Podcast. Yoel talks about his own experience over passover with food intake and recommends you follow these tips to help you overeating or binge eating . Ditch the diet - Fad diets can often be very unhealthy, and studies show that overly restrictive eating methods may trigger episodes of binge eating. Avoid skipping meals Setting a regular eating schedule and sticking to it is one of the most effective ways to overcome binge eating.Drinking plenty of water throughout the day is a simple yet effective way to curb cravings and stop overeating. And a few more important tips. Enjoy
That's right, achieving your goals is not always going to be an upwards journey. Just like another other goal outside the fitness. Getting your first job was not easy. Learning how to drive was not easy. Becoming a lawyer or a director of a firm is not easy. Great news, achieving your fitness goals is not easy. Understand these three things when you start your weight loss journey although they relate to any fitness goal.
You will be surprised at what I say! Yes, we all do it. I have done it and I talk about my experience in this podcast

Purim Fitness Tips. There are no fitness tips - you need some mindset tips. You need to understand there are no good or bad foods. Having a hamantaschen is not going to make you put on weight. If you do overeat your calories over this festival, here is what I want you to do. Firstly, here is what I do not want you to do (Extreme fast, Extra Cardio Sessions or Extreme low calorie diets). These are all big no no's! All I want you to do is get back on track.

Is steps a heathy obsession? Compared to other addictions or obsessions, we could say steps is probably a healthy one. Yoel talks about step targets are important and the cons and pros of step counting. How long are you spending on your phone or watching tv per day? We all may know someone who loves getting their steps in (Maybe it's you). People need to understand more about what is a realistic step count for them is! 10,000 came from a marketing point, but find a number realistic for you! If you are 100KG, walking 10,000 is a lot more challenging than 60KG walking 10,000.
Yoel chats with Israeli Olympian Maor Tiyouri in this episode. The new series on The Jewish Health Podcast. The aim of this new series is to inspire & educate you
Yoel talks about if how you should have a plan inside and outside the gym. And if you actually need to workout to lose weight? Having a plan outside the gym leads to results. Last few days, I have been explaining the concept of NEAT and the importance on making small changes outside the gym. We know the fundamentals of fat loss is being in a calorie deficit. If you goal is fat loss, workouts will help trying to achieve CD, but it will be challenging without a plan outside the workout time. When you are consistent with the gym workouts, amazing! Now add being consistent with your steps & nutrition. That's where the results happen! Stay consistent. Have a plan. Celebrate the wins. Focus on getting stronger & fitter. Focus on finding a suitable plan for you outside the gym Focus on feeling mentally stronger. Physical changes will happen!
How to get abs. Why are you doing AB workouts? If you think abs workouts will help with fat loss, read this caption. I love ab workouts. This is not saying DON'T DO THEM. I want you asking yourself, why are you doing them? What's the benefit for you doing them? I think they are great! I've been doing ab workouts for many years. I'll be honest. Years ago, I did them because I wanted ABS (SHOCK). When I spent more time on workouts, doing ab workout everyday and not focussing on nutrition and lifestyle I was trying so hard to get abs and never did. When I focused on being in a calorie deficit and not so much on doing ab workouts every day. Abs ✅ Now I'll do them because it helps with my core strength But I'm here to tell you the truth, the only way you will get abs is dropping your overall body fat % That's by being in a calorie deficit. That means you can still do your ab workouts and get abs, only if you are in a calorie deficit over a period of time. So when you see influencers selling get abs in 2 week programs? Yeh that's a lie.
Based on this logic, a cheat meal is having foods you would not usually consume which is higher in calories. So does that make FND a cheat meal? Every single shabbat a cheat day? Because it will have more calories than a Pizza or chips. Cheat meals are scheduled meals that include indulgent foods that wouldn't ordinarily be permitted on your diet. A cheat day is when you allow yourself to consume any foods you want over an entire day. Leads to negative thinking. Speaking from professional and personal experience with cheat meals, having had varying degrees of success over the years, they can be very tempting, but often lead to fluctuations in energy levels, gastro-intestinal issues and overeating! If you are not an athlete, if you feel like you need a cheat meal, you are following the wrong plan.
Achieve your fitness goals without the gym. Gym seems scary for so many people. There are various benefits going to the gym and The Jewish Fitness Coach does suggest over a period of time, that could be option. People they need a PT to go to the gym, they do not! You can achieve confidence in the gym without a PT but with a plan! However, if you are wanting to join a gym right now, no worries, you do not need to visit the gym at all to achieve your weight loss goal. The Jewish Fitness Coach talks about different plans for you. He talks about what you do outside the workout time will make the difference for your goals!
The Jewish Fitness Coach talks about his experience with antisemitism. The norm of this growing up and just thought it was normal in every day life. Yoel talks about Sir Ben Helfgott MBE. He became a successful businessman and champion weightlifter. In 1956 and 1960 he captained the British Olympic Weightlifting Teams – the only known concentration camp survivor to have participated in the Olympics – and he was British Lightweight Champion for seven years. Yoel explains why there is a Jewish Sunday Football league in the UK. You may think it is because of playing on Saturday is not allowed. It is actually for another reason. Yoel goes on and talks about why he became The Jewish Fitness Coach and wants to help Jewish People become more safe while working out!
The Jewish Fitness Coach talks about brand new fitness events coming to The Jewish Community around the world. THE KOSHER RUN. If you've heard about Park Run, you'll know that this has grown massively over the past decade, encouraging people to become active on a Saturday morning! Unfortunately for those operating 24/6 and Shabbat what it is, I want to invite you to join me Sunday morning for The Kosher version! This can be a Sunday morning walk, jog or 5K run! The aim of The Kosher Run is to encourage and see more activity among Jewish people on a Sunday morning! Next event you can find out in the podcast
Why may weight go up during a weight & fat loss period. In the JFC community group, I was speaking about this, and I wanted to share with you. MY TEST YESTERDAY I did a little test yesterday during my challah shred. Weighing myself first thing and last thing on the day. And then same again first thing today. I weighed exactly 2 pounds heavier than I did in both mornings! FACTS - Daily weight fluctuation is normal. The average adult's weight fluctuates up to 5 or 6 pounds per day. It all comes down to what and when you eat, drink, exercise, and even sleep. Yoel talks about some tips for you at the end of the podcast.1
The Jewish Fitness Coach talks about why you should not be following any FAD DIET. What is a fad diet? A fad diet is a plan that promotes results such as fast weight loss without robust scientific evidence to support its claims. Why Jewish people? Well this can relate to everyone. But some of diets will not allow you to have carbohydrates. You know what has carbohydrates in? Challah or most things we allow. When it comes to Jewish events, Jewish festivals, when following any fad diet, these events or festivals become a challenge.
If you want to create long term success with your fitness goal. The Jewish Fitness coach will explain how to achieve that. Something you should take from this podcast is self awareness. The only person you should care about is yourself when it comes to fitness. You can be inspired by others and credit their hard work. Only compare yourself from you today to your next year! Yoel gives you an amazing opportunity to join a FREE 5 day fitness masterclass to help you with your fitness goal!
The Jewish Fitness Coach (Yoel) explains the most effective way to lose your first pound in 2022. However, the most effective way is so different to everyone. Over a period of time, the three things Yoel talks about will be something you implement to lose that first pound. Why not 10-20 pounds? Because you want to focus on losing that first pound so you can repeat the same process! Yoel also talks about how Friday Night Dinners and Shabbat will impact your weight loss goals. As Yoel is an online coach, he works with Jewish people around the world achieving these goals while enjoying their meals at the weekend!
Sure, the scale displays your overall weight, but there are so many things that contribute to that number. Let's talk about making mental progress as well as working towards your goalI know some of you feel bad every time you have a few pieces of challah over the weekend or having a donut over Hanukkah! One day, you will have a positive internal feeling when you have these foods without feeling like a failure. How do you achieve that? Knowledge & experience I was just like you. Feeling guilty having a price of “unhealthy” food and would punish myself in the gym doing hours of cardio. Taking control of your health & fitness will be the best. For some of you, understanding the calories you consume will be a great way to build up your personal nutritional knowledge. But how do we measure progress? Here are some ways you can without weighing yourself.
