They also discussed the challenges of building a propane-powered home, including dealing with homeowners associations and the efficiency of propane appliances. Additionally, they highlighted President Trump's executive orders aimed at reducing costs associated with climate policies and leveling the playing field for energy sources, including the removal of electric vehicle mandates.

Send us a textZions National Park has recently made a transition from propane to coal.Following a $33 million taxpayer-funded investment after 25 years of clean and affordable transportation powered by propane. A study from NREL suggests that this transition in Utah could result in 30% more emissions compared to the old propane buses. However, there is optimism for the future, aiming to power these electric buses with clean electricity…. The key questions that arise are whether these new electric buses will match the longevity of the propane fleet and if Utah can achieve cleaner electricity surpassing the efficiency of propane. With $33 million, one wonders how many new ultra-clean propane buses could have been purchased? Time will be the ultimate revealer of the outcomes. I wonder if park management has the intuition to retaining the old, reliable propane fleet to address EV challenges and ensure a seamless experience for visitors exploring the wonders of Zions National Park. What do you think a 25 year old electric buss would look like compared to a 25 year old propane bus?

The State of Energy hosts Tom Clark and Rand DeWitt discuss a breakthrough in technology to produce renewable propane from carbon dioxide. A paper recently published in Nature Energy based on pioneering research done at Illinois Institute of Technology reveals a promising breakthrough in green energy: an electrolyzer device capable of converting carbon dioxide into propane in a manner that is both scalable and economically viable. As the United States races toward its target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, innovative methods to reduce the significant carbon dioxide emissions from electric power and industrial sectors are critical. While the world carries on about electrification as THE solution for climate change, America is missing a prime opportunity to transition medium-duty fleets using an American-made fuel that is readily available and abundant in supply. Would it surprise you to learn there is enough surplus propane in the United States – 20 billion gallons to be exact – to convert at least half of the country's medium-duty vehicles from diesel to propane? This would reduce carbon emissions by 21 million metric tons, which is equivalent to taking 4.5 million cars off the road every year.https://reason.com/2022/11/02/driving-electric-cars-produces-little-carbon-making-the-batteries-produces-a-lot/https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/fords-electric-vehicle-unit-losing-billions-as-company-invests-in-new-technologyhttps://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-unveils-toughest-ever-car-emissions-rules-bid-force-electric-vehicle-purchasesHappy Birthday @Bigballergashauler

Okay, not really. Wyoming makes some noise by proposing a resolution to "Phase out EV Sales by 2035" as a tongue-in-cheek statement to get your attention to how important Wyoming is for oil, gas, coal, and, oh yeah, all the energy that it takes to create electricity to charge your EV and cook on electric stoves.Perhaps this resolution was in response to news outlets trying to portray a gas stove ban by the CPSCStatement by CPSC - Over the past several days, there has been a lot of attention paid to gas stove emissions and to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Research indicates that emissions from gas stoves can be hazardous, and the CPSC is looking for ways to reduce related indoor air quality hazards. But to be clear, I am not looking to ban gas stoves and the CPSC has no proceeding to do so. CPSC is researching gas emissions in stoves and exploring new ways to address health risks. CPSC also is actively engaged in strengthening voluntary safety standards for gas stoves. And later this spring, we will be asking the public to provide us with information about gas stove emissions and potential solutions for reducing any associated risks. This is part of our product safety mission – learning about hazards and working to make products safer. Fun facts about gas stoves- 3 Billion people worldwide do not have access to clean cooking with gas stoves. These 3 billion people use wood, charcoal, and dung. That's right, over 2 billion people cook and heat water with dung. According to a review article by Goldemberg et al. (2018), the current state of scientific understanding indicates that the health impact resulting from direct exposure to smoke from biomass cooking leads to about 2.2–3.8 million excess deaths per year, accounting for about 3.9%–6.4% of global mortality. WHO reports Exposure to smoke from cooking fires causes 3.8 million premature deaths each year, mostly in low- and middle-income countries. Residential use of US natural gas consumption accounts for 15% of total Nat gas, and only 7% of the residential use is for cooking. If the US bans gas stoves, the 3 billion people worldwide who would love access to gas stoves will be further suppressed by reducing access to affordable, gas stoves. Propane provides the world with affordable, clean energy. Don't let anyone take that choice from you. https://www.engadget.com/wyoming-wants-to-phase-out-sales-of-new-e-vs-by-2035-200704042.htmlhttps://www.politico.com/news/2023/01/14/joe-biden-gas-stoves-00077944https://www.multiconsultgroup.com/assets/LPG-for-Cooking-in-Developing-Countries_Report-by-Multiconsult.pdf
