Most pharma launch frameworks don't fail because they lack structure; they fail because they become rigid checklists that kill strategic thinking. In this episode, Lumanity's Business Development Director, Jeff Hart, and Launch Excellence Principal, Kirsty Tait, talk about how pharmaceutical companies can scale launch excellence as pipelines grow and complexity increases. Kirsty and Jeff explain that rigid, one-size-fits-all frameworks lead to inefficiency, slow decisions, and misalignment across global and local teams. Instead, organizations need a standardized operating system with built-in flexibility to tailor strategy by asset and market. Ultimately, success depends not just on process, but on strong governance, a single source of truth, and a winning culture that drives execution. If your launch process feels slow, inconsistent, or overly complex, this conversation will help you rethink how to scale without losing speed or impact. In this episode of the Industry Spotlight, joining host Sam D'Arc are Art Dessein, Vice President of Sales at Impel, and Rebekah Scheussler, Business Development Director at Walters Auto Group to discuss why luxury dealers are quietly losing service customers to independent shops and how AI is rebuilding the personalized experience at scale across both sales and service. This conversation surfaces the silent retention leak inside fixed operations: a nine-minute average service hold time, an 80% abandonment rate on the online service scheduler, and 190,000 independent shops siphoning loyal owners away. Walters has run 107,000 leads and over 600,000 messages through Impel, lifted per-rep capacity from 200 leads to 300-400, watched show rates climb, and seen days to sale drop. Customers are even thanking the AI agent for the best service experience they have ever had, without knowing it isn't human. The takeaway for any dealer on the fence: it isn't if, it's how fast. This episode of the Car Dealership Guy Podcast is brought to you by Impel. In This Episode Most business owners think growth comes from working harder. Rebecca Dodge believes growth comes from building systems and teams that allow the business to operate consistently without depending on one person. In this episode, Adi Klevit interviews Rebecca Dodge, Business Development Director and Integrator at Universal Windows Direct of Manchester, about her journey through the construction industry and the systems that helped transform her business. Rebecca shares how she started as a young electrician apprentice in a male-dominated field and developed the persistence, discipline, and leadership skills that shaped her career. Adi and Rebecca discuss one of the biggest challenges business owners face: learning how to delegate and trust their team. Rebecca explains that documented systems and processes gave her company the ability to create consistent customer experiences, improve accountability, and empower employees to solve problems independently rather than relying on leadership for every answer. The conversation also highlights the importance of building the right team and creating a culture of growth. Rebecca shares how tools like DISC profiles help leaders understand how employees think and communicate, allowing the company to build stronger relationships internally while delivering a better customer experience externally. Perhaps the biggest takeaway is that systems create freedom. Rebecca explains how implementing clear processes has allowed her and her husband to finally step away from daily operations with confidence—something many entrepreneurs struggle to achieve.

Prav is back in the host's chair for a conversation that's quite literally close to home — Andy Sloan is his boss. Andy is the MD of Agilio, the dental software and compliance platform, and a man who has overseen well over a hundred practice acquisitions throughout his career. But before any of that, he was a council house kid from the Wirral, running paper rounds at 14, pulling pints at 18, and somehow landing — by his own admission — in dentistry entirely by accident. This episode traces that unlikely path through hospitality, banking, accountancy and private equity, unpicking the one constant that runs through all of it: relationships. Andy opens up about the dark periods too — fertility struggles, the pressure of simultaneous transactions, and the moments where burnout lurked closer than he'd care to admit. Honest, warm and genuinely self-aware, it's a cracking listen—or catch the video on whichever platform you usually get your weekly Dental Leaders dose.In This Episode00:00:20 - Introducing Andy Sloan - Prav's boss 00:02:15 - Early life00:12:10 - Hospitality years00:26:40 - Meeting Lynette; buying the pub00:27:00 - Banking and sales00:38:15 - Into dentistry — DBG00:43:50 - Henry Schein Business Solutions and Europe00:46:45 - Portman Dental00:59:05 - Joining Julio; building the tribe01:04:00 - Julio's growth — 17 acquisitions in under five years01:07:35 - Relationships as the common thread01:13:20 - Blackbox thinking01:15:45 - Practice valuations — the levers that matter01:27:25 - Dark moments01:34:55 - Julio's future and the Dental OS vision01:37:10 - Dentistry Reimagined01:41:25 - Last days and legacyAbout Andy SloanAndy Sloan is the Managing Director of Agilio, the dental software and compliance group that has completed 17 acquisitions in under five years. Gareth Bray is Business Development Director and WhatsApp Guru at Premier CX. He is based in Odiham, Hampshire, UK. Over 100 billion WhatsApp messages are sent daily by users - that's more than a million messages on the platform every second. Between 1 to 3 billion of these daily messages is a customer talking to a business. Gareth was on the Meta team when they launched WhatsApp in Europe so he has a long background using this asynchronous messaging tool. In many global markets WhatsApp has entirely redefined customer service. It's also free for the customer and very low cost for the business. Mark Hillary called Gareth to explore WhatsApp and why more companies should be considering this messaging app. https://www.linkedin.com/in/gareth-bray-207105a/ https://www.premiercx.co.uk/ --- Summary: Mark Hillary and Peter Ryan discuss the rise of WhatsApp as a customer service channel, particularly in Brazil and India, with Gareth Bray from Premier CX. “Asynchronous messaging respects customers' time—and when you meet people where they already are, CSAT, revenue, and retention follow.” — Gareth Bray, Premier CX Gareth Bray, Business Development Director at Premier CX, joined Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, to discuss how WhatsApp is becoming an essential business channel worldwide. Premier CX, originally known for IVR audio and FAQ videos, now leads organizations through a “zero to amazing” journey on WhatsApp, helping them design, integrate, and scale conversational experiences. Bray explained why WhatsApp is booming: Global adoption — >90% of consumers in India & Brazil already use it to talk to businesses; Europe and the U.S. are rapidly following. Convenience — Asynchronous messaging beats long hold times and tethered web chats. Trust — WhatsApp sits alongside family and friends, making it highly personal and effective. The results are clear: companies report higher productivity, lower costs, stronger CSAT, and increased sales and retention. Bray shared examples from retail and utilities where WhatsApp journeys cut handle time, empowered customers, and improved outcomes for all parties. Bottom line: Just as websites once became essential, WhatsApp is the next wave of customer engagement—and businesses that delay risk being left behind. On this episode of the Scouting For Growth podcast, Sabine VdL talks to Ola Jacob, Business Development Director for the UK & Ireland at Descartes Underwriting, a specialist Parametric Insurance MGA and Insurer. On today's episode, Ola will provide an educational deep dive into the world of parametric insurance. He'll explain what parametric insurance is, how it differs from traditional insurance, and why it is gaining traction as a data-driven solution to cover risks like natural catastrophes. Ola will share real-world examples of how parametric insurance has provided significant value to corporate clients and industries adopting this innovative approach as part of their risk management strategies. KEY TAKEAWAYS When I started in insurance I didn't know much about it, but when you strip it down to its bare bones it's the idea of making good on your promise. That was a big draw for me because it felt altruistic. When it's done right, and someone receives their cheque for the claim after it's all gone smoothly is the best feeling in the world. The stigma we get from the bad experiences is what damages the image of insurance. The best solutions are ones that people don't know about, and ones that don't get in the way and make things better. If you're going to create a solution that helps it should have another login or portal, something clunky that gets in people's way, it should be cool and slick like a Rolex. Innovation can't be done on your own, when I won the Insurance Times Technology Champion of the Year Award, it was a reflection of the whole industry and all the people I've met on my journey that have been open to change. I don't think we've done it yet, I think there's so much more change to be had and I'm excited to see how we can push further. The biggest problem in parametric insurance is the name, because it sounds so complicated. But it's actually the simplest form of insurance there is. The Mantra behind all parametric policies is: When a pre-agreed parameter is met then a pre-agreed pay out is made. This forms the backbone of all parametric contracts. That differs from indemnity because indemnity is a promise to put you back in the same condition you were in before the loss, parametric is pretty much black and white. BEST MOMENTS ‘If you add parametric to indemnity it could really be a game changer that could change the face of how we do insurance forever.' ‘I've always wanted to come in and do something to help change insurance for the better with technology.' ‘In parametric products, the parameters must be measurable and independent, something that's not controllable by somebody else, like weather.' ‘Clients recover, using parametric insurance, with 10X less limit than they'd previously because of the speed of payout. And they'd planned how they would use that payout because they already knew what they were going to get if this event happened.' ABOUT THE GUEST Ola Jacob is the Business Development Director for the UK & Ireland at Descartes Underwriting, a specialist Parametric Insurance MGA and Insurer covering Natural Catastrophe exposure globally. With over 12 years of experience in the London Market Insurance Sector, Ola has worked on UK Retail, Product Recall, Terrorism, Onshore Energy and Parametric insurance. Ola's background in Human-Computer Interaction and Psychology has fueled his passion for developing new approaches to risk transfer and managing risk for clients. As one of the pioneers of parametric insurance, Ola helped build a distribution strategy for one of the first successful parametric solutions in the London Market. In 2024, he was named Insurance Times Technology Champion of the Year for his innovative work. LinkedIn ABOUT THE HOST Sabine is a corporate strategist turned entrepreneur.
