Israel’s security services have done a good bit of work destroying Hamas’ militarily. But that’s only half the battle. A new proposal is calling to create a coordinated “total lawfare” campaign between Israel and Diaspora allies targeting Hamas legal and fundraising capacities. The initiative was put to the government by ANU, the Museum of the Jewish People. Reporter Arieh O’Sullivan spoke with Oded Revivi about the proposed task force. 0222: Midweek Debrief — Steel, Cloth & Waging the Hidden War

The Warrior Priest Podcast

Steel, Cloth & Waging the Hidden War I saw a read a missive on Substack recently by Matthew Herman Hudson that critiqued the claim that Christianity needs “less passive monks and more active knights.” To think the monk's labor is passive, a withdrawal from the struggle that defines this world, is to see with dim sight and hear with a stopped ear. Such a view shrinks the spiritual into a shallow mirror of the material. For even at the surface—the realm of flesh, stone, and letters—monks have been the lifeblood of the church since the days of Constantine. Their hands copied the scriptures, built the churches, tilled the land, and served the sick. Their words taught reformers, kings, and common folk. They crafted counterweights to pride and sloth, not in lofty disdain but in painful and deliberate denial of the very excess that tempts every human soul. And beyond this visible realm, their prayers, chants, and unbroken vigils batter the gates of heaven. Who among us, walking through modern light and noise, even fathoms what such prayers hold back or call forth? To imagine monastic work as lesser, as idle musings beside the knight's charge into battle, is to misunderstand both knight and monk. Both are bound to a fight, but one's battleground may be inward and the other outward. The monk guards the foundations of the world as the knight wields his sword for its survival. This misunderstanding, I suspect, comes from an itch born of modernity. The world, skeptical and blunt, distrusts the unseen. Machines hum; steel cuts; the airwaves tell stories of heroes whose weapons clatter in the din of war. The subtle weapons, the fasting, the kneeling, the holy words whispered in silence, appear useless. The hero of the world must spill blood to prove his worth. But have we grown so blind to old truths? The Scriptures speak plainly of the contest in heaven, of the war not against flesh and bone but against rulers, powers, and dominions unseen. Christ Himself withdrew to deserts, mountain tops, and gardens, not to shirk His call but to strengthen His heart for the final sacrifice. Did He not fast for forty days, battered by Satan's temptations, standing firm as the Adam who would not fall? And what of Paul, whose words on the “full armor of God” still rattle through the Christian soul? Truth girds the waist, righteousness shields the heart, and the sword, sharper than any iron blade, is the Word that cuts clean through falsehood. The fight we call “spiritual” is as bitter and unrelenting as the clash of armies, and if anything, its weapons bite deeper. Knights wield steel to cut down men; monks take up the cross to mortify the self. Do not mistake mortification for weakness—it takes far greater strength to defeat oneself than to kill a foe. And here, within this daily death, lies the heart of the monk's work. For in dying to pride, lust, and every grasping passion, the monk undermines the kingdom of hell. Even the ancients knew the gravity of this unseen fight. Long before Christ spoke in Judea, pagans grasped after heavenly hierarchies. The Norse sagas spoke of Asgard and Jotunheim, a layered cosmos bound by struggle. The Greeks warred their gods in stars and clouds; the Hebrews placed thrones, dominions, and seraphim at the peak of creation. And when the Son of Man walked the earth, He did not abolish such truths but fulfilled and revealed them. In His name, Gabriel still delivers messages to the lowly, and Michael still hews down the prince of Persia. This cosmos—full and flaming with meaning—is as far from our machine-built wastelands as heaven is from hell. The rise of secular power has not silenced the fight but drowned it in noise. Modern warfare no longer follows battle cries but clicks and transactions. Souls are not struck down in combat; they erode under streams of temptation, thin and ceaseless. Bread is discarded; circuses now shine on screens. The world whispers the lie that this life's struggles—our afflictions, temptations, and triumphs—are without weight, part of a meaningless drift. But the church, bound to her Bridegroom, stands against this drift. Her steeples, which once towered above every town, do not symbolize pride. They mark the upward pull of belief, the meeting point of earthly toil and heaven's calling. Every sacrament is an act of defiance—a claim that water holds rebirth, bread and wine turn flesh and blood, and words have power when spoken by authority. Each stained window, chalice, and vestment serves as a battlefield where meaning is reclaimed from chaos. Knights, monks, saints—each took their stand in different ways. In times of barbarian invasion, it was the knight's steel and flesh that shielded Christendom. In ages of spiritual decay, it was the monk's robe and ink that sustained the heart of the faith. Today's war may appear less bloody, but it is no less brutal. Our enemies are not outside the gates—they are in the walls, in the language, in the symbols twisted from their God-given roots. Against this flood, the church must hold her ground. Men look to their forefathers in this war because meaning requires anchors. Tradition gives us strength not out of nostalgia but because it is forged in the fires of centuries. The Mass does not dull the heart—it sharpens it against the world's cheap imitations of beauty. Ritual and liturgy, misunderstood as empty repetition, are in truth ancient weapons. The words of the Creed hold more power than the clamor of politics; the reading of the Scriptures breaks chains unseen. To kneel, to stand, to lift hands in the prayers of old, is to rehearse the movements of warriors in God's cause. To stand at this crossroads of belief and conflict is to recognize what is demanded of both body and spirit. We wear this armor not to triumph by our strength but by God's mercy. Ritual becomes not an adornment, but the scaffolding holding us firm against forces that grind bones to dust. And where does that leave the modern monk, the warrior in a world awash in screens and sirens? It leaves him with the same call as those before: to fight, though his battlefields are hidden and his victories unseen. His prayers build unseen citadels; his abstinence wounds the empire of the flesh. And for the knight whose heart burns with zeal to act—he, too, must be guided by the monk's hand. For God, in His wisdom, never set monk against knight or tradition against zeal. He wove them together as differing weapons in His vast arsenal. The knight, armed with sword and shield, must learn the humility to lay them down when called to prayer. And the monk, hands clasped in vigil, must trust that his brothers at the gates wield their weapons not for glory but for God. Whether in chainmail or a rough robe, on the battlefield or in the cloister, every soldier in this kingdom wages the same war. For as long as there is a heaven and an earth, a Christ and a church, there will be a fight to preserve their bond against those who seek to sever it.

Parashat Toldot- Waging the Eternal Struggle Against Esav

Insight of the Week

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 28, 2024

Parashat Toldot tells the story of the blessings that Yishak Abinu decided to give to Esav, but ended up conferring upon Yaakob, who, at his mother's behest, disguised as Esav and came before Yishak to receive the blessing. The Torah relates that when Esav came, and Yishak then told him that his brother had deceived him and received the blessings in his place, Esav cried bitterly ("Va'yiz'ak Ze'aka Gedola U'mara Ad Me'od" – 27:34). The Midrash (Yalkut Shimoni 115) comments that Esav actually shed only three tears. One fell from his right eye, another from his left eye, and a third remained stuck inside his eye. This third tear, the Midrash concludes, is what has caused the Jewish Nation to shed rivers of tears throughout the ages. Rav Solomon Breuer (Germany, 1850-1926), son-in-law of Rav Samson Raphael Hirsch (1808-1888), offered a meaningful explanation of the Midrash's description. The two tears that fell from Esav's eyes correspond to the two "wrongs" that Yaakob committed against him. The first was Yaakob's purchasing the birthright from Esav in exchange for food when Esav came into the home weary and famished. And the second, of course, was Yaakob's seizing the blessings which Yishak had intended to grant to Esav. These two tears, Rav Breuer explained, were what we would call today "crocodile tears." Esav was not really upset over losing the birthright and Yishak's blessings. The birthright entailed performing the special service in the Bet Ha'mikdash, which Esav surely had no desire at all to participate in. And as for the blessings, the Midrash elsewhere (Bereshit Rabba 66:3) comments that in these blessings there are allusions to all the different areas of Torah – the Tanach, Mishna, Gemara, etc. These blessings of success, prosperity and dominance were not given "for free"; they were promised only on condition, in exchange for serious commitment to Torah learning and observance. This is certainly not something that Esav had any interest in. Esav's only real tear, Rav Breuer explained, was the tear that remained in his eye, and could not be seen. Meaning, what really troubled Esav, what really pained him, was not the birthright or the blessings, but rather the knowledge that Yaakob was the worthier brother, that he truly earned the right to bear the legacy of Abraham and Yishak, to be a patriarch of Hashem's special nation. And it is this hidden pain that has caused Am Yisrael so much pain and so many tears throughout the ages. The enemies of the Jewish Nation outwardly shed different kinds of fake "tears," they give different reasons for why their hostility toward us is justified, why they feel they have the right to cause us harm and to seek our destruction. But the real reason is the hidden "tear," the resentment over Am Yisrael's status as G-d's special nation. When Yaakob first came before Yishak disguised as Esav, Yishak heard what sounded like Yaakob's voice, but when he felt Yaakob's arms, they felt hairy, like Esav, because Ribka had wrapped goatskins around his arms. Yishak then proclaimed, "Ha'kol Kol Ya'akob, Ve'ha'yadayim Yedeh Esav" – "The voice is the voice of Yaakob, but the hands are the hands of Esav" (27:22). The Midrash uncovers for us the deeper message of Yishak's pronouncement, explaining that he was saying, "When the voice of Yaakov is heard in the synagogues, the hands are not the hands of Esav; otherwise, the hands are the hands of Esav." The way we protect ourselves against the threat of Esav, from the hostility and animosity of the enemy nations, is through heartfelt prayer. And so in our times, when there are so many who are trying to inflict harm upon Am Yisrael, both in Israel and around the world, let us commit ourselves to increasing the "voice of Yaakob," to pray and beseech G-d for His protection and assistance. We must raise our voices and pour our hearts before Hashem, and ask that He shield us from those who seek our destruction, and grant our nation the peace and serenity that we long for.

Is the world turning a blind eye to the plight of Palestinians? Grace Batchoun, a Christian and Co-founder of  Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, joins Craig for a deeply personal conversation about the ongoing Occupation of the Palestinian people and genocide in Gaza. Grace shares her journey as a Palestinian Christian and highlights the dire situation in Gaza, challenging the narrative of Israel's self-defense.  Grace and Craig emphasize the need for Christians to align with the teachings of Jesus by advocating for peace and justice over death and destruction. Grace deconstructs the ongoing expansion of settlements, which defy international law and United Nations resolutions. How does this impact the lives of those in the region? The conversation unpacks the complexities of everyday life brought on by the Israeli Occupation of Palestinians, urging listeners to reconsider their perspectives and recognize the humanity of Palestinians.  The current humanitarian crisis and genocide in Gaza is another focal point. The severe conditions caused by Israeli blockades and refusal to work toward a ceasefire agreement—continuing the unending starvation, destroyed infrastructure, and families in distress. What does this mean for the people living there, and how can the international community respond? Craig and Grace also examine the role of evangelical Christian support for Israel. Does this stance align with the teachings of Jesus on peace and justice, or does it contradict them? Through personal stories and historical context, this episode offers a Palestinian perspective on displacement and life under occupation. Finally, the discussion sheds light on the broader implications of Israel's actions on international law and human rights. How do these actions measure up against the conventions established after World War II? SERIES: “The Need for Followership”What is the worst war in human history? One might point to World War II, which has the highest death toll of at least 90 million people. Or consider the Three Kingdoms War, which not only resulted in over 40 million deaths but also lasted for most of the third century. There is no end to the sad list of nominations: the Thirty Years War, the Taiping Rebellion, the American Civil War, World War I.None of those is the correct answer. The worst war in human history began when the first shot was fired in Eden. It has been raging since. It is a war against “spiritual forces of evil” (Ephesians 6:12). This is not a war over land or resources. It is a war for souls. The reality is that there are demonic forces that want to do more than kill you; they want to claim you for all eternity. The good news: Christ has already called you his own and equipped you for this war. Followers of Christ are armed for the battle.

Computer chips are the driving force behind everything from smartphones and cars to military defense systems and artificial intelligence. Not only are they the essential element of modern digital infrastructure, they are a critical element in the global balance of power.Taiwan is home to the most advanced and productive chip plants in the world, precariously placing the technology between Communist China and the democratic West. In today's geopolitical landscape, control over semiconductor supply chains is more than just an economic issue; it's a matter of national security. Today on Political Economy, I'm talking with Chris Miller, author of Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology.Miller is a nonresident senior fellow here at AEI, where his research focuses on Russian foreign policy, politics, economics, as well as Eurasian geopolitics and the geopolitics of technology. The Supernatural Fruit of His Light: Goodness, Righteousness, and TruthEphesians 5:8-10 “Once your life was full of sin's darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you-goodness, righteousness, and truth. Then you will learn to choose what is beautiful to our Lord.”Have I told you recently how much I enjoy reading through Ephesians, especially in the passion translation? Everyday I find myself underlining almost the whole section. Yes, I am aware that if I underline all of it, then there is not much point to it because nothing will stand out. Yet, I can't help myself. There is so much wisdom in this book. I am sure they are all probably like that. I am pretty sure I said the same thing while reading Philippians. There were many things that stood out to me today while reading Chapter 5. It was hard to choose one thing to talk about today, so I may stay in Chapter 5 for tomorrow's episode to. We will see. I chose this verse for today for a few reasons. First, I love how it begins. “Once your life was full of sin's darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with him.” This is a great reminder that we are not who we were.Yes, we might have sinned in the past and been filled with the darkness of sin, but that is in the past now. That is no longer who we are. The verse says that because of our union with the Lord, we have His very light shining through us. How amazing is that? God's light shines through you. His light shines through me, too—not because we are special but because we chose to be in union with him.Sometimes, we can get caught up in our past and be tempted to live there. We can take on our sins and that darkness as our identity. We can forget that God has already set us free from that darkness. No matter how bad we think our past is, not matter how bad of a person we think we are, God is bigger than all of it. If you have accepted God, if you have repented for yours sins, then God has already forgotten about them, so why do we hold onto them? I know it is hard to believe that God can forget our sins, but it says so right in the Bible. Actually it says it more thank once in the Bible. Isaiah 43:25 says, “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” And Hebrews 8:12 says, “For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”Scripture is truth. You can hang your hat, as some would say, on anything you find in scripture. You can stand firm on scripture. When scripture says that God does not remember our sins, then you can believe it. I know you don't think you are worthy, none of us do. However, that is what the cross is for. By holding onto our sins, we are basically telling Jesus that we don't believe His sacrifice was big enough to cover our sins. Is this how we feel? Do we feel Jesus's sacrifice on the cross was enough? Was it enough to cover all of our sins? What it enough to cover other's sins, but just not yours? What will it take for us to believe we are forgiven and that God has already forgotten all that stuff we are carrying around with us?The next line says, “Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light!” I love the idea of living as children. Children are so carefree and full of energy, and they are also full of God's light. Kids tend to shine so much brighter than adults do. I know some kids have had a pretty hard life, and you might not see the light shining as brightly in them because this world has tried to snuff that light out. However, kids can hope and believe in a way that is different than adults. They can believe with an innocence that is hard for us a adults.Children can believe with wonder and awe. They can look at the world and see all the good things, they can see the beauty, the can see the potential. As adults, our view of the world is filtered through the lens of all of our experiences over the years. I think in this verse, God is calling us to come back to Him as little Children. I think he calls us to live in His light and let his light shine into all the dark parts of our lives. The verse tells us that our mission is to be flooded with this light, His light. The final line in this scripture says, “And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you-goodness, righteousness, and truth. Then you will learn to choose what is beautiful to our Lord.”God is not just telling us to live as children but He is explaining what will happen if we obey. If we live like children and allow ourselves to be filled with the light, then the fruit of that light will be seen in us. The supernatural fruit of God's light is goodness, righteousness, and truth. Who couldn't use more of those in our lives? Do you long to see goodness, righteousness, and truth in your life? If so, how could you live more as a child who is flooded with the Lord's light?Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those who are listening to this episode today. Lord, help us to live as children who are flooded with Your revelation-light. Help us to choose what is beautiful to you Lord. Help us to realize our lives are not filled with the darkness of sin. Help us remember that we now have the very light of our Lord shining through us because of our union with You. We love you Lord, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus's holy name, Amen!Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. Waging and winning a nuclear war have been called “thinking about the unthinkable” but that's exactly what Edward Kaplan and I discussed in our interview about his recent book, The End of Victory: Prevailing in the Thermonuclear Age (Cornell UP, 2022). The current Dean of the School of Strategic Landpower at the US Army War College, Kaplan recounts the costs of failure in nuclear war through the work of the most secret deliberative body of the National Security Council, the Net Evaluation Subcommittee (NESC). From 1953 onward, US leaders wanted to know as precisely as possible what would happen if they failed in a nuclear war―how many Americans would die and how much of the country would remain. The NESC told Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy what would be the result of the worst failure of American strategy―a maximum-effort surprise Soviet nuclear assault on the United States. Kaplan details how NESC studies provided key information for presidential decisions on the objectives of a war with the USSR and on the size and shape of the US military. The subcommittee delivered its annual reports in a decade marked by crises in Berlin, Quemoy and Matsu, Laos, and Cuba, among others. During these critical moments and day-to-day containment of the USSR, the NESC's reports offered the best estimates of the butcher's bill of conflict and of how to reduce the cost in American lives. Taken with the intelligence community's assessment of the probability of a surprise attack, the NESC's work framed the risks of US strategy in the chilliest years of the Cold War. The End of Victory reveals how all policy decisions run risks―and ones involving military force run grave ones―though they can rarely be known with precision. Andrew O. Pace is a historian of the US in the world who specializes in the moral fog of war. He is currently a DPAA Research Partner Fellow at the University of Southern Mississippi and a co-host of the Diplomatic History Channel on the New Books Network. We're not at war with Communist China, but Communist China is at war with us. It's been waging a chemical war against our people for years. And it's winning.More than 100,000 Americans are dying from drug overdoses every year, and the real number is likely much higher than the one we get from the government. It also doesn't include lives saved from emergency doses of Narcan.Today, Sara welcomes Derek Maltz to discuss how this problem keeps getting worse and Joe Biden's open border makes this chemical warfare easier than ever for China to wage.Maltz served with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for 28 years and also spent 10 years as the Special Agent in Charge of the Justice Department's Special Operations Division. No one advocates more fiercely or tirelessly for the families ripped apart by these poisons flooding our streets than Derek Maltz.Today, Sara and Maltz preview their Border 911 conference scheduled for Wednesday in Chicago, the dramatic influx of poisons even beyond fentanyl onto our streets and what communities around the nation must do to fight back effectively against this chemical warfare. In addition to fentanyl, Sara and Maltz explain how marijuana is produced with much higher levels of THC, leading to many cases of "marijuana psychosis". There's also fentanyl mixed with drugs like xylazine, which literally eats away at the flesh of addicts. Both Sara and Maltz have seen this first hand while working in Philadelphia. It's a war that impacts every community in this nation. And only one side is fighting it. Yahrtzeit Yomi #1059!! טו אייר Rav Avraham Eliyahu Kaplan רב אברהם אליהו ב״ר אברהם אליהו (1890 - 1924) ON HIS 100TH YAHRTZEIT!! ---------------------------------------------------- A little more than a century ago, 17-year-old Avrohom Eliyahu Kaplan composed an all-time classic poem titled Shakah Chamah, a ballad of mussar that speaks to the futility of life. For many years, the poor, lonely, and sick have found company in these meaningful lyrics. In truth, this young tzaddik faced personal challenges, beginning even before his birth: Avrohom Eliyahu was named after his father, who was known as the Rakover Iluy and who died a few months before he was born. Avrohom Eliyahu, a passionate and fiery young man, first attended the Talmud Torah of Kelm. After a short while, he moved on to the Slabodka Yeshiva, where he learned with great hasmadah, under the tutelage of the famed Alter of Slabodka, Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel. Waging battle against the forces of secular Zionism and Haskalah from the time that he was a young bachur. Avrohom Eliyahu utilized his unique talents to write fearless essays and enthralling poems in the areas of Torah, Mussar, and Yiras Shamayim. A talented musician, he composed a number of mesmerizing songs, as well. One incredible story personifies his gadlus. Rav Avrohom Eliyahu was present at the Sheva Berachos of a Slabodka talmid, Rav Aharon Kotler, who married Chana Perel Meltzer, the daughter of the great Rav Isser Zalman. In honor of the celebration, Rav Aharon delivered a two-hour shtickel Torah. After he finished, Rav Avrohom Eliyahu stood up and promptly repeated the entire shtickel… in grammen form! When, years later, an incredulous talmid shared this story with Rav Yaakov Yitzchak Ruderman, rosh yeshivah of Ner Israel, he responded that it is certainly possible, as such was the brilliance of Rav Avrohom Eliyahu. Rebbetzin Ruderman, the daughter of Rav Sheftel Kramer and first cousin of Rebbetzin Kotler, overheard the conversation and shared a postscript. “Not only is it possible that it happened, but I was there! And Rav Isser Zalman's son played the violin as Rav Avrohom Eliyahu sang the grammen.” Although Slabodka emphasized gadlus ha'adam, the greatness of man, Avrohom Eliyahu composed the words to Shakah Chamah with an altogether different mindset. Drawing forth from the sobering teachings of RavYisrael Salanter, the father of the mussar movement, the lyrics portray a tormented young man infused with yiras Shamayim, who tries to wage war against the relentless efforts of the yetzer hara, yet finds his neshamah, his soul, sinking into the emptiness and darkness of the abyss. ...(for remainder of tribute see WhatsApp group) --------------------------------------------------- Share the Yahrtzeit Yomi link with your contacts!! https://chat.whatsapp.com/JimbwNtBaX31vmRDdnO3yk --------------------------------------------------- To dedicate or sponsor, please contact 917-841-5059, or email yahrtzeityomidaily@gmail.com. “Qataris were the ones who said, ‘Here, come to our country, we'll host you.' So, now it is home to the largest American airbase in the Middle East, where we conduct our war on terrorism. And then down the street from this Al Udeid Air Base is Hamas, the Taliban, al Qaeda financiers, ISIS financiers … it is a truly bizarre arrangement.”Dr. Jonathan Schanzer is senior vice president of research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. He's also a former terrorism finance analyst at the U.S. Treasury Department, and the author of several books on Islamic extremism.“The Muslim Brotherhood is one of the largest, if not the largest, grassroots political and religious organizations in the Middle East, and it is the cornerstone for just about every radical ideology that we have seen and faced over the last two decades since the 9/11 attacks,” says Dr. Schanzer. We discuss the role that Qatar has played in international geopolitics, commanding vast influence campaigns in the West and funding an array of terrorist outfits in the East.“The Qataris have been able to sustain it with a massive amount of lobby money and investment here in the United States, and so some of its greatest proponents are the Pentagon and the State Department. And they've gotten to the point where it's almost as if they can do no wrong—until 10/7. That's when it, I think, began to become clear to the average American that the Qataris are playing both arsonist and firefighter. They spend $200 million a year propping up Hamas in the Gaza Strip. They give Hamas headquarters in Doha. And then as soon as the crisis hits, they are trying to negotiate between the United States and Israel and Hamas, pretending to be a good-faith actor. But at the end of the day, I think we all have realized that they are advocating first and foremost for Hamas.”Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

From October 4-6 of this year, the US experienced the largest healthcare worker strike in our history, when over 75,000 workers with the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions went on a three-day strike against the healthcare giant Kaiser Permanente. Then, on October 13, after warning that more strikes could be coming if a deal wasn't reached at the bargaining table, healthcare workers scored a major victory and reached a tentative agreement with Kaiser, which the union membership, accounting for over 85,000 Kaiser Permanente workers across the country, voted to ratify in early November. As the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions stated in a press release upon the contract ratification, “In a historic victory for frontline healthcare workers, more than 85,000 Kaiser Permanente workers have overwhelmingly voted to ratify a new contract that will bolster patient safety, make critical investments in the healthcare workforce, and set a higher standard for the healthcare industry nationwide. Approved by a margin of 98.5%, the four-year contract is in effect from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2027, at hundreds of Kaiser facilities across California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.” In this mini-cast, we speak with Meg Niemi, President of SEIU Local 49, and Audrey Cardenas, a benefits support specialist at a Kaiser dental office in Oregon, about how Kaiser healthcare workers took on the bosses and won this new contract, and what that is going to mean for workers and patients alike moving forward.
