The Montana Supreme Court has ruled 5-2 that the Montana Department of Environmental Quality did its job correctly, and quite well, actually, in permitting the Black Butte Copper Project. It's a rare “on all points” court win for resource development. […] The post High Court Gives High Five on Black Butte Copper Project first appeared on Voices of Montana.
Ora Banda's (OBM) got the ball rolling today with exploration results, a company update then bang! Capital raise. Next cab off the rank was West African (WAF) with an update on Kiaka, then Core Lithium (CXO) cancelling their mining services contract followed by a deep dive into two diverging mining services plays, Dynamic (DDB) and Vysarn (VYS). Sandfire (SFR) received good news for their Black Butte project, whilst Strike Energy's (STX) management looked to reassure shareholders and Azure (AZS) got another tick of approval. All Money of Mine episodes are for informational purposes only and may contain forward-looking statements that may not eventuate. This week on the Montana Outdoor Podcast your host Downrigger Dale talks to Nancy Schlepp, VP of Communications & Government Relations and Jerry Zieg, Senior Vice President of Black Butte Copper. Rigger had heard all kinds of rumors about this proposed copper mining project near White Sulphur Springs for years, some good and some bad, and then he got emails from listeners asking that he investigate it by going straight to the source with his podcast microphone. So that is just what he did, and boy was he surprised, so much so that he already has plans to do a part 2 to this podcast, right at the mine site! When you click here to listen to this week's podcast you will learn a TON about the Black Butte Copper project. Things like; how far along is this project? Is there a pending decision coming from the Montana Supreme Court? Are the nearby waterways of Sheep Creek and the all-important Smith River going to be at risk? What kind of effect, if any, will it have on the wildlife in the area? How many people does Black Butte Copper currently employ? When it is up and running how many people will it employ and how much will the average miner make? What about infrastructure for the town of White Sulphur Springs, who will help pay to increase the size of things like schools, hospitals, etc.? And those are just some of the questions that Downrigger asked Nancy and Jerry. This just might be one of the most important podcasts you will listen to this year so DO NOT PASS THIS ONE UP and for sure, SHARE THIS PODCAST WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW!How about you, do you have questions about all this? Well, first listen to the podcast and then click here to get a snapshot of the Black Butte Copper project. Dry January is coming to a close, but David has one more NA beer to drink, and he goes with Deschutes Black Butte Non-Alcoholic. Gary tries something other than bourbon this week, as a listener was kind enough to provide him with some TX Blended Whiskey after he blind tasted TX Bourbon on Episode 118.Deschutes Black Butte Non-Alcoholic is one of the highest rated NA beers on Untappd, and David said that you know it's good if Deschutes is putting the name and reputation of their highest-selling beer on the label. It's a dark pour and holds up well to the original, which David tried on the show during Flagship February last year.TX Blended Whiskey has notes of vanilla, pear, and is slightly sweet on the nose. The palate is honey butter, banana, and caramel, and the finish is long and smooth with no burn. It won best American craft whiskey at the San Francisco World Sprits Competition in 2013.We also chat about this being a big weekend in the NFL with both of our teams having a shot to square off in the Super Bowl. Speaking of the Super Bowl, Anheuser-Busch is switching up its advertising plan this year, with commercials coming for Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, and Busch Light. Spirits will also be featured for the first time with Crown Royal and Remy Martin cognac.Craft breweries in Cincinnati are getting in on Ohio sports betting, as both Rhinegeist and Taft's have recently added sportsbook partners. Fireball is getting sued for selling mini bottles that don't contain whiskey. You can also watch the full episode of the podcast on YouTube.Make sure to visit Beers and Beards Podcast for a full list of our episodes.Use our NEW code “BeersBeards10” for 10% off at Rivalry Brews as well as 10% off at BeardOctane.com with code BeersBeards10.Support us and get a free trial of Amazon Music by heading over to www.getamazonmusic.com/beersandbeards. The tone was neighborly, but the competition was fierce on Friday night, January 21, 1910, at the Cotton schoolhouse, over at Black Butte, as reported in the Dickinson Press . The box social was so congenial that everyone was asking when the next one would be. The “old fashioned spelling school” after supper was spirited, to the delight of spectators, who held their breath as Mrs. O. C. Belt and J. C. Newkirk went down in the same round, on the same word.

Welcome to the sesh as we dive deep into the Animal Cookies from Black Cat Farms. What a great smoke and we paired it along with Deschutes Brewery's 31st birthday edditon the Black Butte porter but it was the imperial stout version for the limited run. We also poured some 1792 bourban whiskey which was fantastic as well. We covered Montana on this week's cannabis laws. So grab some weed, crack a beer, and join the sesh.

Shoutout to friends of the show Cameron and Miyagi for supplying this week's beers. The first is a DIPA from Treehouse Brewing called "Very Green." It's the Imperial version of their renowned IPA "Green." Like it's smaller incarnation, it's brewed with Australian and American hops and clocks in at 8.3% abv. The second is a barrel-aged version of Deschutes' "Clack Butte Porter." We're drinking "Black Butte³." This batch comes in at a whopping 12.6% abv. We discuss the latest Jim Jarmusch film "The Dead Don't Die." It's a pseudo-political "Zom-Com" that doesn't quote live up to the hype we've built it up for. One fine summer day in Central Oregon, Matthew and a very close friend take a late afternoon hike up to the summit of Black Butte. Their beautiful fungus-enhanced journey to the peak was transcendent and edifying. But the return trip was fraught with peril.
In the Northern part of our wonderful state there is a lot to see. Even from a distance it is impossible to not take notice of the grace and majesty of Mt. Lassen, Mt. Shasta, the Castle Crags, or Black Butte - but hidden between all of that, tucked nicely along California Highway 89 is an old and small state park I first visited a couple of years ago with some friends and family. As soon as we entered on that cool morning we saw deer feeding and heard the roar of a waterfall that one Teddy Roosevelt once called the “*8th Wonder of the World.” See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Welcome back, FDB gang! Today we try Black Butte (pronounced BEUT, so all you third graders stop snickering [looking at you, Tommy]) Porter by Deschutes Brewery. Since opening their doors in 1988, Deschutes has lived by the words, “Do your best, and next time do it better.” This type of thinking has not only guided them through their brewing process, but their sustainability process as well. Their other core values include honoring customers, delivering quality, teamwork, building a healthier society, celebrating the culture of beer, and finders keepers, losers weepers (that last one’s not true, but it still holds up on the blacktop). Black Butte Porter hits you at the forefront with rich chocolate and coffee flavors paired with a lush creaminess and ends with a roasty finish. We also talk with Pastor and self-proclaimed theological hobbyist , Bryan Wolfmueller, who authored the book Has American Christianity Failed? We dive deep into his answer to that very question as well as others. This week on Friends Drink Beer, we check back in with the man who fell through his ex-girlfriend’s roof, debate the correct pronunciation of ‘raccoon,’ get around drinking laws when in space, and much more! Now please kick back, relax, and enjoy another sit down with Friends Drink Beer. To follow Pastor Bryan's work, and read his new blog on beer, visit: www.wolfmueller.co/beer To find out more about Deschutes Brewery, visit them at: http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/ BEER EVENT OF THE WEEK WHAT: Pizza & Beer Dinner WHERE: Uno Pizzeria and Grill in Ellicott City, Maryland WHEN: Wednesday, April 18th at 6pm WHY: Four courses.
