Sworn Identity: An informative discussion of law enforcement.
Being Chief of Police means wearing many hats – leader, listener, problem‑solver, and sometimes, the calm voice in the middle of a storm. Every day brings new challenges, from critical incidents to community conversations, but the goal never changes: keep our city safe and build trust one interaction at a time. It's long hours, tough decisions, and a responsibility that doesn't end when the uniform comes off – but it's also an incredible honor to serve alongside the men and women who protect our community.

From Rookie To Chief of Police: His Journey in Ohio. In a special episode available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major podcast platforms, listeners are taken deep inside the world of American law enforcement through the story of Rodney Muterspaw, the retired Chief of Police from Middletown, Ohio. His journey, from a young rookie officer to one of the most respected police leaders in the United States, is chronicled in his brutally honest book, The Blue View, and shared across Facebook, Instagram, and other major news platforms. A Three-Decade Rise Through the Ranks Muterspaw's career is the embodiment of the theme “From Rookie to Chief of Police.” Born and raised in the Middletown area, he began as a patrol officer and steadily moved through the ranks: Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and ultimately Chief of Police in January 2015. Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. It was a full spectrum career, one that exposed him to every triumph and hardship policing can offer. The Book That Was Never Meant to Be Released What makes Rodney Muterspaw's journey stand out isn't only his service, it's the book that came out of it. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. The Blue View began as a private, personal journal he kept for thirty years. As he explains in the interview: “The hardest thing about being a police officer is you have to solve everyone else's problems when you can't even solve your own.” From Rookie To Chief of Police: His Journey in Ohio. Originally never intended for public eyes, these raw entries follow him from his first day in the police academy to his final day as Chief. Readers experience the emotions and pressure of the job, from riding in a cruiser to sitting in the Chief's office, up close and without filters. The book has been praised for its authenticity and for revealing the “behind-the-scenes” reality that most officers never talk about. Politicians, community leaders, and everyday citizens have all commented on its impact. Regardless of one's views on policing, The Blue View provides an essential perspective. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. In Episode 209 of the Transition Drill Podcast, Michael Moulton spent nearly thirty years in law enforcement, rising from patrol officer to the Chief of Police in El Cajon, California. His story is one of dedication, resilience, and leadership, and it resonates with veterans and first responders who understand the weight of service and the uncertainty of transition.Raised in Southern California, Mike grew up with a sense of independence that shaped his path. From riding his bike through a small town to playing football under the watchful eye of a deputy coach, the seeds of service were planted early. When the Rodney King riots unfolded in 1992, he was just graduating high school. That moment pushed him toward criminal justice classes and ultimately into the police academy, where he celebrated his twenty-first birthday. His career was marked by diverse assignments. He worked as a gang detective, took part in narcotics and undercover operations, and served on the SWAT team. Those experiences sharpened his skills and prepared him for leadership. As he promoted through the ranks to sergeant, lieutenant, and captain, Mike discovered the fulfillment of mentoring younger officers and shaping the direction of an organization. By the time he became chief, he was leading through one of the most turbulent eras in American policing.Mike reflects on the challenges of recruitment, the importance of mental health, and the cultural changes in law enforcement. He shares how his department navigated national unrest and how critical it became to protect the wellness of both officers and dispatchers. Now retired, he speaks openly about the transition, the adjustment to life after the badge, and the importance of preparation. We are so honored that today's guest took the time out to chat with us about how to be vigilant, what is proactive and what is paranoia, and the sacrifice it takes to be an officer of the law. Chief of Police for Prospect Park, Pa Dave Madonna is approaching his 30th year in law enforcement and has many words of wisdom for us all. We have known Officer Madonna for many years now, but never got the opportunity to sit down and really ask the important questions…or the questions that Carly has been dying to ask for years now. We learn a lot about the criminal mind and certainly a lot about Carly's mind. It is a jump scare of sorts for it all. Stay tuned to until the end for the shocker of the year! We ask a question that we never thought we'd get an answer to….Dave is officially apart of F2BR history! Also, keep an eye and ear out for his upcoming podcast! It is going to be a good one!
