During this week's Garda Focus, we heard that Gardaí in Shannon are investigating a burglary that occurred at a public house and off-licence in Drumgeeley, Shannon in the early hours of last Saturday morning, the 19th of July. At 3:50am on that date, a person dressed in a grey hoodie damaged the front door of the premises and when they were disturbed, they fled the scene. Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed this person or any persons near the public house and off-licence in the early hours of last Saturday morning to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061-365900. The premises in question was the Carry Out Off-Licence. They posted on social media: “Break-ins, hold ups, assaults, we've had them all. Latest version around 3:50am this morning. If anyone has any information, can you please contact Shannon Gardaí.” Alan Morrissey spoke with Jim Moran, the owner of Carry Out Off-Licence in Drumgeeley, and began by asking him to explain what happened during the latest incident. Inside Kohberger's Mind: Break-Ins, Search History, and the Gloves That Gave Him Away In this episode, we dive deep into the mind of Bryan Kohberger — not through speculation, but through verified evidence and behavioral analysis revealed in the explosive Dateline NBC special. While Chapter 1 laid out the hard forensic and digital facts, this time we're turning the lens toward psychological patterns, red flags, and expert FBI commentary that expose a disturbing escalation in Kohberger's alleged behavior. Retired FBI Behavioral Analyst Greg Cooper joins Dateline to explain what he sees as a clear pattern of "progressive domination." What does that mean? It's the methodical, step-by-step testing of boundaries — and Kohberger, according to newly reported evidence, was allegedly doing just that in the months before the murders. We break down the alleged break-in of a female grad student's apartment, where Kohberger reportedly rearranged her belongings, only to later offer to install surveillance cameras — a move that investigators now believe was staged to allow him to spy on her remotely. It's a chilling story, confirmed by Dateline, that may point to a psychological “rehearsal” before the brutal crimes on King Road. We also examine Kohberger's search history, which included terms like “Ted Bundy,” and graphic pornography involving “passed out,” “drugged,” and “sleeping” individuals — both before and after the murders. These were not random clicks. Behavioral experts say they signal a dark internal world potentially aligned with control, voyeurism, and violent fantasy. Former classmates describe Kohberger's unsettling social behavior, from overly formal follow-up texts to awkward, invasive conversations that made them uneasy. Dateline gives voice to those who noticed something “off” long before his arrest — and only now realize how serious those behaviors may have been. And finally, we unpack Kohberger's post-crime conduct, including his use of latex gloves around the house, bleaching his car, and placing trash into sealed bags he allegedly dumped in a neighbor's bin. His own sister suspected him and reportedly urged the family to check his car — a moment of tension and dread now confirmed on record. This is the side of the case where motive starts to take shape. Not from courtroom drama — but from patterns. From control. From behavior. Happy New Year and Welcome to the Unlovely Truth. I'm your host church safety advocate and coach Lori Morrison. I help ministry leaders assess and address the 12 critical safety issues that exist in every church. Our churches need to be the safest places in our communities, so my mission on this podcast is to give you actionable steps to make your house of worship a true sanctuary in your community. Let's investigate the unlovely truth about real crime stories happening in real churches. I've got three cases to explore today, so let's dive right in. 2025 is a great time to resolve to help your church increase its safety across all areas of potential concern. Since you are listening to the podcast, you're off to a promising start! Proverbs 21:21-22 (NIV) Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity, and honor. One who is wise can go up against the city of the mighty and pull down the stronghold in which they trust. There is so much wisdom packed into these two short verses - it's why I love Proverbs so much. We all want life, prosperity, and honor for our churches, right? Proverbs gives us a simple recipe to create it for our congregations. We simply pursue righteousness. Of course, we can't attain complete righteousness on our own, but only through the sacrifice of Jesus. But here we are told that life, prosperity, and honor can be ours if we just pursue righteousness. I think that looks a lot like doing things the way Jesus would. And if we are wise, we can go up against those who aren't leading well and cast aside the strongholds they hold dear. So I want to ask you: what strongholds are there in your church that get in the way of truly protecting the most vulnerable among you? Point them out and help leaders deal with them so that your church becomes an even more life-giving place for all. Let me know what you think of this episode! Send me an email a lori@theunlovelytruth.com or message me on social media. I love it when people are willing to have hard, but impactful conversations that strengthen physical, emotional, and spiritual safety in our churches. 1- JACKSON, Miss. —The Mississippi Department of Transportation will be closing two lanes in both directions of I-55 over the Pearl River in Jackson for bridge work. Set-up for the project will be underway Tuesday, and shutdowns will start Wednesday on I-55 north and south before The Stacks. MDOT Spokesperson Michael Flood said the project is a hydro-demolition over the north and southbound I-55 bridges. Workers will blast away the old road foundation. "It is basically like you are pressure washing, but you are on a construction scale, so it blasts out all the asphalt, concrete that is on top of that bridge deck, and it goes all the way down to the rebar," Flood said. "Then they check the rebar to see the shape that it is in." They will repair the sections that need it and come back with a complete overlay. But it's no small job and not one that will be handled overnight. MDOT said it is a 24-7 operation that will take until the end of the year to complete. According to MDOT, The Stack has more than 113,000 vehicles traveling daily. Commuters who travel the bridge daily said this project is not going to be easy. "We have got alternate routes posted on our website, like I-220 to get around it if you're headed north. You can also use highways 468 and 475 to Lakeland Drive to get around it, as well," Flood said. MDOT said the work is needed to extend the life of the bridges. 2- Family Adventure Park Urban Air spoke out about a series of vehicle break-ins that happened Saturday while the owners were enjoying their time in the park. They shared more on how the situation unfolded. "Whenever the people were coming back up, our security was actually walking in and it was brought to his attention and he immediately jumped into action to help those people," said Tim Kempt, manager at the park. Kempt said they have a good relationship with Jackson police, as they patrol the parking lot for urban air at no cost. Jackson police Chief Joseph Wade shared the problems these break-ins cause not only for law enforcement, but the community as well. "The first issue is that now we have another stolen gun on the streets of Jackson. Now, we are only adding to the availability and accessibility of guns in our community. And also, we have a population of individuals within our community that continue to pillage and plague our community with gun violence specifically," Wade said. Wade is asking the community to lock their doors and take their weapons out of their vehicles, especially when going out to public spaces. "I ask that the public to please take the guns out of their vehicles at night, please do. I think it's a precaution, well I know it's a precaution for law enforcement and your fellow citizens in the city of Jackson," Wade said. Kempt said they just want the community to feel safe and enjoy the park. "We are just a place where people can have fun, eat, and enjoy time with their family," Kempt said. The break-ins are still under investigation, and Jackson police have not arrested any suspects at this time. 3-PEARL, Miss. (WLBT) - A man died after a vehicle accident in Pearl on October 10. The Pearl Police Department says the incident happened around 11:17 p.m. in the 2300 block of Highway 468. A press release says the first officer who arrived at the scene witnessed a male fleeing the accident and running on Highway 468 toward his patrol vehicle. As other officers arrived at the scene, they found the wrecked vehicle around 100 yards away from the male. There, they found a woman with severe head trauma. Officers requested additional medical services and started caring for the victims. Authorities say that the male went into cardiac arrest, and medical personnel started CPR. According to the press release, the officer then ordered the male to the ground, and he complied. The male and female were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. According to the press release, the male died at UMMC. The Pearl Police Department also released a statement regarding this incident to dispel social media reports claiming that officers kneeled on the male's neck. "This incident has been reviewed by [the] Administration, and these claims are completely fabricated. This entire incident was captured on body and dash cameras. The individuals responsible for these outlandish claims should be ashamed of themselves for taking a tragic death [and] horrific scene and using it to cause irreparable harm to the community/police relationship. Thank you to the many responsible and reputable news sources who contacted the Pearl Police Department to verify the accuracy of this information prior to publishing fictitious claims."
