Inside today's Locked on Canadiens With the arrival of Gustav Lindstrom, and the term remaining on a few older contracts, what exactly is the Canadiens plan on defence this year? Scott wonders who claims the last two spots, and if Lindstrom or even Chris Wideman are headed to the AHL's Laval Rocket. That is of course, if there is a bad decision to be made at all this year. Then, while the mood around the Canadiens has been far more positive over the course of the rebuild, the hosts take a moment to discuss some of the harsh realities still possibly facing this Habs team. There will still be losses, and there is still more rebuilding to be had, but besides the obvious what other tough lessons should fans be on the lookout for this year? Finally, the host tackle a few leftover mailbag questions from last Friday! Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! FanDuel Make Every Moment More. Our Montreal Canadiens player review series continues with rookie defenseman Kaiden Guhle, veteran defenseman Chris Wideman, and sophomore forward Michael Pezzetta. Guhle was a bright spot in an abysmal Habs season during all the games he was able to play until his injury. Chris Wideman unfortunately did not endear himself as he previously had to the fanbase or the coaching staff. Michael Pezzetta struggled in the early going, even becoming a healthy scratch for a stretch of time, but was able to find his game and what makes him truly great by the end of the year. We discuss these players and award them their season grades. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Inside today's Locked on Canadiens Montreal, fresh off a big win against Washington on Thursday rolled into Toronto and...Promptly got blown out 7-1. The only player who even look like they showed up to play was Samuel Montembeault as the rest of the team was nowhere to be found. After the game Chris Wideman had some comments to the media that did nothing but make the loss sting even worse, Scott will have your recap and reaction. Then it's time for Three Up, Three Down! It's been a really tough week for Cayden Primeau with a rough showing in Detroit, and then in the biggest game of the year for the Laval Rocket, he wasn't up to par. Scott peeks at his numbers and what the future might hold for the young goalie. Also on the down list, some of the lineup decisions in the past week, what is rubbing Scott the wrong way as this season rolls to a close? On the up side, Joel Armia has made the most of his return to the lineup this week, notching a hat trick in Thursday's win over the Capitals. And with the Rocket fighting for their playoff lives, who on the team has stepped up to lead the way for them besides Emil Heineman? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The final week of the regular season is here and there is still a lot left undecided. Frank and Jason did eventually get into the playoff races, but they started off by talking about who's in the driver seat in the race for Connor Bedard. Coming in last only gives a team a roughly 25% chance of landing the first overall pick, but there are a lot of fan bases hoping their favorite teams lose out this week and increase their chances of landing the Regina Pats forward.Last night, the Boston Bruins set the record for most wins in a season. Frank thinks this record has an asterisk next to it and explained why. Jason fought back a little bit on that. They also butted heads during their awards talk, specifically around San Jose Shark's defenceman Erik Karlsson and his Norris Trophy chances. Things got heated as they debated how much voters should value points in the race. They then got into the playoff races for each conference. Pittsburgh and Calgary are both in big trouble, do either have a chance? Frank and Jason debated that before getting into some of the seeding races. There is only one series that's already determined, so there is a lot to play for in the next five days.Tyler Yaremchuk then jumped on for Buy or Sell, which started off with a very cheesy debate. They then got into some of the spicy quotes we got this weekend from Bo Horvat and Chris Wideman. They wrapped it up with some talk about how many 60-goal scorers we could see next season.2:40 - Bedard Watch4:30 - Bruins record season14:20 - Awards talk32:10 - Playoff races49:15 - Buy or Sell Hosted on Acast. The Montreal Canadiens may have lost to the Minnesota Wild, but we wanted to highlight a few bright spots in their game. However, the power play was once again a major story and we look forward to a time where it can finally click and the chemistry is working... to that end, is Arber Xhekaj the answer instead of Chris Wideman? Finally, we talk about some players who had good games such as Kirby Dach, and look ahead to the Buffalo Sabres game and wonder how the Habs can follow in those footsteps. Inside today's Locked on Canadiens: Montreal played a sloppy game against the New Jersey Devils, but overcame their defensive issues with a 7-4 stomping thanks in part to the combination of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield once again. However, it was a full team effort on offence to clinch the game, with some much-needed offence from Joel Armia, Chris Wideman and Christian Dvorak. With Toronto looming on Saturday, can the Habs continue their opportunistic ways? Diving into the mailbag a listener wants to know if there's a trade market for Cayden Primeau and if they Canadiens should be looking for another goaltending prospect in a deal. Scott disagrees given the progress Primeau has made this year, and that there are two very good prospects in Frederik Dichow and Jakub Dobes also in the pipeline. What will Martin St. Louis' coaching staff look like next year? A big question facing Kent Hughes and the Habs head coach is what they do behind the bench in the off-season. RDS made it seem as though a change is imminent when the year is over, and that wouldn't be shocking to either host. However, the question then becomes, how will Martin St. Louis build his staff from there? There's plenty more in the mailbag as well including the hosts biggest surprises this year, who likely gets moved this off-season and...Elden Ring? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
