Okay, level with us, Judge Dredd fans: is the hate mostly about the helmet? The Contrarians are barely familiar with the 2000 AD comics, so it's very likely this Real Talk segment won't reflect the feelings of the average Dredd fan. But surely we can find common ground? Surely we can agree that Stallone looks great? And can this movie be judged as a 90s Sci-Fi Flick, separate from its comic book origins?TIMELINE00:01:26 You Betrayed The Law00:02:13 Real Talk00:57:43 The Future & Patreon Stuff- Interested in more Contrarians goodness? Countdown #424 In some circle, the show must go on. But when it comes to The Countdown Podcast, the a$$e$ must be eaten! So despite Paul coming down with COVID and Wayne completely losing his voice (but not having COVID - go figure), the boys have bravely taken the mic to record the third part of the 8 All the A$$e$ celebration of 8 years of the show, this time counting the very worst films they've seen since the podcast began in March 2015. There are hot takes and squeaky voices aplenty, but at the end of the day it was all worth it to name and shame these filthy films and celebrate the show making such a milestone! And don't forget to join us for Livestream for the Cure VII this coming weekend ... as The Countdown continues! Countdown #401 The new era of The Countdown Podcast is here - with the boys now moving beyond movies and television to talk anything and everything that can be counted down. And to commemorate this massive occasion Wayne and Paul decided they should go straight for the vulnerable part of their psyches and shame themselves publicly for the whole world by recounting their Worst 5 Dating Experiences. Now, they were smart enough to allow people they knew directly to contribute their stories, creating an out for themselves should the stories they tell be too embarrassing to be attributed to themselves. But rest assured this is an episode from the heart, because who hasn't been on a crappy date or wished they could teleport away from the person they're with via a snap of their fingers? Of course, Wayne goes straight into filthy and kinky territory, while Paul, desperately trying to not brand the episode with an X rating, settles on awkward and embarrassing. The result is there's a little something for everyone, as The Countdown, in its new format, begins ... Badass podcaster Don Anelli helps us with a gentle takedown of the Jaws sequels, why the first one shares the appeal of other monster flicks like Alien and Jurassic Park, why on paper the scripts for Jaws 3 & 4 could had worked (yet are mainly hate-watches), why the unofficial Italian trashfest "sequel" is such a hoot and other fin-filled sound "bites."
