In 1986 At the age of 18, Anthony graduated from Vashon High School and moved out with the intent of living life to the fullest. Parties, drugs, alcohol, and women, Anthony was set on being “about that life”. Though he was living his life, he was never far from the Lord. As life continued to happen, God began to deal with Anthony around 1990. People began to witness to him on a regular basis. Thereafter, friends around him began to die, money became scarce, his romantic relationship ended suddenly. It appeared everything was falling apart all around him. As he continued to push forward in his life, uneasiness took root. Going out wasn't as fulfilling as before. One night, after partying, as usual, his desire was only to make it home. Once there, all the numbers he received that night were thrown away and to his knees, he went to surrender his life to the Lord. He made a covenant with the Lord that night, to serve him for the rest of his life. By 1995 he accepted the evangelical call God placed on his life. If you are a caregiver for an older adult, it is important to be aware of the common mistakes often made. These mistakes can cause tension and conflict between the caregiver and older adult and lead to poorer health outcomes. Here are six common mistakes caregivers make and how to avoid them:  Assuming that the older adult doesn't need help. As a caregiver, you will need to identify the right time to provide help and when you should step back and allow the older adult to be independent. ●      To avoid this mistake, try to involve the older adult in tasks. For example, if you are making dinner, ask if they would like to help chop the vegetables. ●      Another way to avoid this mistake is to communicate openly with the older adult about your concerns and why you think they may need help. ●      Observe the older adult. See if they struggle with specific tasks and offer help when necessary.2. Not communicating effectively with the older adult. It is important to remember that our communication skills can decline as we age. It can make it more challenging to have a conversation with an older adult. ●      Try to use simple language when talking to an older adult to avoid this mistake. Wesley Bell is the Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis County, Missouri. Elected in 2018, he is the first African American to hold this office, the chief law enforcement official for Missouri's most populous county with nearly a million constituents. Bell has a policy of aggressively charging and prosecuting violent crimes involving victims. For other, low-level, non-violent crimes, however, he introduced a Diversion Program that identifies defendants with substance abuse and mental health challenges who would benefit from treatment rather than punishment. The failure rate of this Diversion Program as of January 2022 is an astonishingly low 8.4%. More than 90% of the almost 1,500 defendants who have gone through this Diversion Program have stayed out of trouble and are productive citizens of St. Louis County rather than inmates in a Missouri prison. His office also plays a leading role in a multi-agency Jail Population Review Team that identifies defendants in pre-trial detention that can be released without endangering public safety. All of these efforts are based on data-driven decisions; Bell hired the office's first data analyst.Bell introduced the office's first Conviction and Incident Review Unit that investigates and prosecutes police officers and other public officials who commit crimes. This unit also reviews past convictions brought by the office to ensure all past convictions have integrity.Bell also expanded the office's community outreach efforts dramatically. Among many programs and initiatives, perhaps the most successful has been Community Case Review, where community members come into the office to learn about some aspect of criminal prosecution from the prosecutors, investigators, and victim advocates who work these cases.==ABOUT THE ST. Captain Clay Farmer is a native of St. Louis Missouri and has been a police officer for over 20 years, first with the Northwoods Police Department then the Vinita Park Police Department which is now the North County Police Cooperative. He started as a patrolman, worked his way up the ranks, and in 2014 he was promoted to the rank of Captain. Farmer served as the commander of the Dellwood, Pine Lawn, Upland Park, and Vinita Terrace precincts. He also served as a commander over the department's field operations, community engagement, public relations, resource officers, training, housing, communications, recruitment, and drug units. This endeavor can set the standard and be a focal point in the nation by ultimately expanding our mission to the over 900 places in America that have a street named after Dr. Martin Luther King that is currently in a condition that dishonors the man and his memorable life, words and deeds. 7 Signs of a Control FreakControl freaks often struggle to recognize their need for control.1. You aren't a good team player.Joining a team means you have to give up some control. After all, you can't orchestrate everything that happens when you are only responsible for 10 percent of the outcome. Many control freaks prefer to be a lone wolf, so when they must be part of a team, they quickly try to dictate everyone's behavior.2. You believe you are 100 percent responsible for your success.Control freaks believe that, with enough effort and skill, they can accomplish anything. They don't believe in timing or luck. They often say things like, “Failure isn't an option,” and they're overly critical of themselves when things don't go as planned.3. You invest a lot of time into trying to convince other people to change.Most control freaks believe they know what is best for everyone, and try to convince other people to do things differently. Whether they lecture, become aggressive, or manipulate things behind the scenes, the goal is to make other people act a certain way.4. You have trouble maintaining meaningful relationships.No one ever says, “You know what I like about her? She's a control freak.” Control freaks repel people with demands and unsolicited advice. Consequently, they struggle to maintain healthy personal and professional relationships.5. You spend a lot of energy trying to prevent bad things from happening.Rather than prepare themselves for the storm, control freaks try to prevent the storm from coming — even when they can't. They waste time and energy hoping bad things won't happen because they doubt their ability to deal with hardship.6. You don't delegate.A control freak firmly believes if you want something done right, you'd better do it yourself. They refuse to delegate tasks because they're convinced that doing so will ultimately require more of their time since they'll have to fix whatever mistakes someone else makes. If they do delegate, they insist on micromanaging every step of the way.7. You lack compassion for people who make mistakes.Since control freaks believe success stems solely from talent and effort, they lack compassion for those who struggle. They view mistakes as signs of laziness or stupidity, and they think everyone should succeed, regardless of their circumstances.CONCLUSION:Control freaks experience consequences ranging from constant irritability to uncontrollable anger. Does Your Spending Reflect Your Priorities?When most of your money goes toward providing what's most important to you, you tend to live a more fulfilled life and feel more satisfied with the way you spend your money. It's also easier to stick to your personal finance plan when its objectives areto get you what you really want out of life.Because life priorities can differ drastically from person to person, it's important to be aware of your own personal values. What do you really want from life? What kind of lifestyle do you seek? What are your life goals? Does your spending reflect those things?Follow these steps to help determine if your finances are in alignment with your priorities:1. List your priorities. You might notice different levels of priorities as you write yours down. Things like having a place to live and plenty of food to eat are your basic priorities.However, you'll most likely include some “necessary” priorities to ensure a strong future for yourself and your family members, like maintaining good health or providing your kids with a good education.Also, list things you love to do that seem more like “luxury” priorities, like reading, traveling, or playing golf. These might be on a lower level ofpriority than your basic priorities, but, nevertheless, they're still important to you, so include these as well.Now, write down how you spend most of your money. Where does it go? Although you may get annoyed that much of your money goes toward the mortgage or paying rent, the fact is that we all require a roof over our heads. You might consider the type, size, and expense of your home and whether you've gone too far in terms of house expenses. If so, where you live and the mortgage/rent payments might require re-evaluation on your part.Maybe a good portion of your dollars goes to other necessary expenses like groceries and paying your utilities. But what else do you spend your money on?Do you play slot machines on Saturday for fun and end up losing money? Maybe you love to shop and use shopping as a pastime that ends upcosting quite a bit. Perhaps you spend $20 a week on coffee and snacks or $30 a week having drinks with your friends. Thoughtfully consider where your money goes from week to week and write it down.3. Finally, compare your lists. Take a look at your first list, the one with your priorities. Ponder each item; does every item accurately reflect what's important to you? Now examine your second list, the one showing where your money goes. Do the lists appear connected?
