Now, 18 years later, I have Wil on the show to talk about his amazing career that extended far past the high school days! What's great about Wil's story is his determination to get better. We talk about his church mission and how he was able to get back in shape after he returned from that (this is great for aspiring athletes who may serve church missions as well). Many may look at Germaine Roebuck Jr. (Buck) as a professional basketball player and think "oh, he's always been good at ball..." Well let me tell you (or better yet, why don't you let Buck tell you), that this most certainly was NOT the case. Buck rarely saw the floor in high school, but he kept working. He believed in himself and in his own abilities. He found his way to a college program and continued to work. Something many athletes in today's world don't want to do. When they don't see the results immediately, they end up giving up, rather than betting on themselves and trusting the process. Buck KEPT WORKING!! He found himself improving in every place he played. Not every place was a perfect scenario for him, but he kept working. After college he ended up getting an opportunity to play at the professional level overseas. He continued to work (noticing a theme here?) Today you'll get to hear of his story and the lessons he's learned along the way. We'll also learn about his playing time in the BAL (Basketball Africa League) and how the talent level was over there. At the time of this recording, Buck is recovering from an Achilles Injury that he sustained in the off-season. He's currently putting in work to recover and get back on the court fully healthy to continue his career and his passion! Tap in today and learn all about it. And make sure to give Buck a follow on social media so you can watch the rest of his journey along the way! Also, major shoutout to my friend Keshawn Liggins for the assist with this interview. I remember thinking, dang that guy got WAY bigger than I remember him in college and now I know why! Jason played basketball for Boise State University and then went onto play professionally for a few years following. He had stints in the NBA Summer Leagues, and he played with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA D-League (now known as the G-League). He has won championships at various areas and with various organizations. He knows what it takes to win. Now the interesting thing with Jason, is he's only 6'7 so in today's basketball 'standards' he'd be considered an 'undersized' forward. But he found ways to make himself bigger, stronger, faster, and more durable, to where he could make a legitimate impact on the floor! Listen in today and find out about the hard work it took to get to where he was so he could be able to get a paycheck to play the game he loves! It's a great opportunity for those who are truly wanting to play at the next level, to understand the ins and outs of the game of basketball and what it's going to take, on and off the court, to be able to make it! We appreciate Jason for joining us and helping share his knowledge with the rest of us! Make sure you review the podcast on Apple Podcasts so we can get the show out to more and more people! Sean Stoqua has had a VERY unique journey to the professional basketball world. He would be the one to tell you (and he does in this interview), that he has pretty much accomplished what he wanted to accomplish to keep the family traditions alive in athletics, and now he may be looking more to the next step in his professional career (which is in physical therapy). Today we'll hear about his career, where he played both college basketball AND football. In fact, he actually went to the CFL Combine and had an opportunity to play professional football, even though basketball was his main sport. We'll get to hear about all of it today on the show and you'll get to learn some life lessons. How was he able to manage the workload of being a two-sport athlete in college, while also keeping up with his classes. And we'll chat about the different things he learned from football as well as basketball. We talk about the experiences he had as well as what he took from his mentors in each sport. We'll also talk about how he ended up actually playing professionally and how he got to where he is now as a strength coach of one of the organizations overseas! As mentioned, it's a VERY unique story and you're going to hear about how Sean went through injuries and came back stronger and now he's using his knowledge to help others do the same thing! It's basketball, strength training, and much more today on the show! Make sure to give him a follow: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thefixedphysio/?hl=en Website: https://www.thefixedphysio.com/ I also want to give a massive shoutout to Eugene Campbell for connecting me with Sean. Dre was born and raised in Philadelphia, played professional basketball in Lithuania, and transitioned into an entrepreneur and motivational coach who applies the mindset, strategy, and systems he learned from playing pro `basketball into his business coaching career.Today, you'll hear from Dre Baldwin on: Discipline. For Dre, discipline is what separates success from failure. And as a former professional athlete and an entrepreneur who likes to lead by example, he believes that creating a structure to your day and being willing to show up consistently and do the work will eventually deliver results.Mindset. Dre explains that mindset is the foundation upon which success is built, and he follows the Be Do Have philosophy, which involves acting as if you have already achieved the outcome you're striving for. He also encourages people to ask themselves the all-important question, ‘ Who do I need to be as a person?' before they set their goals.Building an effective system. We talk about how to consistently and efficiently employ the same techniques in order to start multiplying your results without multiplying your efforts. Getting started. Dre recognizes that most people like to stay in their comfort zone and get around to doing things slowly and later rather than fast and now. With this in mind, he stresses the importance of avoiding procrastination and resolving to take swift positive action.Setting standards. Dre advises listeners looking to improve their performance in life to set non-negotiable standards centered around achieving their goals and commit to achieving them.Get in touch with Dre:Text 305.384.6894 for Daily MotivationWebsite: Work On Your Game UniversityInstagram: @drebaldwinYouTube: Dre Baldwin - Work On Your Game Connect with John: Sign up for John's free weekly IMPACT video seriesJohn's Website John's LinkedInJohn's Instagram

It was an honor to sit down and talk with a young man who has achieved so much success in such a short time. Dalton became a bit of a local legend in High School where he was named Gatorade high school basketball player of the year in 2009. From there he played for West Virginia (played in the Final Four) and went on to finish his college career at Temple where his final year he averaged around 18 points per game. This landed Dalton the opportunity to play basketball professionally in Europe. For the last 10 years Dalton has played in several countries including Poland and most recently, Italy. As a matter of fact, he liked living abroad so much that he got married and had 3 children! Humility is something that was portrayed by Dalton in this 75 minute chat. Even with all of the shinning spotlights and big moments on the court, Dalton handles life in a calm manner and is able to always stay positive.
