Voice over actor and coach, Ashante Timoll joins me to discuss her transition from sport to career. As a former student- athlete at the Div III level turned assistant coach and eventually Head Coach, Ashante shares what she learned from those transitions and how they have guided her throughout her career. When you can decipher whats happening to you vs whats for you, you then begin to tap into your "unique-ness". Ashante details her uniqueness, her mindset and how she has successfully transitioned from the collegiate ranks to the voice over industry.
On today's episode I sat down and spoke with Zack Goodman, former college hockey players at Wilkes University now turned Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach at Johnson and Wales University, NCAA, Div. III. He opens up about dealing with anxiety and making the transition from playing into coaching. My guest to the program this week is my friend and former NHL, AHL, and NCAA coach Troy Ward. Troy had been coaching hockey for many years at the highest levels and most recently in Austria but also has coached in Junior A as well as NCAA Division I and Div III. Troy is also the founder and owner of an amazing summer camp experience called Hockey and Sons which hundreds of fathers and their kids have enjoyed for more than 20 years in Minnesota, the state of hockey. Solon's own EMack Bentley takes us through his path to NCAA Division III hockey starting with the Cleveland Barons, junior hockey in New Hampshire and Texas, and finally onto the campus at Middlebury College in Vermont where he heads into his junior season and is able to combine high-level hockey and academics. Aidan Spellacy and Quinn Warmuth both played at Saint Ignatius and ended up playing NCAA Division I hockey at Robert Morris University, but they had different experiences in between.Spellacy recounts his three-year stint as captain at Saint Ignatius, playing in the famous seven-OT tie in the state title game in 2014, and a successful junior career in the NAHL before becoming RMU's Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2018-19.Warmuth talks about leaving home to play junior hockey at 17 and getting traded three times and playing for five different teams in four years before being summoned to Robert Morris in the middle of the 2019-20 season.

Derek went on to be a 5 Time National Champion, 10 Time All-American, and the 2nd fastest man in the world in Div III 400 meter hurdles behind Olympian Edwin Moses! Derek has been successful in many business adventures since college. He has set records in the "Tactical strength challenges" winning 14 consecutive times. He deadlifted over 600#, and held records in the Kettlebell snatch competitions.
