In this engaging discussion, explore the intricate themes of balance, ethics, and the moral complexities within the Star Wars universe. They delve into the philosophical implications of the Jedi and Sith codes, the nature of freedom fighters versus terrorists, and the ethical dilemmas faced by characters in the saga. Through a thoughtful examination of key moments and characters, the conversation highlights the ongoing struggle between light and dark, both in the galaxy far, far away and in our own lives. In this conversation, the speakers explore the themes of knowledge, power, and balance through the lens of Star Wars, particularly focusing on the Jedi, Sith, and Grey Jedi. They discuss the implications of ignorance in leadership, the complexities of Anakin Skywalker's journey, and the contrasting philosophies of the Jedi and Sith regarding passion, power, and the nature of the Force. The conversation culminates in a discussion about the Grey Jedi Code, advocating for a balanced approach to spirituality and power.
In which the 3-Ds and a V have a very Star Wars-centric discussion about grey Jedi: folks who wield the Force but don't subscribe to the Jedi-Sith orthodoxy. Somehow, the Vicar and Pastor manage to make that a strong parallel with Martin Luther's doctrine that we're all both saints and sinners simultaneously. Then it's on to reviewing the formal codes of each: the Grey, the Jedi, and the Sith. After which Dan realizes he -- and most Americans -- are far more aligned with Sith values than anyone else's. Are the Sith actually libertarians? Is Dan secretly apprenticing with Darth (Rand) Paul? And we round things out with today's game: name your favorite interstellar plague! It's no sterile discussion. ------------- For more of our shenanigans, be sure to follow us on Twitter! Have you ever felt the veil between worlds grow thin? That's precisely what Loren Hughes and I, Claire Sylvan-Wand, discuss as we traverse the beguiling crossroads of the spiritual and psychic in the latest Fairy Whispering podcast. As spring heralds a time of rebirth and beauty, we navigate the wonders of lucid dreaming and the magnetic allure of nature, sharing both personal awakenings and the eerie legend of a fairy painting that seems to breach the boundaries of its frame.Embark on a quest into the enigmatic with our deep dive into the symbiotic relationship between dreams and ancient wonders like the Great Pyramid of Giza. We ponder how dreams that intertwine with historical symbols might offer a key to unlocking higher realms of consciousness. Prepare for tales of guardian spirits and ethereal music as Loren recounts how his family's legend intertwines with the mysteries of the fey – emphasising the wisdom in respecting the unseen forces that playfully yet persistently weave through our lives. In this episode, we don't just tell stories; we connect the dots of a mystical map that guides us to a profound respect for the otherworldly. Guardian spirits, mischievous fairies, and the fey of St. Nectan's Glen come to life through our discussion, reminding us of the ancient wisdom that governs the unseen. Through a lens of awe and reverence, we consider the delicate balance required to connect with these ethereal beings, invoking the Grey Jedi's harmony in the force as a metaphor for our approach. The Star Wars The Last Jedi Trailer has given us something we didn't really understand...the Jedi have been cemented into our beliefs as the end all be all philosophy in Star Wars...so why would Luke Skywalker tell us that they must end? In this video we'll breakdown exactly why he says this (to the best of my knowledge and sources) and what it means for Star Wars The Last Jedi, Rey, Kylo Ren, and of course Luke Skywalker himself. How will this impact Snoke? What about Anakin Skywalker and his possible interactions with his son through the force? Yoda has told Luke that he will be afraid...could this be what Luke is afraid of? His own dark side, or the dark side in general, and how addictive it is? Could Rey be a "Grey" Jedi? Or something entirely different...?? Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode Jonathan and Zach discuss the lesser known, but massive sect of force users known as the grey jedi. Is it an actual order, or just a generalization of people that follow the same path in the force?
A little bit off the conspiracy radar this episode, but an interesting discussion nonetheless. We discuss the concept of the “Grey Jedi” in Star Wars, and how their philosophies compare and contrast to the codes of the Jedi and the Sith. We then talk about examples of Grey Jedi in the films and shows, and end with a comparison of the Grey Jedi to the Libertarian party in U.S. politics. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/conspiracyintheforce/support

There’s much to discuss on this month’s episode of Hyperspace Theories. Tricia, B.J., and Kay begin with a quick look at the recent Star Wars news since our last episode, including reports of Keri Russell and Billy Dee Williams joining the cast of Episode IX, updates to the Lucasfilm corporate website, and the delay of Indiana Jones 5. For the meta segment, we revisit a foundational topic in Star Wars – the Force – from the perspective of the third storytelling trio in The Last Jedi: Rey, Luke, and Kylo Ren. In addition to those characters, the movie and other recent Star Wars tales reveal more insight into the nature of the light side and dark side, and the role of the Jedi Order as an institution in serving, sometimes unsuccessfully, the principle of balance in the Force. We also share our thoughts on some points raised in discussions among online Star Wars fandom on these topics. The storytelling segment centers on the Hero’s Journey for Han in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Unlike the other films of the Disney era, Solo draws upon the classical monomyth framework described by Joseph Campbell, rather than the modern cinematic model developed by Christopher Vogler. This has interesting implications for the structure of the story as well as the portrayals of the main characters. Our world-building segment focuses on an article from Tom & Lorenzo analyzing Rey’s costumes in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Their insights include the symbolism of the colors and clothing styles, as well as interconnections with costumes in previous Star Wars movies for Luke, Han, and Leia.
