Do you want recommendations for some of the best films on streaming to watch this weekend? Well you'd better go somewhere else, because we are once again suggesting you watch Frankenstein Island and Microwave Massacre in this week's episode! Just kidding, we've got some good ones in this episode! Seriously, please listen, we need the downloads!
We now return to our regularly scheduled programming. The boys are back in the saddle reviewing terrible movies from the 80s. Starting with a forgotten turd of a movie that should've been left forgotten.

Friend of the show Leigh requested the boys review 1979's Microwave Massacre and Adam and Jared duly comply. Fair to say its a tough watch with quite a bit of discussion around making a baloney sandwich and whether or not buying 1 kilogram of Devon is a smart move. Strap in as it's a wild ride. We also include what we've been watching recently.
Author and raconteur Miles Watson joined us to talk some UFC and assorted nonsense, and then we reviewed "Microwave Massacre." Jank and Miles then closed things out by discussing the Top 11 Buffy/Angel Creatures. Yeah, I don't get it either, but what can you do! They heart Buffy.
It's time for another bonus episode, baby - live, uncut, and (mostly) undrawn. We scrolled through Tubi and found an interesting-sounding movie that we've never seen before. The boys are taking the week off - they're sure you're going to miss the riveting Microwave Massacre discourse they had planned... Instead, the Patreon vault has been opened this week for non-subscribers. Listen to the first episode of After Hours NOW: Scott's hungover and swiggin' from a bottle of Malort, so it just made sense for this to be the episode where he explains why he left The Mutant Fam. Steve explains his perfect Marxist paradise, and the lads together come to the obvious conclusion that they are, in fact, insufferable elitists. But hey! Self-awareness is better than no awareness. The last week of Hack to School is upon us, and the class is body shop... as in... Student Bodies shop. Boom. We truly save the best punny title for last. This week we ponder, Is Student Bodies the Naked Gun of Horror? Never seen it? Well, as of the time of this recording, it was free on Pluto TV... even if Pluto TV is the most annoying free streaming app since the times of a town crier yelling nonsense with a clangy bell. The film was written and directed by Mickey Rose with contributions from Michael Ritchie as "Allen Smithee." Rose was an early contributor of Woody Allen. A key consideration in this film is its history and its contemporaries. We create a timeline of horror form the 60's to the time of the film's release, so show what the filmmakers had to rely upon, then the films that came out the same year to show its competition. I'll just copy and post some of those titles for the metadata here: 1960- Peeping Tom, Psycho; 1963- Blood Feast; 1971- A Bay of Blood; 1972- The Last House on the Left; 1974- Black Christmas, Texas Chainsaw; 1976- The Town that Dreaded Sundown, Alice, Sweet Alice; 1977- The Hills Have Eyes, Martin; 1978- Halloween, The Toolbox Murders, I Spit on Your Grave; 1979- The Driller Killer, When a Stranger Calls, Microwave Massacre, Tourist Trap; and 1980- New Year's Evil, Christmas Evil, fade to Black, Friday the 13th, Mother's Day, Prom Night, Terror Train, Motel Hell. Bildmaterial: © Arrow VideoIntro-/Outro-Song: © Aidan Finnegan (https://soundcloud.com/triadaudioofficial)

Today on the 5: I followed up the lengthy and serious Zack Snyder's Justice League with something completely different, 1979's Microwave Massacre. It's a movie that truly embodies the idea of a one trick pony.
This week on Slasher Street Podcast we discuss 1979's Microwave Massacre! Starring Frosty the Snowman himself, Jackie Vernon who plays Donald, a disgruntled construction worker who just wants to have a baloney and cheese sandwich, but turns to cannibalism with the help of his microwave after getting sick of his wife's terrible cooking! In a special edition of our intermittent "Late Night on the 5th Wall" Mike and Jarod sit down to discuss a truly great schlock film that went under *literally everyone's* radar: Microwave Massacre! Fun fact, this episode originally featured our dear friend Cody Nesbitt, but unfortunately due to technical difficulties, he was unable to provide his share of the audio. Rest assured, through the magic of editing (and really, prodigious amounts of talent), we were able to stitch this bad boy together better than Frankenstein's monster.

In this episode, our poorly drawn farce is forced to watch an ever poorer drawn farce. Microwave Massacare is truly an awful movie, probably the most inanely made film we've watched in our time doing this. With a poor imitation of Rodney Dangerfield at the helm, even strange looking breasts and cannibalism can't save this nonsense. We debated even airing this episode because we were afraid that our energy was so low it might drag everything down, the pod surprisingly stays pretty active. No really. Aaron listens to all of them and edits (sort of) and he was quite surprised that this one doesn't actually suck. The above possibly written by Aaron.
