Best Pick with John Dorney, Jessica Regan and Tom Salinsky Episode 317. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Released 30 April 2025 Today we watched two contrasting episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. We kicked off with an episode from the fifth season, the celebratory romp Trials and Tribble-ations in which the 24th century crew revisits the action of the classic original series episode The Trouble with Tribbles. Pretty much all the senior writing staff had a go at this one. The story is credited to Ira Steven Behr, Hans Beimler and Robert Hewitt Wolfe and the teleplay to Ronald D Moore and René Echevarria. It was directed by Jonathan West, and it was first shown on 4 November 1996. We followed this up with In the Pale Moonlight from towards the end of the sixth season, airing on 15 April 1998. The story is by Peter Allan Fields and the screenplay is credited to Michael Taylor, although Ronald D Moore heavily rewrote it. It was directed by Victor Lobl and it earned the full five stars from me (in fact, both episodes did). These and hundreds more episodes are covered in the second volume of my Star Trek chronicle which is now available from all the usual places, including… From the publisher https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Star-Trek-Discovering-the-TV-Series-Hardback/p/51781 UK Amazon https://amzn.to/4lzI1hN US Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Discovering-Voyager-1993-1999/dp/1399034995 UK bookstore https://www.waterstones.com/book/star-trek-discovering-the-tv-series/tom-salinsky/9781399034999 US bookstore https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/star-trek-tom-salinsky/1146305492?ean=9781399034999 To send in your questions, comments, thoughts and ideas, you can join our Facebook group, find us on BlueSky https://bsky.app/profile/bestpickpod.bsky.social or email us on bestpickpod@gmail.com. The Ascent (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9), S5 E9) was recommended by Matt Kennedy he/him, who said: Hi guys! This is my first recommendation - I've been listening for a while now and I adore the show, and it's taken me a long time to decide which episode I want to recommend. And it's got to be The Ascent. This is a wonderful showcase for the "enemies with benefits" Quark and Odo. And the reason I love this episode is because, as someone who is firmly on Team Space Goblin, this is one of the few times where Odo gets called out for his bulls*** - I always scream and cheer when Quark calls him a fascist to his face. But this is classic Trek, because as much as they hate each other they have to learn to work together in order to survive. The B plot parralels this, with Jake and Nog learning to live together as roomates, while Sisko finds an unexpected ally in Rom. This episode is about being open to each other's differences and for that to lead to acceptance. The Ascent first aired on November 25, 1996, written by Ira Steven Behr and Robert Hewitt Wolfe, and directed by Allan KroekerForced to crash-land on a desolate planet, Odo and Quark must climb a mountain to transmit a distress signal. Jake and Nog (temporarily back at DS9) find sharing quarters isn't as enjoyable as they thought it would be.The Joy of Trek is hosted by Khaki & Kay, with editing & production by Chief Engineer Greg and music by Fox Amoore (Bandcamp | Bluesky)Send us your recommendations, or support us on Patreon.Find us at joyoftrek.com · Twitter · Facebook

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Series 5, Episode 20. First broadcast on Monday 21 April 1997. Again, the story doesn't really have a legitimate theme, it's just More Ferengi Farce, but without any solid laughs. In fact, I'd put “Ferengi Love Songs” on or near the bottom of the Ferengi episode list. Jamahl Epsicokhan, Jammer's Reviews It's all pretty trivial and unamusing. The only reason this is watchable at all is that Armin Shimerman is so accomplished. Moogie is right – leave your action figures in their original packaging. Tom Salinksy, Trekaday It was a show that worked well in dailies, in little snippets, but put it all together and you're saying ‘Enough already!'" Ira Steven Behr, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion – I don't think that that episode was as good as either A Night in Sickbay or Genesis, but I do think it was pretty fun, and I'm glad that Deep Space Nine does it. – Yeah, I don't think that was an amazing episode, but pretty fun, I'll take. Nathan and Joe, Untitled Star Trek Project
The Magnificent Ferengi (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9), S6 E10) was recommended by Tana he/they, who said: Sometimes Trek takes the serious gloves off and just has a fun romp and this may be one of the best examples. The Magnificent Ferengi first aired on May 14, 1993, written by Ira Steven Behr & Hans Beimler, and directed by Chip ChalmersQuark mounts a rescue mission when his mother, Ishka, is captured by the Dominion and Grand Nagus Zek offers a reward for her return. The Joy of Trek is hosted by Khaki & Kay, with editing & production by Chief Engineer Greg and music by Fox Amoore (Bandcamp | Bluesky)Send us your recommendations, or support us on Patreon.Find us at joyoftrek.com · Twitter · Facebook

Little Green Men (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, S4 E08) was recommended by Blackrain, who said: When you ask for an episode, I thought hard about for one. Thinking over all the past Star Trek series I have watched and this was the first episode that popped to my mind. I've always found it fun when Sci-fi TV shows would try to put their twist on the Roswell alien crash conspiracy theory. Whether you believe it's true or not each take on it is wonderful to see. Star Trek was just another one to jump on the Roswell crash boat, but didn't have the normal DS9 bridge crew crash land a earth. Nope they had the Ferengi's. Quark, Rom, and Nog. It had the classic first contact tropes miscommunication, the 1940s human biases and conspiracy minded, all topped off with Quark being a Ferengi trying to sale stuff to the hu-mans. Love how Quark says hu-man. This was also one were Rom starts showing his start and dominant side to Quark. Just look at Rom's face at the end of the episode. No words are say, but you know what he is thinking and he has that mischievous grin on his face.Ya'll said in a past episode a lot of people didn't like didn't like the episode with the Ferengi's in them. I love all the episodes that have Ferengi's in them or feature them. DS9 really helped to develop and advance what their culture and species was from when they first showed up in TNG.BlackRain's podcast can be found here! Profit and Lace (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, S6 E23) was recommended by Lauren Alexis Rivers She/Her, who said: While I saw this episode long before I knew I was trans, I always love this episode because the Ferengi centric episodes are never afraid to have fun. Exploring the Ferengi culture and the slow march towards equality, we see Quark forced to step in as a Ferengi female after his arguments with his mother reach a boiling point. But not only is it a brilliant performance by Armin Shimerman but it's a really fun look at the Ferengi family and an unquestionable sign that Quark really does love his mother, flaws and all.Profit and Lace first aired on May 13, 1998, written by Ira Steven Behr & Hans Beimler, and directed by Siddig El FaddilThe Joy of Trek is hosted by Khaki & Kay, with editing & production by Chief Engineer Greg and music by Fox Amoore (Bandcamp | Bluesky)Send us your recommendations, or support us on Patreon.Find us at joyoftrek.com · Twitter · Facebook
Bar Association (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, S4 E16) was recommended by Crimson, He/Him, who said: It's the Union Episode, what's _not_ to love about it? Is it Grand Epic Dominion War stuff? No! Is it Far Beyond the Stars? No! But is it still infuriatingly relevant, just like listening to an old Jim Crose or Woody Guthrie song? Absolutely! Does it also feature O'Brien hamming it up about all his unionmen ancestors who died horrible deaths at the hands of cruel bosses, a fact about which he's quite proud, as any good Irishman would be? Absolutely! (Now, is this the correct way to go about forming a union? Absolutely not! They jumped way in the deep end w/out setting up support correctly, but...oh well. Oh well! Such is Rom.) This is a great episode with basically no room at all for a B-Plot, which I think is just fine. Welcome to the Industrial Workers of the Worlds, Fellow Workers!Bar Association first aired on February 19, 1996, written by story by Barbara J. Lee & Jenifer A. When Ben and Adam got to see an early preview of the DS9 retrospective in 2019, they sat down to record a bonus episode about everything it brought to light. But with Voyager's own documentary on the way soon, how will it compare without a Shat or an Ira to center himself in the story. Who was responsible for a prison experiment at the live screening? Why is this production so kind to Rick Berman? What type of director wouldn't have used Meredith Brooks? It's the episode that feels a lot like a Star Trek convention in a box.Friends of DeSoto for LaborSupport the production of Greatest TrekMusic by Adam RaguseaFollow Greatest Trek on Twitter, and discuss the show using the hashtag #GreatestTrek!Greatest Trek on YouTube | Facebook group | Subreddit | Discord | WikiSign up for our mailing list!Get a thing at podshop.biz!
Recommended by Rugger::"I think a problem with a lot of sci-fi is their propensity to one-note species. And Trek is often no exception: The Klingon and honourable and violent, the Vulcans are logical, the Ferengi are profit-obsessed and misogynistic—and then we meet Ishka. This episode is funny, but also manages to really develop and complicate the characters of Quark and Rom while keeping the flavour of Ferengi culture. Ishka criticises Ferengi society, but she is still fully Ferengi, not a stand-in for "humans are the best."Family Business first aired on May 15, 1995, written by Ira Steven Behr & Robert Hewitt Wolfe, and directed by René AuberjonoisThe Joy of Trek is hosted by Khaki & Kay, with editing & production by Chief Engineer Greg and music by Fox Amoore (Bandcamp | Bluesky)Send us your recommendations, or support us on Patreon.Find us at joyoftrek.com | Bluesky | Instagram
HEY BATTER BATTER! Star Trek finally gives in to Michael Piller's love of baseball with The Baseball Episode of Deep Space Nine where Captain Sisko gets the crew together to play against some competitive Vulcans. It's the 25th anniversary of what's probably an oddity for most fans. Think of it like the musical episode of its day... Joining Bryan to discuss the episode where his favorite captain wears the hat for his favorite baseball team is national baseball writer Michael Baumann of FanGraphs.com, who interviewed DS9 showrunner Ira Steven Behr back in 2017 for The Ringer about this very episode. Bryan and Michael did not wind up agreeing on the appropriate grade for this one so it's up to YOU, Dear Listener, to break the stalemate! [Episode review begins at 20:48] Tony and Laurie start the podcast with Akiva’s comments about the “undeniable” appetite for a Star Trek: Legacy show as well as Patrick Stewart’s wish for a Picard movie. They give some details on the upcoming Picard Blu-ray and DVD set and the “Picard Legacy” limited edition set, the upcoming Star Trek: Infinite game, and IDW’s new Star Trek: Picard’s Academy series, along with a long-awaited audiobook from DS9’s Andrew J. Robinson. They cover the latest news on Strange New Worlds (including fan reaction to Akiva’s canon comments and new info on Carol Kane’s Pelia). The rest of the pod is their review of the newest episode, “Ad Astra per Aspera,” comparing it to other Trek courtroom episodes as well as seeing how it fits into SNW lore. They both liked the episode a lot, but still have their nitpicks. They wrap things up with a look at two different podcasts: Trek Politics with Mary L. Trump and Bob Cesca and the SyFy Sistas with Ira Steven Behr.

Matthew (he/him) and Jo (they/them) assure you that all the stories you have heard about “The Wire” is true, especially the lies. Matthew and Jo debate Garak's drug influenced storyline and Star Trek acting, they establish Bashir's sexuality as not straight or gay but narcissist and will fuck anyone who loves him the way he loves him and we wonder why we are supposed to believe Bashir's shock that his former nazi spy friend may have done some bad stuff. We spend a little extra time discussing civilian surveillance. Jo rants about the unimpressive introduction to The Obsidian Order and Matthew challenges Ira Steven Behr to a round of Goldeneye. As always, be prepared that spoilers may be lurking around every corner just like Garak on Empok Nor.Subscribe for weekly recaps of Star Trek Deep Space Nine, follow us online at @TerokNoir on Twitter for silly memes and polls and contact us by e-mail at teroknoirpod@gmail.com

Writer/Producer Richard Kahan was born and raised in the open prairies of Canada, and has worked in film and television for over 25 years. Richard got his start as an actor and appeared in over 100 hours of television and various films, starring opposite the likes of Dennis Hopper. In addition to his series regular role on USA Network's Emmy-nominated THE 4400, he made dozens of guest appearances including THE MENTALIST and GREY'S ANATOMY. Richard followed his passion for writing and producing, under the wing of his mentor, prolific writer/producer/showrunner Ira Steven Behr. Richard worked on Sony Television/Starz multi Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series OUTLANDER, writing one of the highest rated episodes of the hit series. Richard went on to produce LUCKY, a feature film that marks the final performance of screen legend Harry Dean Stanton, with a supporting cast that includes David Lynch, Ron Livingston, Ed Begley Jr., Tom Skerritt, and Beth Grant. The film, which is also the directorial debut of celebrated character actor John Carroll Lynch, made its premiere at the SXSW Film Festival. LUCKY was received with both critical and financial success, selling to Magnolia Pictures for theatrical release in North America, as well as over 50 international markets. In addition to his work on LUCKY and OUTLANDER, Richard wrote and produced THE ELEVATOR, a web series starring William Shatner, adapted Christal Presley's successful memoir THIRTY DAYS WITH MY FATHER, was hired to write and produce LIFELINE, a feature film for Academy Award-winning The Lagralane Group (Netflix's ICARUS) and produced KILLING ELEANOR, a feature film starring Jenny O'Hara, Annika Marks, Jane Kaczmarek, Betsy Brandt, and Camryn Manheim, released by 1091 in October. Most recently, Richard was hired to write PONZI: PURE AND TRUE, a feature film based on the preeminent Charles Ponzi biography by Donald Dunn, and is currently writing on AMC and Spectrum's highly anticipated television series BEACON 23, based on Hugh Howey's bestselling novel, and set to star GAME OF THRONES' Lena Headey. Captain Picard and Indiana Jones. Wise, measured, and distinctly unromantic, Captain Jean-Luc Picard was conceived from the start as very different from his predecessor, James T. Kirk. But for Patrick Stewart, the lack of physical drama felt creatively unsatisfying. In October 1988, he wrote a letter to Gene Roddenberry outlining his desire for Picard to get some “action”—in more ways than one. It would be over a year before Stewart's request was granted, in the third-season episode “Captain's Holiday.” As writer Ira Steven Behr recalled, the instructions he was given were, “Just get the Captain laid.” This he accomplished, somewhat incongruously, by marrying the normally cool captain with a contemporary action-adventure hero: Indiana Jones. The curious melding stuck, and in episodes such as “The Chase,” “Gambit,” and “QPid,” Picard's passion for archaeology—along with his swashbuckling heroism—added an extra arrow to the good captain's quiver. In this episode of Primitive Culture, recorded last year when the fifth Indiana Jones movie was filming in Glasgow, host Duncan Barrett is joined by Indy super fan Carlos Miranda to compare and contrast these adventuring archaeologists, both returning for their latest escapades well into their golden years. Is the staid life of a university professor—or a Federation diplomat—really compatible with the thrills and spills of derring-do? And what might these two men's fascination with the lives of their ancient forebears reveal about their relationships with the fathers who went before them? Whenever Vic's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking, "where's Vic?" We imagine this was probably a note from Ira Steven Behr as DS9 hurtled towards its end, breaking from the ultra-serialized format the finale has been taking thus far to give us more explicitely separate episodes! First up: Julian and Miles curb stomp ethics for the sake of saving Odo's life by taking a stroll in a dying Sloan's brain in "Extreme Measures"! After that, Sisko gets a new "Defiant" and news of a new baby, Damar gets a new plan, and Ferenginar gets a new Grand Nagus in "The Dogs of War"! Also this week: seriously, where's Vic? Inception Horn. Plate chat. [timestamps: "Measures": 1:42; "Dogs": 37:21]

This week on “The Sassenach Files” I'm talking episode 202 of Outlander: “Not In Scotland Anymore”. Join me, Chelsea, as I discuss the cast of new characters we meet, the implications of Jamie's new relationship with Prince Charlie, and the plight of Murtagh and Claire as they struggle to adapt to the alien world of Parisian society. I also talk about my love of Ira Steven Behr, Terry Dresbach, and John Gary Steele who all blew it out of the park this episode with their respective crafts! Enjoy!!
This week on Episode 463 of Priority One --- We ‘Trek Out' Akiva Goldsman's Batman and Robin apology and what he has to say about Discovery, Bryan Fuller gets candid, and the cast of Star Trek Voyager reunite for a good cause! In Star Trek Gaming, Star Trek Online's No-win Scenario re-emerges, and says “To Hell With Honor,” and lastly we welcome Fazri Zubair of Lucid Sight's Crypto Space Commander! CQ: Would a season long “Year of Hell” be something you'd want to see as dedicated Star Trek Series? Akiva Goldsman Chats with Collider Last week, we told you about a Collider interview with Star Trek producer, director, and writer Akiva Goldsman. On Friday May 29th, the video of that interview was posted to Collider's youtube channel, and it contained a slew of new information. Goldman apologized for “Batman and Robin” - it was heart-felt, but we're not sure it was enough...BUT...he also talked a bit more about Star Trek. Strap in, because this week we've got AUDIO! Goldsman told Collider he was not involved with Discovery's third season, but did have some information on what's to come, saying “So Alex [Kurtzman] has really been deeply involved in the building out of what season three looks like and what that post-Federation future is. I have seen some of it because, you know, we all work together in the same - or we did - place with lots of Star Trek pictures on the wall and editing bays and things, you know. It seems awesome to me. It's not a final frontier but it is a new one.” - Akiva Goldsman Goldsman also revealed an interesting tidbit about Discovery's jump to the distant future: “We all helped build that idea, all the way back to season one. Aaron Harberts and Gretchen Berg, the original showrunners from season one, that idea dates all the way back to that. I think it is a spectacular idea, which is to go post the timeline we know.” - Akiva Goldsman Bryan Fuller Talks “Voyager” Bryan Fuller is to Voyager what Jonathan Frakes is to Next Gen. Every time the man speaks, he leaves juicy audio clips in his wake. This week, the former-Voyager staff writer sat down with the la “Inglorious Treksperts” podcast to celebrate Voyagers Silver Anniversary, and sprinkled trek nuggets all up in our sauce. Fuller discussed the push-and-pull between Voyager's creative team and then-Trek-Head-Rick-Berman, saying: ”I think what was interesting in the evolution of the show, which you could sense the creative struggle. And I witnessed the creative struggle when I was working there. And there was an appetite for these bigger, bolder science fiction stories. And there was a lot of resistance from Rick Berman in embracing them because he was chasing The Next Generation and was not allowing Voyager to be the show that it could be.” - Bryan Fuller But Fuller wasn't done. He went on to describe the writer's room's plan to make one of Star Trek's best two-parters - “Year of Hell” - a season long arc, and Berman's reaction. "The “Year of Hell” and the behind-the-scenes drama around trying to craft not only that episode, but that season, was fascinating because we wanted “Year of Hell” to last the entire season. We wanted to see Voyager get its [EXPLETIVE] kicked every episode and through that season was going to be marbled the story of Annorax and the time ship that was changing things. So, we would go back to it every once in a while to remind the audience that's the larger story. But because Deep Space Nine had made Rick Berman allergic to serialized storytelling, violently so [we did not]” - Bryan Fuller When asked why Fuller thought Deep Space Nine was able to get away with things Voyager wasn't, Fuller pulled no punches. "Ira [Steven Behr] didn't give a [EXPLETIVE] what Rick Berman said, and Brannon [Braga] did. Ira was like, “I don't care, you're wrong. This is what we're doing and fire me if you want to.' He was always like ‘Fire me. If you don't like what I'm doing, fire me, but this is what we're doing. So if you're not behind it, then I suggest you find someone else to do my job'” - Bryan Fuller “Stars in the House” Voyager Reunion After 25 years, a reunion is in order! And that's exactly what happened on Tuesday, May 26th. The cast of Star Trek: Voyager met via Zoom, along with Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley - hosts of “Stars in the House” - to talk Trek - but more importantly - to raise money for “The Actor's Fund” charity. The one hour meeting - which was organized by the “Stars in the House” hosts and Voyager's Robert Picardo - was a fun way to look at Voyager's behind-the-scenes dynamic. Robert Duncan McNeil - portrayer of helmsman Tom Paris and He-Man pal Kevin Corrigan - talked about Kate Mulgrew's first day on set. Mulgrew put on the jumpsuit after the departure of Geneviève Bujold: Voyager's first Captain Janeway. "There was a lot of uncertainty, I guess, when Geneviève left. There was a lot of uncertainty. Was the show going to get made? You know, were they going to make it a male captain? Maybe they couldn't find a female who they felt could do this. And the moment you said the first line on the bridge, personally I felt like ‘this shows going to work. We're going to make it. Now it's is all together.'” - Rober Duncan McNiel Mulgrew, who has expressed interest in returning to the role of Janeway, was eager to ask former co-star and current Picard actor Jeri Ryan about what's going on with Star Trek's newest series. "What's the plan, now, going forward. Nobody knows anything” to which Ryan replied: "We were originally supposed to start shooting in the middle of June, but they would have had to started building the sets in the middle of May, which we can't do So we're just waiting. They're hoping that we can start shooting in the beginning of fall. I don't know.” - Jeri Ryan BLACK LIVES MATTER This week, Priority One: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast did not record its 463rd episode live. It has been our weekly goal to entertain and inform our listeners of the goings-on in the Star Trek Multiverse. We like to consider ourselves an enjoyable distraction to your everyday lives; but, sometimes, it's irresponsible to ignore what is happening in the world. This week in the United States, protests and rioting erupted when George Floyd was murdered by members of the Minneapolis Police Department. Floyd's death, centuries of oppression, systemic racism, police violence, and discrimination of Black and Brown Americans have sparked protests at home and abroad. On June 2nd, Star Trek.com showed its support for the Black Lives Matter movement. A three minute clip of Deep Space Nine's “Far beyond the Stars” starts with a simple message: “Black Lives Matter. Black Culture Matters. Black Communities Matter. We stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues, creators, partners and audience and condemn all acts of racism, discrimination, and senseless acts of violence.” In the article accompanying the video, there is a link to Black Lives Matter's call for a sustainable transition in our communities. We have included a link to the Black Lives Matter petition below. https://blacklivesmatter.com/ Additionally, we're teaming up with trekmovie.com as #TrekkiesUnite against those same injustices and inequalities. https://trekmovie.com/2020/06/03/star-trek-websites-and-podcasts-unite-ask-trekkies-to-support-organizations-fighting-injustice/ Tonight, we cannot pretend to overlook what is happening in the United States. Tonight, we stand with our brothers and sisters fighting against injustice. Tonight, we reflect on #BlackOutTuesday Tonight – and every night – we must remain attentive, we must continually educate ourselves with facts, and we must unite in solidarity to protect this nation – and others - against injustice, tyranny, and oppression. Live Long & Prosper through Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. No-Win Scenario by Advisorypanda The Event Campaign II resumes on June 4th for PC, and on June 30th for console, but at the greatest cost. Apologies to Captain Kirk, but the No-Win Scenario is real and it is here. Playing either the "Arena of Sompek" or "Kobayashi Maru" TFOs every day during the 21-day event will grant you honor and glory, along with 50 Event Campaign Progress and Daily Progress towards the No-Win Scenario Event grand prize. The grand prize includes 3 Featured TFO boxes, 25,000 dilithium ore, and a new account-unlocked ship with Admiralty card: the scaling T4 Kobayashi Maru Freighter for Fed and Fed-aligned characters, and the Tong'Duj Freighter for KDF and KDF-aligned characters. While Freighters are as well-suited for combat as a Ferengi with an ear infection [Ferengi scream here], they offer on-board access to amenities like the Exchange, Bank, expanded Transwarp, and special Trade duty officer missions. Even better, you can go to and from your Freighte's interior from any other ship rather than fully switching between the two. Link to the stats in the show notes. Note that, while it's possible to do everything right and still lose in life, that's not quite true for the event. The event TFOs now have designated end points (Maru at level 6, Sompek at level 7) and cannot be failed before reaching them. Which makes them "Always-Win Scenarios," if we're being honest. Also, the TFOs' untimed/infinite versions will also be disabled but the event TFOs will not have cooldowns. So will you find an honorable end as you fly into the face of certain doom? How many petaQs will you take with you, as the dread tyrant's lighting turns your teammates into scorch marks? You'll have plenty of chances to find out. Pray that today is a good day to die, for you will not see another. To Hell With Honor by Advisorypanda While PC captains are facing their own mortality, console captains will confront J'Ula and attempt to end her spurious sporulation spree. "To Hell with Honor" pits players against the temporally-displaced Klingon matriarch and her Elachi pawns, as they race to destroy House Mokai's ship bases and mycelial rifts on the Beta Lankai moon. The TFO premiered with the 10th Anniversary Event on PC, and is finally making its way to XBox and PS4 from June 2nd through June 30th as its own To Hell with Honor event. This will also be part of the Event Campaign II for consoles, with daily play netting captains 50 Event Campaign Progress and one Daily Progress. The R2-D...sorry, DOT-7 ground drone pet and kit module will unlock for all characters on an account after acquiring 14 Daily Event Progress, along with the usual 3 Featured TFO Boxes and 25,000 dilithium ore. I hope you love Klingon Wagner and the smell of mycelium in the morning: smells like victory. Khitomer Alliance Kit Arrives! by Shane Hoover https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11450753-join-the-khitomer-alliance%21 The galaxy united to fight off the Iconians. Then it united again to defend itself against the Hur'q onslaught. And only recently that alliance came together to design the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser. Now your Star Trek Online captain can proudly wear the uniform and the ship livery of the Khitomer Alliance. As announced via news blog this week, STO are freely giving away the new cross-faction Khitomer Alliance uniform and the new Khitomer Alliance vanity shield until June 16th. To see how you think the Alliance factions may have influenced the new uniform, Trek out the blog link in the show notes. Grab your free giveaway in the Promotions tab on PC now, and soon (TM) on Consoles. Top Tip by AdvisoryPanda In an effort to lend a hand to new players --- or even surprise the most veteran captains in Star Trek Online -- here's our top tip! Control ship builds will frequently center around the Gravity Well ability, drawing enemy ships together to create a cascade of warp core breaches. However, some ship weapons do not play well with this tactic and should be avoided. The Dark Matter Quantum Torpedo and Omega Heavy Plasma Torpedo launchers will cause ships to disintegrate upon defeat, rather than detonate. Avoid these torpedos or your deliciously destructive chain reaction will be over before it begins.
