It’s Christmas week and the guys are giving gifts out left and right. The gift of laughter and sports takes that is! They start off by talking about the hilariously embarrassing Lock Paul gave after picking the Rams to cover the -17 point spread against the Jets this past weekend. As we all know the Jets won and we talk about how they blew getting the #1 pick and what it could mean. Then it’s back to the Eagles and Patriots QB situations. Two teams whose QB room is getting more and more complicated by the week. Wentz is unhappy, but Hurts has looked great for the Eagles, and Cam can’t throw out of a wet paper bag. Where do the teams go? Is Bill for once under prepared and under achieving? Plus our Week 16 Locks and Must Watches. Then we talk some NBA. The season is starting and the guys give their prediction of what two teams finish at the top of each Conference. Not only that, they predict the Christmas Day games and who they think will be Jolly at the end. Finally, they discuss the CFP. Did Notre Dame deserve the #4 spot? Is Dabo poking an OSU bear? We discuss our thoughts on it and how the bowl season is messed up in a lot of ways. The show finishes with Greg and Paul giving their final Must Watch Christmas movies! Happy Holidays!!! In this episode of Agents Influence podcast, host Jason Cass interviews Bill Martin, President and CEO at Plymouth Rock Property Assurance. Bill talks about how he got into the insurance industry and his journey to becoming the CEO. He also discusses the value of understanding the analytics and data in the industry. Episode Highlights: Jason introduces Bill Martin. (3:06) Is Bill an iPhone or an Android user? (3:41) What was the last app that Bill downloaded? (4:56) Does Bill love to win or hate to lose? (6:10) Has Bill listened to Jason’s podcast before? (6:44) What does Bill attribute to his success, skill or luck? (7:02) Bill shares the first big break of his career in insurance. (7:55) Bill shares his background and journey to success. (8:40) Bill mentions that he did a series of three startups. (11:56) Bill says that the main idea is that you should be able to know before you offer somebody insurance is what you need to charge them. (14:43) Bill mentions that there is no great insurance story that isn't a distribution story. If you have great agents, you're going to win. (18:00) Bill explains that he gets to concentrate on making his product more attractive to both the distributors and the customers, and that's where the value is going to be built. (18:46) Would it be safe to say that a lot of CEOs don't think like Bill? (19:25) Bill mentions that there is some brilliance to the delivery of really good ideas that aren’t apparent at first. (21:38) Jason shares that the distribution system has given him a life, he never thought that would be possible. (22:15) Jason thinks that a lot of people lose sight of understanding that it's a passion, a willingness, and a desire to change an industry and have it look perhaps, different. (22:34) Bill shares that there are some great things about the regulation that we aren't embracing enough, but there are also some things that are just getting old. (24:24) What is the game plan that Bill cast as a vision for Plymouth, and how does he see the future? (26:14) Bill mentions that he started the small piece of a company called Neptune Flood Insurance. (26:50) Why has the industry not tried to take over the National Flood Insurance Program? (28:46) Bill explains the two reasons why NFIP started. (28:55) Bill shares that it's not wrong to tell everybody what the secret formula is. Because they'll come in and ease the pressure on you to offer rates that are not affordable if you aggregate. (30:57) In Jason’s opinion, data is the single biggest differentiator in the insurance industry. (32:06) Bill talks about an announcement from someone in Insurtech. (32:59) Bill shares that it’s weird how they’ve used data to improve the insurance company's lot, and they haven't used it to improve the insure policyholders lot. They tend to use it to make their loss ratios better and out segment everybody, but they don't use it to make the customers’ lives easier. (34:13) Bill says that the interest rates can influence companies, but the companies that are influenced are the ones that probably aren't going to survive in the long term. It's the ones that are disciplined through the interest rate environment that will survive. (40:02) Bill mentions that he’s reading the book entitled The British Are Coming: The War for America, Lexington to Princeton, 1775-1777 (The Revolution Trilogy) by Rick Atkinson. (42:31) Bill thinks that CEOs often don't have time to be nuanced. (42:51) Bill thinks that the big factor for a lot of agencies is that they need to be really good technicians and they need to be really good with people. (44:05) Key Quotes: “I'm not trying something that's enough on the edge to really make a difference. So if I don't push the edge and fail, then I guarantee you that I'm not going to have something that succeeds.” - Bill Martin “Anybody can lose money, you just lower rates. Anybody can make money and not grow, you just raise rates... But nobody seems to be able to grow and make money at the same time.” - Bill Martin “I'm going to do the thing that does make sense and we're going to compete with it, and there'll be millions of things that don't work because there are reasons we do things the way we do, and those reasons don't go away just because you tried something new.” -Bill Martin Resources Mentioned: Agency Intelligence We Got Your Podcast Reach out to Jason Cass LinkedIn- Bill Martin Plymouth Rock Property Assurance   Advertisers: Lightspeed Voice ePay Policy

Episode 3 of 11.22.63 - Other Voices, Other Rooms Sometimes the past doesn't want to be changed! School teacher Jake Epping, (James Franco), travels back in time to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy, thinking that the world would have been a better place had Kennedy not been killed.  However, he finds that easier said than done due to a myriad of obstacles and misfortunes, most notably, the past itself. Jake quickly learns that the past pushes back against being changed. Episode 3 of 11.22.63 - Other Voices, Other Rooms Jake and Bill become "partners" and take a road trip to Dallas.  Jake begins working as a a high school English teacher, while he and Billy begin their surveillance of Lee Harvey Oswald. We're back after an expected hiatus due to travel and health issues (non the least of which were James' cuticles). Jake tells the worst car trip passenger ever about the plot to kill Kennedy and that’s he’s here from the future... The book is pretty messed up, how he reads anything out of it is a mystery. A tighty whitey fight ensues much to Laura's chagrin. DO THEY NOT HAVE MINIBARS IN THE 1960s!? The history of the hotel minibar. The Lincoln/Kennedy Coincidences and Connections  Horrible scars on the kids back, possibly abused. $100 for a ride and not getting shot, woot! (How many pieces of pie could you buy with that?) Daly Plaza seems like deserted ghost town. Is this the least busiest street in America? Why is no one around? Apparently people only come out to watch a President get shot. The great "reset" debate continues Bill and Jake, PARTNERS! Welcome to Jodie, Texas. Catcher in the Rye Mark David Chapman used this book as his "official statement to police" after assassinating John Lennon Bill is super creepy hanging round the school.  Jack Ruby... Laura is using this series to learn about history The Lincoln/Kennedy Coincidences and Connections  And the list Miranda Mentioned on Wikipedia Bill is spilling the beans already after like... a day. Worst. Partner. Ever. First Day of School Mr. Coleslaw? Probably not a good idea to offer a black woman a cup of coffee in pre-civil rights times Texas. Are there rules for going in the closet? The years pass.... In the weird time warp hallway. Hellooooo distraction! The past had something up its sleeve! Jodie High School just happens to have a teacher position open? Not trying to hard past, are you? Fort Worth, Texas Passage of time portrayed well with the car showing an increase in wealth Poe's Story: Cask of Amontillado Oswald finally gets back from Russia. He is very proud about defecting for someone who comes back to Texas. Have they used that string designation for places before? Super racist landlord, this a terrible neighborhood. Super homophobic neighbors. They don’t have minibars, but they have pretty good spy equipment? Is Bill the bad "leaper"? Bill and Jake bug the apartment Bill is still being creepy Spiders in the attic (or was it the crawlspace?) George de Mohrenschildt??? Convenient in for General Walker... Again, seems like this is way too easy so far. The HomoPhobes "ruin" the taps.  Really? Just rewind in on the spools! The past is not trying too hard! Mr. Amberson helps Ms. Mimi. Go Jake! The school dance. Laura and Miranda are apparently predisposed to distrust her due to their shared gender Miss Representation movie General Walker Rally The connection between Oswald and Walker has us all befuddled Oswald really doesn’t like General Walker If Walker is against Kennedy, why would Oswald want to kill Walker and Kennedy? Final Thought: Did Oswald really have a speech impediment / accent? From REDDIT: I did find a bit of broadcast video of Oswald speaking with press that was pub...

This episode of the podcast is a direct continuation of the intriguing dialogue I had with the American pastor Bill in episode no.92. This part is basically Bill’s interaction with the podcast fans whom I asked prior to the interview to come up with some interesting questions. What temperature is there in hell? What brought Bill to faith? In Bill’s opinion, toward whom is there the largest religious intolerance in the USA? What does Bill say to my obstinate animosity towards anyone trying to have me convert to their religion? Is Bill a technology maniac? In addition, what does the label on the coke we ordered say and what is the question Bill asks me at the end of our interview and how do I respond to it? (hint: I have been asked exactly the same questions by Luke) I show my true colours in this episode by the extensive usage of “hm hm hm language phenomenon”, just as I was warning you at the beginning of the previous episode with Bill. This bad habit probably has its roots in my tiredness after a demanding work day. If you thought it was not so bad in the previous episode, well, in this one, I can assure you that you will get more than enough of it.
