Oops they did it again, and it's getting a little ridiculous. We unpack the Super Rugby Final, have a wee chat with our man Hamish from Kiwilads and hear about his run-in with SANZAR and a bunch of BS too. Grab a beer, have a listen and expect some weird tangents.
Former Wallabies hooker Phil Kearns thinks SANZAR is no longer relevant given South Africa and Argentina are no longer involved in Super Rugby.

In 2010, SANZAR confirms the new broadcast rights across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa from 2011 to 2015. The deal was valued at USD$437m. In 2013, Machester United record the clubs 20th English Leage title winning 3-0 over Aston Villa. Here's what happened back in the day.
The Wallabies and Springboks continue to have a decorated rivalry with the men in gold taking the latest chocolates over the reigning World Champions. But when it comes to peaks and troughs, both Australia and South Africa have many parallels in terms of controversy, challenges and dire patches in performance. To unpack this we speak with Thala Msutu from the South African rugby website and soon-to-be podcast “Rugby Bits” and cover the recent games between the Wallabies and Boks in Queensland, the current status of rugby union in South Africa and the social and political complexities the sport faces, the “ex-girlfriend” that is Super Rugby and what comparisons can be drawn between the two countries when it comes to dealing with the “player drain” and the pressures placed on the national team to succeed. It's a SANZAR discussion minus the NZ. Dig in!
The All Blacks will head to Australia later in the week for the third Bledisloe match and the Rugby Championship. They were roundly criticised by Rugby Australia and SANZAR for not getting on their scheduled flight last weekend for the match. The team said they wanted more certainty about their travel plans before they left. They also now have certainty over the coach - Ian Foster has been reappointed until the 2023 Rugby World Cup. NZR chief executive Mark Robinson says it was unanimous decision.
Jason Pine chats to South African Rugby writer Mark Keohane about the All Blacks decision to pull out of the 3rd Bledisloe Cup game between the All Blacks and the Wallabies. Mark believes New Zealand should forfeit the Rugby Championship if they are putting their End of Year Tour ahead of needs to Sanzar's Rugby Championship.
The Rebels boss joined Garry and Tim ahead of their first Super Rugby home game in over 12 months.
It is the latest and greatest from those idiots in America that like to talk about rugby. In this episode, we laugh, we cry, we get angry and everything else in between, probably why it's so long. We go over the two biggest talking points (from our perspective) of the weekend, first we cover how much SANZAR and their TV partners here in the U.S. have dropped the ball and our frustration with where that leaves us. We also cover ALL the red cards that we saw in the Premiership this past weekend (there were 5 of them and a host of yellow cards. Of course we wrap all the action from the league this past weekend, put in a hell of a shift to do all the start or sit and so much more. Sit back and ride the wave with us on this episode. The New Zealand Rugby chief executive Mark Robinson says the Sanzar parties agreed to find alternative competitions for 2020 and 2021, and NZR was not surprised by South Africa's decision to pull their teams from Super Rugby.
New Zealand Rugby insists it's committed to playing the Rugby Championship in full, despite serious concerns over the tournament end-date.SANZAAR released the six game schedule this morning, with the All Blacks playing Australia on December 12th.That would see the All Blacks still in managed quarantine for Christmas.NZR chief executive Mark Robinson told Simon and Phil they were working towards the prior weekend, but commercial considerations seem to be at play.He says they plan to keep talking with SANZAAR and Rugby Australia around that date.LISTEN ABOVE
New Zealand Rugby has been left blindsided and angry after SANZAR released the draw for the end of year Rugby Championship forcing the All Blacks to spend Christmas in quarantine. The draw sees the All Blacks playing their final test against Australia on the 12th of December in Sydney, ending a week later than the team had initially anticipated. The All Blacks had been hoping the tournament which also includes South Africa and Argentina could have included a mid week test and played over five weeks instead of six. Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield told Checkpoint he's been asked to look at a bubble arrangement that could trim isolation time but at the moment rules for everyone are 14 days. Author and former Wallaby, Peter Fitzsimons thinks there's still time for things to change. He believes New Zealand Rugby will get its way and have the All Blacks home with their families for Christmas Day. Speaking to Checkpoint reporter, Nick Trubridge a short time ago, Fitzsimons says the All Blacks are used to holding sway. Sydney Morning Herald Rugby writer Tom Decent joins Lisa Owen with his analysis.

The boss of New Zealand Rugby concedes it's an odd decision to award the 2023 Rugby World Cup to France.Steve Tew and the other New Zealand Council members voted for SANZAR partners South Africa, who had been given the tick of approval by World Rugby's independent evaluation committee. But the 39 Council members voted overwhelmingly in favour of France who won the final vote 24-15 over South Africa after Ireland had been eliminated in the first round.Tew said it does look odd and people can speculate around that as much as they want.He says World Rugby now has an opportunity to review the process."We'll take that time to see what we can do better. I'm not sure I would be an advocate for a report being produced with a recommendation and then trying to keep it secret when it's gone through 36 people."However, Tew doesn't beleive the decision smaller makets will no longer be able to host sport's showpiece as next time round they might have different criteria for hosting the World Cup.He believes if France is commercially successful it sets the banks balance up for World Rugby and they might set different criteria and might want to take the game to a developing market.LISTEN ABOVE AS STEVE TEW SPEAKS WITH RADIO SPORT BREAKFAST

L'épisode 13 du podcast est un peu plus décousu mais focalisé sur un bilan d'Irlande France, où l'on a pas mal digressé. This week Reg, Matt and Hugh are joined by former Wallaby and now Western Sydney Rams coach Jeremy Paul as they wrap up this week's burning questions: 1. What are the biggest challenges for the NRC moving forward? 2. The Rams have only just one their first game, but they have really competed well all weekend, can rugby thrive in western Sydney? 3. There were a lot of high scoring games on the weekend, as seems to be the norm in the NRC, is there actually any defence in the NRC? 4. The Super Rugby draw for 2017 has been released and there’s talk for further expansions in the future - so has SANZAR lost the plot? 5. The Wallabies have never won in Pretoria, which performance will be key for a win there this weekend?
This episode we look back at all the action from Round 1 of the Super Rugby Championship. Brumbies off to a flyer, the Tah's too strong for the Red's, the Rebels defeat the Force and the standout games from the other conferences.
The 6 Nations is about to be decided and there's a remote chance Ireland could steal it but France is the hot favourite to not only win but claim another Grand Slam. Ireland need to beat Scotland, a tough opponent, by a large margin and hope England can do the same to France (well not as well). But there's controversy brewing with the last minute implementation of the new law interpretations that have already been championed and adopted by SANZAR. Les Kiss reveals on this week's show that the Irish camp were told on - Thursday - just two days before their clash with Wales that the game would be played under the new strict interpretations at the breakdown already in use in the Super 14. Why this has happened as the tournament reaches its climax is unknown but there are plenty who are not happy about it. We catch up with Munster Assistant Coach Laurie Fisher as they prepare to get their stars back in action. It's a great chat with a pretty straight shooting coach who is very much at home after leaving the Brumbies a couple of seasons ago. Laurie assesses Ireland's chances for World Cup glory and he also gives us his views on the new law interpretations. IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS - POSITIONAL CHANGE
This is the full interview with Sydney based international referee Stuart Dickinson. Neutral referees have made way for merit based referees in the Super 14. It's all about getting the best referees officiating the best games. SANZAR's move is a bold one but controversial in some circles of the game.
