In Matthew 15, Pastor Karl walks through two encounters that reveal how Jesus responds to very different kinds of people. The first is a confrontation with the Pharisees — religious leaders who had mastered looking clean on the outside while leaving their hearts completely untouched. Jesus exposes their hypocrisy and makes clear that the real issue is never what comes in from the outside, but what flows out from within. The second is a striking contrast: a Canaanite woman from Tyre and Sidon who comes to Jesus with nothing to offer — no credentials, no leverage, no religious standing. She simply cries out for mercy. When Jesus seems silent and even dismissive, she doesn't leave offended. She presses in, clings to grace, and receives what the Pharisees never could: a direct word of commendation from Jesus himself — "Great is your faith."God honors a transformed heart and exposes religious hypocrisy. And he blesses according to his grace — not our worthiness. This message is an invitation to stop trying to leverage God and start crying out for his mercy.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Conrad and Gyi dive into the unsung, everyday heroes of your practice, your paralegals, and how the right team can make or break your client experience. We highlight a few key clips from a full-length interview Conrad had with Ryan McKeen and Marisa Rua from Para Era about building better paralegal training programs, hiring talent from unexpected industries like food service, and creating systems that let paralegals thrive. Your paralegals are often the first face of your firm, the first voice clients hear, and the first impression that shapes your brand. Ryan and Marissa discuss how to turn that reality into a competitive advantage.

Madrid, March 2017. A Swiss banker, an oil executive from PDVSA—Venezuela's state oil company—and three financial advisors meet to discuss business. They seek to move millions in corrupt funds without anyone noticing. But one of them is wearing a hidden microphone and records this conversation, in which a money laundering operation is structured, part of a scheme that diverted at least $600 million in Venezuelan public funds. From OCCRP and the Colombian production company La No Ficción, this investigative series follows exiled Venezuelan journalist Laura Weffer as she tracks down Carmelo Urdaneta, a former high-level official in Venezuela's oil ministry who sits at the heart of a billion-dollar money laundering conspiracy.Over five episodes, the podcast unspools how millions of dollars were embezzled from the state oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), between 2014 and 2018 by a circle of insiders who spent the cash on real estate, yachts, and other luxury assets.Behind these financial tricks lies immense personal suffering; The series also traces the human cost of this corruption, including Laura's own journey into exile and the voices of other Venezuelans who were battling a severe economic crisis at the same time that their oil money was being “cleaned” by professionals abroad. This podcast was originally produced in Spanish. There is, indeed, something profoundly wrong with the human heart. But praise be to God, He has provided the cure! Jesus washes dirty hearts!

The powerful story of the woman caught in adultery thrown at the feet of Jesus is filled with the revelation on the true heart of God. The reality is that He is not afraid to put His hands right smack in the middle of our dirt. We're the ones we too often believe He doesn't want anything to do with our dirt. He feels quite different. Chew on this delicious story of grace and let it sit in your spiritual belly to nourish you.

Excerpt of the 18 Nov 1948 Kraft Music Hall starring Al Jolson. Groucho Marx was the guest star on this program, but this segment is from the middle section of the broadcast, and features Al Jolson and Oscar Levant, in comedy and song. After a cheesy introduction by Levant, Al Jolson sang "Dirty Hands, Dirty Face," "I Wonder What's Become of Sally," and "Christmas Dreaming," a holiday song rarely heard today. There is much more in the complete show, including a comedy routine with Groucho. The complete broadcast, along with other Jolson radio shows, is available at the Official Al Jolson Website at www.jolson.org.

What happens when the very people sworn to protect become the ones allegedly orchestrating the crime? Sandra Birchmore, a vulnerable 23-year-old looking for guidance after the tragic loss of her parents and grandmother, thought she found safety in the arms of law enforcement. Instead, she allegedly became a victim of grooming, sexual assault, and murder at the hands of those who were meant to protect her, including officer Matthew Farwell and his brother William, both allegedly involved in her exploitation. But why hasn't William been charged? Is he cooperating, or are there details we still don't know? And just when you think things couldn't get weirder, there's Michael Proctor—the officer who, bizarrely, was first on the scene in not only Birchmore's case but also in the Ana Walsh case. Is this a chilling coincidence, or just bad luck for an officer tied to too many twisted stories? Anya Lautenbach is a mum, a columnist, and a money-saving gardener. Anya returns to the podcast promote her new book, The Money-Saving Gardener: Create Your Dream Garden at a Fraction of the Cost. As we all face a cost-of-living crisis, The Money-Saving Gardener is packed with tips and tricks to help gardeners keep costs down without compromising on style or impact. With creative advice on everything cost saving, from how to consciously buy and waste less, repurpose what you have and find, make the most of so-called garden "waste", to how to boost your plant collection with easy-to-follow seed-saving and propagation tips throughout the seasons. The Money-Saving Gardener encourages patience when gardening to avoid waste, and urges those with a new garden to take time to get to know their plot so they don't rip out any hidden horticultural treasures. Anya, reveals her favourite hardworking plants and shrubs to grow, that are not only beautiful but give the best long-term value for money, while also supporting wildlife and helping the planet. Her lifetime of budget gardening began in Poland where she grew up surrounded by resourceful family and friends who were passionate about nature and, through necessity, never wasted anything. She was taught self-sufficiency by her mother and shown how to collect seed and propagate plants at the age of 12. “Growing your own food and flowers wasn't a choice – it was a necessity to survive and stay sane,” Anya writes. Those practical skills enabled Anya to grow and create her own beautiful garden in the UK, all on a tiny budget. She started to share her tips and personal gardening journey with others in lively posts across her social media platforms, and a loyal following of gardeners of all ages and abilities quickly blossomed. Advocating the mental health benefits of gardening, Anya believes getting your bare hands into soil is something everyone should experience. Taking cuttings and the positivity she gains from seeing their first roots grow, has given her strength throughout her life, particularly in times of family grief and her own ADHD ‘superpower' diagnosis. She says: “A passion for propagation has helped me enormously on my journey, and I have never stopped propagating since I left home over two decades ago...I know by sharing my knowledge I can make gardening and propagating more accessible, helping people to create the garden of their dreams at a fraction of the cost of going out and buying what they need.” Order The Money-Saving Gardener HERE! Anya grew up in Poland surrounded by people who were passionate about nature and simple pleasures which is now her chosen way of life. She loves to prioritize mental health discussions and bring the future of our planet to the forefront of conversations on and off social media. Anya is also very passionate about raising awareness about neurodivergence and in particular ADHD, dyslexia, and autism; she's been diagnosed with ADHD and traits of autism in adulthood and one of her sons is dyslexic. How did a pair of over-priced soccer cleats become the catalyst for our guest's "dirty hands turned cutting-edge tech" trajectory? (We love stories like this.) This week, we sat down with the CEO and co-founder of GreenPal, Bryan Clayton. From starting a simple lawnmowing business in high school to building a successful tech company that connects homeowners with local care professionals, his career has had its share of highs and lows.
