The Dallas Stars were shutout by the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 and one of the bigger storylines from the game was Nils Lundkvist. Lundkvist played a team least 8:43 seconds and only had a couple of shifts in the 2nd period. The Stars were essentially playing five defensemen, and when Pete DeBoer was asked about it, he gave an answer that may leave the impression Lundkvist is not a part of their playoff plans.

The Dallas Stars made a splash a week before the trade deadline by getting Calgary Flames defensemen Chris Tanev. Tanev was a sought after player for many teams looking for a physical, gritty player that gets the job done in his own zone. Not only did the Stars get Tanev, but General Manager Jim Nill was able to get 75% of his salary retained which also included the New Jersey Devils. Joey breaks down the trade details, his opinion on the trade and how the Stars are heading in the right direction after a sub par last two weeks. We must come back to reality for a bit because the Stars top line of Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski are having a rough month. They've combined for just 17 points in 12 games and for the most part have not generated much offense. For a line that has dominated the past two seasons, we are not seeing enough productivity Dallas needs moving forward. With Stankoven being a great fit on the 3rd line, when Seguin gets back, if the top trio gets going again the Stars offense will be dangerous. Finally, we preview the Winnipeg Jets who have won four straight games and our 7-3 in their last 10. Dallas won the first two meetings back in November, so how do the Stars respond after a brutal loss in Colorado. Will Chris Tanev be in the lineup? A battle for 1st place in the Central Division is on the line. Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19 Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

From 'Spits & Suds' (subscribe here): Gavin Spittle makes note that this kind of loss won't make Jim Nill feel pressured to make a trade as he still has plenty of time. Logan Stankoven continues to be a difference for this team and they have more young guys that could be getting called up as they continue to dominate the AHL. Gavin and David Castillo discuss the young talent and that the Stars are better off keeping them than trading them.
