Miss BEHIND THE LENS live? Catch up now as it's an episode celebrating the weird and the wonderful on #BTLRadioShow as we take a look at SUMMONING THE SPIRIT with writer/director JON GARCIA and PIGLADY with writer/director/actor ADAM RAY FAIR. First up take a listen to my exclusive interview with writer/director JON GARCIA talking about SUMMONING THE SPIRIT; a fresh and refreshing tale of Big Foot that melds horror, the Big Foot mythology, New Age metaphysical aspects, a dash of the Age of Aquarius, with a touch of the supernatural. The film is beautifully shot and gives rise to some standout performances. (AND YES…. there is still plenty of blood!) I loved speaking with Jon as we dove into the making of SUMMONING THE SPIRIT, including his own experiences hunting Big Foot! Then writer/director/actor ADAM RAY FAIR is live talking about his feature directorial debut with PIGLADY. And you know what they say about truth being stranger than fiction? Well, that's exactly what inspired this film as PIGLADY is loosely based on an Oregonian woman who killed people and fed people parts to her pigs. Plenty of blood and body parts, a chilling tale, beautiful location and night lensing, and plenty of pigs! And what an insightful conversation with first-time filmmaker Adam who tells us how he learned of the stories of "the Pig Lady murders" in Oregon (thanks to his friend for sharing those with him!), why he had to make this film, finding the location, tales from the neighbors of the Pig Lady, pig wrangling, collaborating with a small cast and crew, filmmaking lessons learned, and more. Uh, and part of that "more" is the possibility of a "Son of Piglady" sequel. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com
Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes Jon Garcia, Co-Writer, Director (SUMMONING THE SPIRIT | Movie: Horror) to the Show! (Click to go there) ● IG: @summoningthespirit ● IMDB: www.imdb.com/title/tt26958570 ● WEB: jongarciafilms.net Dark Star Pictures will release supernatural sasquatch horror SUMMONING THE SPIRIT on digital and DVD this August. The film, written by Jon Garcia and Zach Carter and directed by Garcia, premiered to rave reviews at the Miami Film Festival with outlets calling the film “captivating” (Film Factual), saying it “revels in its atmosphere and it is thick with paranoia" (Reel Reviews); further, Blair Witch Project producer Greg Hale says of the film, "STS is a great addition to the sub-sub-genre of Bigfoot horror. The film turns convention on its head with a fresh take on Sasquatch while still delivering on the fun and the scares." SUMMONING THE SPIRIT follows Carla (Krystal Millie Valdes) and Dean (Ernesto Reyes) as they decide to escape the hustle of the big city, purchasing a home in the remote forest. They have big plans for their new quiet life, only to find something much more sinister. The couple quickly realize that they are on the land of a cult, and the leader claims a telepathic connection to a legendary flesh-eating beast deep in the woods surrounding them. Carla and Dean are forced to uncover the terrifying truth of the cult's prophecy. ● Media Inquiries: October Coast PR www.octobercoastpr.com

Super excited to announce next guest, Jon Garcia, to The Story!Harrisburg, PA's Jon Garcia (of Jon Garcia and The Hopeless Romantics) has been honing his infectious brand of pop rock since 2013.Fans of Reliant K and Switchfoot will take note of the anthemic quality and beautiful melodies present in each of these tracks.Growing up in Los Angeles, CA, his family relocated east to the shores of Havre de Grace, Maryland - at the mouth of the Susquehanna River and the head of Chesapeake Bay. While in Havre de Grace, he spent a considerable amount of time in and around Baltimore, MD's music scene, playing shows at Ottobar, Sidebar, The Reacher Theatre, World Cafe (Wilmigton, DE), Angels Rock Bar, Fish Head Cantina, UMBC - Quadimania, Towesons - Raven Inn and many other venues in the Tri-State region & where He later ventured into the central PA Music Community. While his backing band The Hopeless Romantics has undergone a few lineup changes over the years, one key element of the music is undeniable: Garcia's purpose and drive to find the tastiest pop hooks he can stake a claim to and record them to the sheer delight of his audiences. He has performed at the Millennium Music Conference (also in Harrisburg) and Singer-Songwriter Cape May in New Jersey, Dewey Beach Music Conference in Ocean City Maryland. So in short, if you're in the mood for some sweet pop rock/indie jams, be sure to check out Jon Garcia & The Hopeless Romantics. Jon Garcia is an illustrator, graphic designer, and filmmaker from Austin, TX. His illustration work varies from traditional ink and marker drawings to digital art with his primary focus being old-school NES-style pixel art. Jon attended the University of Texas Permian Basin where he “did the thing you're supposed to do after high school and luckily didn't go into debt” getting degrees in communications and psychology. His career in production and design began as the topical producer and eventual creative director for NBC-affiliate KWES-TV in Midland, TX. Highlights of his career at KWES include winning a Texas Associated Press Award for best photojournalist, helping the station transition to high-definition, shooting Friday night football around West Texas, and having a knife pulled on him right before a live shot. After KWES, Jon moved to Albuquerque, NM where he worked for the One Creative Ad Agency. Working with creative powerhouses Wendy Spalsbury and T. Payton, Jon learned high-end design and creative strategy. It was during the day to day humdrum of working for demanding clients combined with a puppy that liked waking up at 5:30am that he picked up the pencil he put down when he was 15 (thanks to a very uninspiring baseball coach who taught high school art) and got back into illustration. Beginning with fan art, his work eventually transitioned to creating the pixel art he loved as a gaming kid.A big fan of collaborating with other creatives, Jon's design work and illustration work have been used by businesses, podcasts, bands, creators, and also featured in the independent movies “Monday” and “Millennium Bugs.” Currently, he is the lead learning and development designer for Austin-based taco chain, Torchy's Tacos. His nights are spent enjoying whiskey and video games with his wife Jen and pups, Arya and Keeley, and working on a 2D point-and-click game inspired by the late 90's.THE TRUTH IN THIS ART BEYONDThe Truth in this Art Beyond is a spin-off of The Truth In This Art. Very special guest Todd Robert Anderson returns to the show to talk to Ashley about a multitude of topics, but mostly he just pressures her to use her day off (after two double shifts in a row) to go see that new Viking movie even though all the beheadings will probably make her puke.
Nazi-hating host of the Tonncast, Josh Wingate, sits down with very special guest Todd Robert Anderson to talk about being unemployed, America's nazi problem, and McConaughsending to people who vote for nazis. (Music by always respectful Adam Blau and logo design by anti-nazi renegade Jon Garcia.)
All time favorite very special guest Todd Robert Anderson is back on Shannon Hillary's The Tonncast! They touch on all the important issues: watching a large portion of your family getting COVID-19, going stir crazy, and Ice T's father-in-law. It's a crazy time, and crazy times require crazy podcasts! (Music by crazy Adam Blau and logo design by crazy Jon Garcia. They're so crazy.)
We chat to filmmaker Jon Garcia about his brand new film Love In Dangerous Times.

Writer and Director Jon Garcia (The Falls Trilogy, Sex Weather, Tandem Hearts) along with stars Ian Stout (Crazy Night, Actual Reality) and Tiffany Groben (Y2K 2000, The Drunk Series) discuss their film Love in Dangerous Times a dark comedy about trying to make a connection through the state-of-affairs in the midst of the 2020 pandemic in Portland, OR. Love in Dangerous Times was written and shot during the pandemic and deals with familial struggles, the desire to create, loneliness and the desire for love as the world continues to fall apart. It is a beautiful film that was shot in a linear manner by Garcia, something that is quite rare to see these days in movie making, which allowed to have the feel and flow of a play in some instances. The use of natural lighting in most scenes is really what gives the visual storying telling an added boost in something that could easily have been played for tongue-in-cheek purposes rather than an earnest movie with humorous elements during a period in history where the world feels as if it was going to end. I spoke with Garcia, Stout and Groben about the film and how art imitates life, while life reflects on art. Official Synopsis: Love in Dangerous Times is the newest film from acclaimed indie director Jon Garcia (The Falls Trilogy). As a virus spreads quickly throughout the globe, Jason remains ambivalent about its danger. Unable to travel and with his family on the other side of the country, he decides to spend the pandemic working on a play that resembles his life and current circumstances. As writers-block and loneliness ensue, he begins to turn to online dating to find a buddy for the apocalypse where he meets Sorrel. With the infection rate worsening and feat looming, the two begin to lean on one another for support and while they try to make sense of the times they live in. Ian Stout and Tiffany Groben star. Love in Dangerous Times will be available November 3 on all major VOD platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, and Vudu from Dark Star Pictures. Last week, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled 5–4 against President Trump's attempt to repeal former President Obama's executive order on Immigration, known as DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). In this episode, John Anthony Dunne and Rev. Daniel Parham are joined by Jon Garcia, a PhD student in Religion at USC. Over the course of our conversation we talk about the implications of this ruling, President Trump's possible determination to try to repeal DACA once more, the relationship between immigration policy and growing nationalism in America, the nature of the conservative argument in favor of voting for Trump in 2016 on the grounds of gaining conservative justices given the two rulings from last week that went against certain conservative positions (i.e. regarding LGBT rights and immigration), and how certain cultural and societal trends have particularly led white evangelicals to be disinclined towards seeing immigration as a subject worth Christian reflection and action.
Predators beat reporter for The Tennessean Paul Skrbina and digital producer Jon Garcia (filling in for Anna Gallegos) discuss the recent play of the Nashville Predators, EBUGs, and the remaining schedule for the team.
This week, Kristin starts us off with a case that’s as awful as it is important. Emmett Till was just fourteen years old in 1955, when he traveled from his home in Chicago to visit relatives in rural Mississippi. Before he left, his mother warned Emmett that Chicago and Mississippi were two different worlds. The culture was different -- the racism more intense. He’d have to be careful. But no warning could prepare Emmett for what lay ahead of him in Mississippi. Then Brandi tells us the infuriating, but ultimately positive story of Cyntoia Brown. From the moment she was born, Cyntoia faced incredible obstacles. By the time she was a teenager, Cyntoia had been sex trafficked by an older man. When she was 16, a 43-year-old real estate broker named Johnny Michael Allen approached her in a Sonic, looking for sex. The two went back to his house, where Cyntoia felt increasingly afraid. And now for a note about our process. For each episode, Kristin reads a bunch of articles, then spits them back out in her very limited vocabulary. Brandi copies and pastes from the best sources on the web. And sometimes Wikipedia. (No shade, Wikipedia. We love you.) We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the real experts who covered these cases. In this episode, Kristin pulled from: “Emmett Till Murder Trial” by Douglas O. Linder for famous-trials.com “Emmett Till” entry on wikipedia “What happened to the key figures in the Emmett Till case?” by Devery S. Anderson for the Mississippi Clarion Ledger In this episode, Brandi pulled from: “A timeline of the Cyntoia Brown case, conviction and successful bid for clemency” by Jon Garcia, The Tennessean “Who was Cyntoia Brown convicted of killing? Predators beat reporter Paul Skrbina is joined by Jon Garcia and new Tennessean sports reporter Tommy Deas on the latest episode of "Catfish Corner." The three discuss the rash of injuries, Ryan Johansen dressing up in a Grinch costume, what goes on behind the scenes and when to expect other ailing players to return.
Paul Skrbina and Jon Garcia discuss who should play with Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen while Viktor Arvidsson is on injured reserve. There's also a story about a Prius with a "ROCCO23" license plate, Pekka Rinne Appreciation Hour, and plenty of talk about pickle juice.
Predators beat writer Paul Skrbina and Jon Garcia discuss the Predators' 5-1 start, the power play, P.K. Subban's early season struggles and the big picture for the team as October turns into the rest of the season. Also, does anyone understand what the NHL schedule makers are thinking?
The dog days of the NHL offseason have officially begun. The draft is a distant memory and the rush of the first few days of free agency are over. The Predators haven't done much so far, and they weren't expected to. Most of their draft picks were given away to bring in players like Kyle Turris and Ryan Hartman, and the front office said they don't plan on making changes to the roster. In this episode of Catfish Corner, Adam Vingan and Jon Garcia chat about the few things Nashville has done this summer, how the landscape of the Central Division looks right now, and when Ryan Ellis could sign his contract extension.
The Winnipeg Jets eliminated the Nashville Predators from the playoffs with a dominant Game 7. What happened? Why were so many players — forwards and defensemen — invisible for the Preds? How much blame should Pekka Rinne get? Where does the team go from here? Adam goes on a rant. Adam Vingan, Joe Rexrode and Jon Garcia react to a disappointing end to a spectacular season.
The match up we've all been waiting for. Adam Vingan, Joe Rexrode and Jon Garcia provide a send off for a worthy adversary in the Colorado Avalanche, and look ahead to the next round against the Winnipeg Jets. The plucky Avs gave the Predators all they could handle at times, but just couldn't pull off the upset. Now the two best teams in the West will meet for what is sure to be a fun, physical and thrilling series.
Eeli Tolvanen officially signed a contract with the Predators, and will make his debut soon. Adam Vingan and Jon Garcia discuss the Finnish prospect finally inking a deal with Nashville, as well as why Connor McDavid — the NHL's leading point scorer — shouldn't win the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP.
With Lou becoming ill, Everett and Shannon bring in Jon Garcia, Evy Zee & Josh Kradz to discuss Rick Ross, Tisha Campbell divorce from Duane Martin, Walmart moving age to 21 to buy a firearm, the impact of Black Panther, Ryan Seacrest and stories behind their recent two day tour around Baltimore Maryland & Harrisburg, Pennsylvania !
Adam Vingan and Jon Garcia recap a fantastic gold medal hockey game between the US and Canada, and also touch on Eeli Tolvanen's play in Korea. Is he ready for the NHL? The two also chat at length about the NHL trade deadline, and if the Predators even have enough assets to get any big ticket players. Adam goes on a rant about Erik Karlsson.
Adam Vingan and Jon Garcia break down a thrilling and classic overtime comeback against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Adam is also completely over the "how is P.K. Subban in the locker room" questions in Montreal. The duo touch on teams bracing their teams for a rebuild, grumble about NHL players not attending the Olympics and gush about the women's USA hockey team.
Adam Vingan and Jon Garcia react to the Department of Player Safety dropping the hammer on Filip Forsberg, suspending him for three games. It was a bit severe. They also share their thoughts on an adrenaline fueled game against the New York Islanders, and disagree over the possibility of Rick Nash in Smashville gold.
Adam Vingan and Jon Garcia convene for an emergency podcast after the Predators announced that Mike Fisher would be coming out of retirement to join up with the team for the rest of the season. This only has upside for the team, and is Fisher's best (and last) chance to raise the Stanley Cup. What does this mean for the team? Is this their trade deadline acquisition? What will his contract look like?
Joe Rexrode and Jon Garcia recap the awesome game between the Predators and the Lightning, while throwing their hands in the air over the inconsistency of goaltender interference. Jon also goes on a rant about Brad Marchand and his latest adventure into dirty play.
