Welcome to the show! This is a podcast about all the "WTFs of the Great White Way". The Broadway Bombs. The theatrical catastrophes. That one time there was a musical featuring a group of dancing vampires who looked like Cher from the 1986 Oscars. It's like, "How did this get made?" but with theater and is a show made for EVERYONE, not just the folks who gotta sing, gotta dance. Each week host Julia Prescott is joined by a guest to talk a batshit Broadway flop from Soul Doctor: Journey of a Rock Star Rabbi, Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge and of course Spider-man: Turn off the Dark (which honestly necessitates a multi-part series). What went wrong? What went right? Why do we keep giving Andrew Loyd Weber second chances? Subscribe now to find out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The multi-talented Julia Prescott joins Molly to discuss Deadly Dance Competition (2022). From IMDB: An online dance contest turns deadly when an unknown assailant attacks and abducts a woman's teenage daughter. This week we're discussing ‘The Mad Women's Ball' with the “Mad Woman of Podcasting” a.k.a. “The Young Pope of Citywalk” – Julia Prescott. Plus, we give an update on our favorite unauthorized Celine Dion biopic that we've never seen – ‘Aline.' And, as always, we've got ‘Staff Picks.'In news, Chris Pratt to voice Mario, Billy Eichner's upcoming rom-com will feature an all LGBTQ+ principle cast, and Paul Verhoeven's ‘Benedetta' gets the Catholics all riled up.Take a short quiz on Smalls.com/MAXFILM to customize your Sampler and use code MAXFILM for a total of 30% off your first order.Staff Picks:Ify – Untold: Deal with the DevilAlonso – Stories of Resistance: Documentaries by Arthur DongDrea – Old HenryJulia – For The Record: TarantinoWith Ify Nwadiwe, Alonso Duralde, Drea Clark, and Julia Prescott

Saluton! Estas mi Tyson Saner. I am your host this week on Epi261 of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. Thank you for joining me! In case you missed last week's Episode 260, my co-host - and every-other-show-host - Marc Hershon gathered a quartet of clips from the soundcasts Better Off Better, BHHcast, Play With Pain, and Plumbing the Death Star. If you get the chance, I urge you to check that out sometime by looking for our show on Apple or Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and some other places including in the archive at our homesite at SuccotashShow.com. This episode I've got clips from 3 Girls 1 Kitchen, Strange Times, and Round Springfield. I've also got a fun ad for Passive Aggro Pants from our longtime fake sponsor Henderson's Pants to throw into the mix…because, after all, what would an episode of Succotash be without a segment devoted to a sponsor that we've never seen dime one from because THEY DON'T EXIST! CLIPS 3 Girls 1 Kitchen This is a show for the internet age. Filled to the brim with not only food, but a recipe for disaster. Join Lana, Olivia, and Alexa as they talk dating, sex, culture, and interview some of today's hottest celebs. Our clip comes from just last month: June 4th, 2021 and, in this episode, the girls get political and share their views on Caitlyn Jenner running for governor, Lana reveals some major life news, and they discuss how different attachment styles can affect relationships. Strange TimesI clipped "Gash", the June 29th episode of this weekly comedy & satirical podcast presented by Davian Dent, Kat Sorens & Dom Risk. Davian is out of hospital but quite clearly still under the influence of the industrial-grade pain killers he was prescribed… Round SpringfieldThis Simpsons-adjacent podcast is hosted by Allie Goertz and Julia Prescott, interviewing writers, directors, showrunners, and voice-actors from the Simpsons-verse on their various paths to Springfield, failed pilots, other projects, and beyond. Although these guys are still churning out episodes today, we flash back to March 30th, 2015 for "Flaming Moe's" (with J. Elvis Weinstein). Weinstein sets the stage for Allie and Julia on what the world was like when The Simpsons' Cheers-centric episode first aired. I hope you find something to enjoy or at least find interesting in trhis week's bounty. I'm leaving "funny" out of the conversation because of how subjective humor is. Comedy can be elusive but soundcasts are plentiful. I didn't really have more to that thought, it's just two things that are true next to each other. Not all soundcasts are meant to be funny after all. Here's a secret: Life isn't meant to be funny. Actually, I have no idea if that's true or not because it implies that life is supposed to have any sort of meaning and I am not the authority on that subject. Life can be very funny and not just strange but also the "ha-ha" variety. In the next episode, #262, Marc Hershon will have something for you to listen to…but since that's in my future I have no idea what that something will be except that it will likely be comedy and/or soundcast-related in some way…although it does not have to be. If you decide to listen again in 2 weeks I will be back with something else. Until then, be decent to each other, beware of asymptomatic spread, and if someone asks if you've heard anything interesting lately would you please pass the Succotash? — Tyson Saner
On today’s episode, we are talking about the phenomenal animated feature, The Mitchells vs. the Machines. And who better to chat about it than our guest, Simpsons writer and Round Springfield host Julia Prescott. Drea takes over hosting duties this week, which is why you might notice an uptick in “Charles Grodin-gushing” throughout the episode. We also answer a question from the ‘Hotline’ about the first movie we want to see in theaters when the pandemic is over. And, of course, we round things out with ‘Staff Picks.’In news, the marvelous Charles Grodin passes away and the Dear Evan Hansen trailer drops online.Staff Picks:Drea – The Heartbreak Kid and The Great Muppet CaperAlonso – Riders of JusticeJulia – Shiva Baby, Trolls World Tour, and Pink Skies AheadWith Drea Clark, Alonso Duralde, and Julia Prescott.

All over the world, the name 'Disney' means warmth and light and cuteness. Families save all year to visit Disney theme parks and eat 8 dollar churros while screaming at each other. People like... writer and comedian and extremely kind human being Julia Prescott! Julia knows a whole lot of Disney lore, and this week she's sharing the spine tingling stories about Disney ghosts and the bureaucratic policies that keep people from officially 'dying' in the parks.

What neither Kyle nor Julia anticipated was that it would be the hottest day of the summer. Bonjour mesdames et messieurs. Julia Prescott (Everything's Coming Up Simpson's, Townies) joins us as head into the heart of darkness: Disney Village, the weird mall outside of Disneyland Paris.
Today's episode of the podcast is a special episode. This is the audio from the NerdMelt Farewell interviews I filmed last month. I had so many incredible people join me for this. On this episode you will hear: Matt Mira, Sarah Silverman, April Richardson, Kyle Clark, Hannah Kyle Crichton, Beowulf Jones, Zac Mckeever, Danielle Kramer, Aaron Baker, Nolan Fabricius, Julia Prescott, Samee Junio, Caitlin Durante, Matt Burnside, Jenny Chalikian, Ed Salazar, Aristotle Acevedo, Katie Levine, and Dave Kloc. The Nerdist Showroom at Meltdown Comics was a place comics across Los Angeles called home. Fans came in from around the country to see shows at NerdMelt and shop at Meltdown Comics. On March 30th, 2018, the place we called home came to a close. So many incredible people had a part in making this place magical since it first opened as NerdMelt on April 2, 2011. We found out 9 days before closing that we were in our last week of shows. I spent 5 of those days reaching out to everybody I possibly could to sit down and share their memories with me for this video. I was amazed at how eager everybody was to be a part of this. A huge thanks to every comedian and member of the NerdMelt family that took the time to rush over to NerdMelt in the final days to film this with me. You can watch the fill video on the website www.onthemicpodcast.com or on YouTube. We miss you NerdMelt and Meltdown Comics. Thanks for the memories. Enjoy the episode.
This week, Allie Goertz and Julia Prescott discuss The Day the Violence Died with legendary Simpsons showrunner Josh Weinstein! Find out what gags were cut from the episode as Weinstein glances over the first draft of the script. He discusses the importance of meta-humor in "Itchy and Scratchy" themed episodes, and how they got the "Schoolhouse Rock!" parody just right. Plus, he gives us the scoop on his latest project --"Disenchantment" a new Netflix series he's been working on with Matt Groening and Bill Oakley.
Welcome to the Maximum Fun network Everything's Coming Up Simpsons! This is a Simpsons podcast you don't want to miss. Each week Allie Goertz and Julia Prescott discuss their favorite episode with a special guest. This week, Nelson Franklin swings by to discuss one of his favorite episodes! You know Nelson Franklin from his roles in New Girl and Black-ish. The episode The PTA Disbands is from Season 6 of The Simpsons series. Join us as they dive into the Laws of Thermodynamics, crappy school buses, and the scariest teacher of them all Marge Simpson.
