Gombos Brigitta és Turcsán Emese, a Kék Zóna Projekt Magyarország kulcsszereplői, akik egy éven átívelő, mintatelepüléseken futó programmal közösségeket építenek és a várható élettartam növelésén dolgoznak. A kék zónák világa olyan helyeket jelöl, ahol sokan élik meg a századik életévet kiteljesedett testi és lelki állapotban, a magyar kezdeményezés pedig ezt a szemléletet ülteti át helyi tettekre. A cél világos, településről településre vezető, kézzel fogható útmutató, amely a mindennapi szokások szintjén hoz tartós változást. A mostani mintatelepülések Nagykovácsi, Noszvaj és Nagyréde, a program közvetlenül a lakókkal dolgozik, a terepmunka az alap, a tűsarkút felváltja a gumicsizma és a túrabakancs. A résztvevők a helyi, szezonális alapanyagokra építő közös főzésektől a fermentálásig és kovászolásig sokféle konyhai tudást kapnak, a mozgás több formája jelenik meg szervezett túrákkal és jógával, a hatvan pluszos generáció nagyköveteként Gajdos Tamás segít. A magány elleni közösségi eszköztár része a pletykapad is, amely beszélgetésre hív, amikor valaki leül rá. A program egyéves ívet követ, bemeneti és kimeneti méréseket alkalmaz, a résztvevők vérnyomás, vércukor, koleszterin és szívkoherencia értékeiről visszajelzést kapnak, a mentális állapot és a szokások változását is követik. A kezdeményezés olyan közeget teremt, ahol a célkitűzések napi ritmusba rendezik az életet, a fiatalok kiszabadulnak a képernyők mögül, az idősek kilépnek a négy fal közül, az együttműködés pedig helyi magokra épül, hogy egy év múltán a közösség önállóan vigye tovább a stafétát.
