Do you knit or know someone that does? You can take a single of strand of yarn that is not very strong, and make something that is superstrong! The person who knits will take yarn, thread it through the hook, and start knitting. When the product is done, like a blanket, it can be used because the single strand of yarn has been knitted together, twisted together, and has become strong. Paul tells the church at Colosse he wants them to be encouraged and knit together by the love of Christ. We need to be involved in one another's lives so we can be knitted together. When the thing knitted together has Jesus woven into it, it becomes unbreakable!
We begin this episode by thinking about the work of people's hands. We wonder about the connections between knitting and history, trade, the industrial revolution, social connection, activism, and new interpretations.Along the way, we'll:visit Tudor England, when the wool trade was at its economic core and resulted in some pretty intense legislation for common citizens, check in on technology like framework knitting and the surprising etymology of the term Luddite, observe the long term effects on handicrafts by the Industrial Revolution, and uncover some excesses of the Victorians while we're at it,take knitting forward through wars, the Great Depression, changing technologies such as synthetic fabrics, and rapidly changing relationships between people and the clothes they wear, honor knitwear designers who brought the craft forward, marvel at the confluence of the Riot grrl, the growth of DIY culture, and the internet that allowed learning, inspiration, and community to flourish, connect the dots with examples of craftivism around the world, pay tribute to the good done by Brixton's Craft Forward organization, leave breadcrumbs for self study on topics like contemporary fashion, share resources for getting involved, and … you didn't think we'd do an episode on knitting and not mention Tom Daley, did you? This is a very visible episode. See our SHOW NOTES for photos, articles, and much more. Episode photo by Steve Forrest from Workers' Photos Archive.

It is so good to be able to meet altogether again! The last few years have been nothing less than unusual. The beauty of it all is that we are still closely knitted in the present, in His presences, and in the process we have left some of the traditions behind and embraced a more perfect worship experience. figure out what allows you to take, rather than focusing on being an enormous success focus on figuring out how you can connect with just even a few people. When I was little my mom used to talk to everybody, and now she's made a habit to knit socks and just give them out to random strangers. This likely does not affect most people, the odd person. It greatly affects. Figure out how you can create your own socks because you never know who it will be that will need the socks.

This week's episode is on a topic I receive lots of questions about- How do we even grow closer to God? I preach that closeness to God is the solution to the kind of self-love that we are looking for, so this episode was so needed! Keep in mind this is not a one-size fits all, Jesus meets us each at an individual level. These are tips that have worked for me, and I pray they will bless you too! However- stick around for the last bit of advice as I do truly believe it is the most important piece in growing your faith! Be sure to pass this episode along to someone else who you think needs to hear it. If you'd like to take the time to leave a rate and review, I would SO appreciate it! What is the one thing you refuse to knit? Is a ball winder and swift worth the investment? What are some tips for a newbie sock knitter?
In part two of making wire word knitted wall decor to put over my desk in my preschool classroom I share my experience finding the best kind of yarn to use with the Tulip i-cord Knitter Machine to cover the wire words and shapes that I made last week, the process of making the i-cord and putting it all together. I also learned that bending the wire before adding the knitted i-cord does not always work out well!
We are spring cleaning and creating a new look in my preschool classroom. I teach autistic preschoolers and my team and I have been talking about the infinity symbol for neurodiversity and bringing that into our classroom decor. I saw a reel on Instagram from Isla Sierra doing knitted wire art and I thought that I could make the infinity symbol, a couple of words, and a few shapes crafting the knitted wire wall decor. I used my Cricut for creating two templates for the infinity symbol and the heart shape. In part one of this crafting adventure I am learning to bend crafting wire into shapes and words.

I recently heard a podcast featuring Andy Stanley--have I mentioned him before? He is a pastor in Atlanta--and his wife Sandra, and they were discussing a most compelling question: How do we parent our children so that when they grow up and grow out, they want to spend time with their parents, and with one another, even when they don't have to? If this is our goal, our parenting north star, that should motivate all our parenting decisions along the way.

Two people are physically intimate, their souls are intertwined, just as their bodies are, and become one flesh... this is one example of a soul tie! However, this bond often develops into unhealthy relationships which often leads to addictive, narcissist, and co-dependency behavior. Ungodly soul ties are created through sexual sin and ungodly controlling behavior. Agenda of Satan is to use these soul ties, so it has a legal right to harass you. Break these knitted bonds through healing prayer!
