This is Episode 28 of the VulnerABLE Podcast!For most of her life she'd faced adversity at every turn, and it's taught her a lot. Now she's helping people reconnect with their passions and bring them into their work and life!At just 6 years old her home in Trinidad would burn down, and thinking back, the most embarrassing part of it was running from the house with no bottoms on. But the worst part of it all was that not only was her families home gone, but their entire life savings along with it, as they were kept in the house. Then her parent’s would decide to move her family to Canada, and start from scratch. This would be one of many times that adversity would present itself throughout her life. In school she’d face bullying, simply for being different, as kids couldn’t understand this new ‘white’ kid with her thick Trinidadian accent. What made it even harder was that her previous upbringing would teach her to respect others, so she didn’t have any idea how to defend herself. These events would lead to a sense of insecurity that would follow her well into her adult life, and getting into the working world. Whether it be in dating men that would treat her poorly, or not having the confidence to chase the career she truly wanted - it was always there showing up. Then when she finally made it to a place in her life and career that she thought she was supposed to be, life would begin to show her that something still wasn’t right. After facing some health issues and trying to cover it up in the name of work, it wasn’t long before her intuition told her there was something more to life. Now she’s the founder of The Passion Centre, helping people get reconnected to who they are at their core, honouring that, and teaching them how to bring it out into their work and the world in the form of Passion ventures.
