We've been huge fans of the Klasse Wrecks crew for years now. Their graphic style and the sounds they put out continuously demand attention time and time again! So we're very excited to welcome Mr. Ho, one of the brains behind the label and amazing producer, to take our guest mix series for a spin. "The main thing I was trying to do was to make it sound coherent. There's an electro feel throughout this mix, but not everything would be classified by purists as electro. Its still relatively early on in the year, so I've actually been revisiting some tracks that I have in my collection but haven't played in a while, which makes up for a lot the music in this mix. Releases - I've had two records out on Klasse Wrecks since the beginning of this year. One of them is WRECKS048 - Mr. Ho "000 Baby w/ Om Unit remix", and the other is a track called "Hardly Working" on an Acid flavoured release called FRISB03 (the release comes with an acid frisbee). In April there is a track on Japan's Cowboy Family new label, the track is called "Aw Shucks" At some point this year there will be the release of my remix for Masarima "Freek like U" on Clone records, a track on Innershade's Altered Circuits, another EP with Luca Lozano on Klasse Wrecks, and my second EP for Cabaret Records. This year I am excited to be making my debuts in a few festivals - Rainbow Disco Club in Japan and Korea, Polifonic in Italy, Miki Maki festival in France, and Dekmantel in the Netherlands. Running a record label is no simple feat, it requires dedication, investment and commitment. Many have tried and failed whilst others simply dream of the notion. Multiplex is a label which has been in operation for twenty five years, a remarkable achievement for what began as a passion project in Denmark all those years ago. Founded in 1995 the label went on a hiatus of sorts and was then reborn in 2017 following an absence, it has been responsible for the release of music by the likes of Orlando Voorn, Morgan Geist and John Tejada. More recently the label has released music by Cai Bojsen-Møller, Wilma, Ultra and Luca Lozano. An imprint reborn yet still very much clinging on to the underground sensibilities which launched and birthed the label in its own right. It is a true testament to the commitment and perseverance of Kong and Daniel Karrill.

Originating from Hong Kong Mr. Ho has amassed a serious reputation as a selector and label boss through his imprint Klasse Wrecks alongside Luca Lozano. The label has carved a niche for itself through it's visual identity associated with early rave culture and nostalgic days spent dancing. However, the releases themselves have been strong and singular in their sound. Dj Fett Burger, Cardopusher, Helena Hauff, Marco Bernardi, Dj Normal 4 and many others have all released records with the label which was only formed in 2015. Fast paced and assertive Klasse Wrecks is hot property. Mr. Ho is sought after as a disc jockey, his sets tastefully curated and diverse in style. We are delighted to have him contribute to our Ransom Note mix series...

In an age of odd dj names there is little as bizarre as that of Dj Normal 4. The mysterious producer has amassed a reputation as a bit of a breakbeat connoisseur in recent months having released music on Klasse Wrecks and Brothers From Different Mothers. More recently he has also featured collaboratively alongside Luca Lozano and Bufiman. His sound quite clearly draws upon influences found amongst the golden days of rave culture. Old school samples and broken percussion feature heavily amongst his sets and in much of his own music. His online presence would indicate that he might not take himself too seriously, which in a time when techno dj's seem to be becoming increasingly moody is much appreciated. We are delighted to be able to welcome Dj Normal 4 to our mix series for an edition which is anything but predictable.

In 2008 I started a series of radio shows with fellow Freak and host, Jonny Rock. The original format was based around vinyl. Digital started to creep in, then CD's, then YouTube rips, and so on. But the idea remained the same, that we were sharing our discoveries with an audience. Fast forwarding a couple of years and expanding on the original concept, I will once again be playing dance music that you may or may not have heard, but this time said music will be readily available, if pointed in the right direction of course. The idea is for you to use me as your selector slash shop assistant in a virtual record store. Not only will I be shouting about both old and new music, but I will also be following it up with a series of compilations to be released on my label, Classic throughout the year.
