Moving freely in the flux of unpredictable creativity and constant wide spreading interests, Elisa Bee has been mixing for over 15 years, beginning in her native Sardinia before moving to Milan. First picking up the decks back in 2007, it wasn't until 2012 that she decided to delve into the world of music production. Charmed by her work, UK-based DJ Haus signed her ‘Mind Game EP' to influential imprint Unknown To The Unknown. Since then, she has released music under Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains, Posthuman's Balkan Vinyl, Ben Sims' both Symbolism and Hardgroove imprints, Truncate's label and UTTU again – and she remixed artists like Ewan McVicar and WTCHCRFT. Her own productions have been much welcomed by international audiences and artists alike, gaining considerable airplay both on the dancefloor and on the radio (BBC Radio1, NTS, Rinse FM, Kiosk Radio). In 2023 Elisa debuted on Boiler Room and her RA Podcast for Resident Advisor attested her as one of Italy's finest selectors and producers: “[...] exploring and then refining a style of techno that has that rare, hard-to-put-your-finger-on quality: a soulful reverence, paying homage to the old days and the originators without just copying them”. Hard work can pay off. Just ask Elisa Bee. The Sardinian producer and DJ has been working diligently since 2007, exploring and then refining a style of techno that has that rare, hard-to-put-your-finger-on quality: a soulful reverence, paying homage to the old days and the originators without just copying them. She struck it (relatively) big with an EP on Unknown To The Unknown in 2019 and has since become a fixture on labels like Hardgroove, Symbiosis and Balkan Vinyl, imprints that specialize in a kind of meat-and-potatoes techno that underlines both the fundamentals and subtle innovation. She's also a resident at Milan's Tempio Del Futuro Perduto, which she talks about at length in the interview below. Now, in 2023, Elisa Bee is part of a vanguard of younger techno producers who carry the flag for the '90s without resorting to pastiche or the bigger-is-better aesthetic of much of the rest of the contemporary European techno landscape. Now here's a fun treat designed to spice up your Friday, Ludwig A.F. Röhrscheid is a producer and DJ with a wonderful care free approach to electronic music. He makes incredibly tasteful tracks, often with a distinctive personality which can be hard to find in an overly saturated market. There are nods to prominent 90's influences dotted throughout his music and they're usually always playful. So far he has released music most prominently through his own EXO Recordings label, however he has also appeared on Unknown To The Unknown. Ludwig is one of the only people known to have played ATB's 'Til I Come' during a Boiler Room session and for that we very much salute him. Who knows what the hell this mix holds in store but we bet it's bloody brilliant.

Based in Glasgow, Nightwave is the musical guise of Maya Medvesek - a singular producer, dj and artist with a great deal of energy and drive. For many years she has worked tirelessly establishing herself as one of the most forward thinking dj's in the city and as such has gone on to international praise and acclaim. Her own musical output has been featured by a number of record labels which include the likes of A-Trak's Fools Gold, Dext Recordings, Musar, Unknown To The Unknown and Neutralizer. She has also worked alongside a number of hugely influential women on two EP's which have been released in line with International Women's Day. In the booth Maya draws for the heat, often playing broadly across a collection of genres and styles. However, her love for all things Dance Mania and the affiliated have not gone amiss and when those records leave the bag things go bang. Trust us.

 This week we welcome Manchester native Ruf Dug to Solid Steel, owner of the appointment-only record store Hi Tackle and label-boss of Ruf Kutz. His releases have also appeared on labels like Unknown To The Unknown, Music For Dreams, Klasse Wrecks and Tusk Wax. With music from Omar-S, Martini Bros, DJ Duke and John Tejada in his mix, he told us; "I recorded this mix at my studio on a Tuesday morning - it’s 100% vinyl for no other reason than I couldn’t get into the room with the CDJs in it (must improve biometric hacking techniques). I figured well fuck it then I’ll just play out of my bag like it’s a gig. My record bag is a continual work in progress; I very rarely empty it out and start over so it’s constantly evolving - some things haven’t left literally for years. I just did a reasonably large refresh after the festivals so it’s a little newer to me than normal. The mix was gonna be longer but the Glowing Palms tune ended sooner than I expected and it seemed like a good point to stop; sometimes u gotta let fate make the big decisions. Biggups mashups & minimal, the world is ready to forgive u. All my love to my incredibly understanding wife Louise, my beautiful son Larry and my beautiful home Manchester." In Hour 2 it's Brame & Hamo from Sligo, Ireland and currently based in Berlin, who have expertly produced some of the most effortless house music of the last few years via their first imprint Splendor & Squalour. In 2017 they launched their eponymous second label with the Trants EP to critical acclaim.
