Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Williams alongside Patrick Tyrant and Marlon From Spurs Kings TV as Wolverhampton Wanderers moved closer to Premier League safety and heaped more misery on Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou with victory at Molineux. Postecoglou made six changes to the Spurs side that drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League quarter-final first-leg tie, before a second meeting on Thursday that could shape his future. Wolves cashed in with a crucial win that moved them up to 16th place and 14 points clear of the bottom three with six games left. Vitor Pereira's side were on the way to a fourth straight top-flight victory for the first time since January 1972 inside two minutes when Rayan Ait-Nouri scored after latching on to Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario's punched clearance on the edge of the area.Wolves doubled their advantage seven minutes before half-time in a moment of high farce, with keeper Vicario pushing Marshall Munetsi's header on to backtracking defender Djed Spence and into his own net. Spurs pulled one back just before the hour mark when Mathys Tel bundled home at the far post after Wolves defender Nelson Semedo made a mess of clearing Brennan Johnson's cross. But Wolves restored their two-goal lead five minutes later when the excellent Ait-Nouri beat Cristian Romero far too easily before crossing for Jorgen Strand Larsen to complete the formalities with a simple finish and scoring for a fourth successive game.Substitute Richarlison gave Spurs brief hope four minutes from time when he bundled home after Wolves keeper Jose Sa touched Romero's header on to the bar. But there was more drama as substitute Matheus Cunha, on for Ait-Nouri after serving a four-match suspension, confirmed 15th-placed Tottenham's 17th league loss this season when Lucas Bergvall lost possession and the Brazilian raced clear and finished calmly. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Adam Osper, Patrick Tyrant and Marlon via Spurs Kings TV as Tottenham must beat AZ next week to keep their faint silverware hopes alive after Lucas Bergvall's freak own goal gave the Dutch side a 1-0 lead in their Europa League last-16 tie. Despite resting Heung-Min Son and Djed Spence in their last game against Manchester City eight days ago, Spurs' freshness did little to help them as their hosts dominated from start to finish and were unfortunate not to win by a greater margin. AZ, who are sixth in the Dutch Eredivisie, were deserved victors and could have won by more. Their biggest chance to score a goal themselves came when Troy Parrott, who left Spurs for £6.7m in the summer, was sent through on goal but denied by the foot of Vicario. Lucas Bergvall was unfortunate to score the own goal when Parrott played a ball across and the Tottenham midfielder badly sliced his clearance which Djed Spence was unable to head off the line. Spurs' only registered shot on target was probably not even a shot - with Wilson Odobert's cross palmed away. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Compère Richard Cracknell and Actors Ricky J Norwood and Darren Hartman as Eighteen-year-old Lucas Bergvall's first goal for Tottenham has given his side a precious 1-0 lead to take to Anfield in their Carabao Cup semi-final with Liverpool. For Ange Postecoglou and his group, this could be a huge moment in their development. Spurs went into the tie already badly depleted and with new signing Antonin Kinsky thrown in for his debut in goal. They then lost Rodrigo Bentancur to a worrying first-half injury which saw the midfielder stretchered off and then taken to hospital. He later posted a positive update on social media, saying 'All good'. But with Kinsky impressing in his first game, including a sharp save in second-half stoppage time to deny Darwin Nunez, Spurs were able to limit an off-colour Liverpool. They could have been ahead earlier, too, with Pedro Porro seeing a shot blocked and then chipping wide when Bergvall caught Alisson in possession. However, Radu Dragusin was needed to block Trent Alexander-Arnold's fierce shot on the line. While Spurs celebrated what they will hope to be a turning point after a four-game winless run, Slot's side have made a sluggish start to the New Year, first dropping points at home to Manchester United in the Premier League and now they leave London with an uphill battle to turn around this tie in the second leg on Thursday February 6. Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night in the opening leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie. A solitary strike from Lucas Bergvall four minutes from the end of normal time settled the affair at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leaving the hosts holding a slender advantage ahead of the Anfield return on the 6th of February. Coming up in this podcast, Arne Slot and Conor Bradley reflect on a frustrating night in the capital. Former Red Jason McAteer and LFC Women defender Gemma Bonner joined Becky Davis in the studio for LFCTV's post-match show. We were also joined by our fan panel contributors, Gareth Roberts, Ryan Paton, and Padraig Byrne from the Wexford Official LFC Supporters' Club, joined us remotely to give their thoughts on Liverpool's victory.
Marcus and Dan react to Wednesday's outstanding 1-0 win over Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final first leg, sealed by Lucas Bergvall's first goal for the club. The night got off to a grim start with Rodrigo Bentancur's injury but Spurs kept their composure to edge ahead in the tie, thanks to brilliant displays by Bergvall, Archie Gray, Dominic Solanke, Djed Spence and, of course, debutant Antonin Kinsky.

Did anyone expect Spurs to play really mature, sensible football and beat Liverpool without conceding a goal? This was a very impressive display from them, though the referee's decision not to dismiss Lucas Bergvall may have been more important than his dalliance with the tannoy… Julian Lopetegui has been put out of his misery at West Ham. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Williams, TV Producer/Director/Writer Simon Yemaine and Marlon Via Spurs Kings TV as Alexander Isak continued his magnificent scoring run as Newcastle came from behind to inflict another home defeat on Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham and stretch their winning run in all competitions to six matches. The visitors came into Saturday's Premier League game in scintillating form but fell behind after just three minutes when Pedro Porro's in-swinging delivery was headed in by Dominic Solanke. However, Anthony Gordon restored parity two minutes later, firing low past Spurs' debutant goalkeeper Brandon Austin into the far corner in front of watching England manager Thomas Tuchel. Spurs were adamant Joelinton should have been penalised for handball in the build-up to Gordon's goal, but the officials deemed that the contact with Lucas Bergvall's pass was accidental and that the Brazilian's arm was in a natural position. Isak dragged a Jacob Murphy cross off target shortly after the half-hour mark but made no mistake from a similar position moments later, slotting home after Radu Dragusin had deflected another Murphy delivery into his path. The Swede becomes the third Newcastle player to score in seven consecutive Premier League matches, after Alan Shearer in 1996 and Joe Willock in 2021. Tottenham improved after the break and almost equalised 10 minutes into the second half, but Brennan Johnson struck the woodwork from the tightest of angles after Martin Dubravka had kept out Pape Sarr's effort from outside the box. Second-half substitute James Maddison curled an effort narrowly wide of the far post and Sergio Reguilon lashed a shot off target late on, but there was no way back for Spurs as Postecoglou's team slumped to a fifth home league defeat of the campaign. In his first start for Spurs this season after injury trouble, the Brazilian briefly argued with James Maddison about who should take the penalty after Maxim Dekker had kicked out at Lucas Bergvall in the box. Captain Maddison relinquished the responsibility and Richarlison confidently sent the ball straight down the middle to hand Tottenham the decisive goal in the 53rd minute.
