We spend our 50th episode (the last of this season) with communication theorist Amit Pinchevski. Amit's recent book Echo (MIT Press) explores its topic through mythology, etymology, history, technology, and philosophy. The book challenges the notion that echo is mere repetition. Instead, Pinchevski argues, echo is a generative medium that creatively expresses our relations to others and the world around us. Just as a baby first learns to speak by repeating the sounds of others, a philosophy of echoes reminds us that our own agency and creativity reside in repetitions that respond to the past. For our Patreon members we the full two-hour conversation with Amit's “What's Good” segment. Join at patreon.com/phantompower. Amit Pinchevski is Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests are in theory and philosophy of communication and media, focusing specifically on the ethical aspects of the limits of communication; media witnessing, memory and trauma; and pathologies of communication and their construction. He is the author of By Way of Interruption: Levinas and the Ethics of Communication (Duquesne UP, 2005), Transmitted Wounds: Media and the Mediation of Trauma (Oxford UP, 2019), and Echo (MIT Press, 2022). He is co-editor of Media Witnessing: Testimony in the Age of Mass Communication (with P. Frosh; Palgrave, 2009) and Ethics of Media (with N. Couldry and M. Madianou; Palgrave, 2013). His work has appeared in academic journals such as Critical Inquiry, Philosophy and Rhetoric, Cultural Critique, Cultural Studies, Public Culture, New Media & Society, and Theory, Culture & Society. You know, when the board meets, you put on your board hat and you think of it as a board member on a day-to-day basis. You're thinking of it as a family, a family employee. You're both a family member and an employee.""Make sure that the agenda is clear. What hat you're wearing and what type of topics and issues you are talking about during that meeting.""Both generations need to be moving together in this process... Frosh.

It's only one week into the season and so far, pretty good for the red legs…..4 wins in 6 games. While not earth-shattering, consider the fact that the team has not had a wining record over the first month of the season since 2013…… two years ago, they were 3-22. So how about we play, the good , the bad and the ugly. The good….. Frankie Montas. Through two starts he's been everything you'd ever want…. Throwing strikes, being pitch efficient and getting outs. He's pitched like a number one. The bad: The offensive starts for the entire team not named martini, steer or fraley. CES, Benson, Elly, candelario, stephenson. That's gotta change soon. THE UGLY: The defense. The reds starting pitching was awful last year. The bullpen was overused and ran out of steam. The reason they didn't make the playoffs was because of bad defense…number one factor. The defense stinks so far this year too. Granted, they are missing mcclain and friedl, but this is not a good defensive team. The team is back at it tonight as the new york mets come to town to open a three0-games series. The mets lost their first five games before finally winning yesterday, 2-1 over detroit. Jose Quintana, a lefthander starts for new york. Hunter greene is on the hill for cincinnati. The reds sit a full game behind first place pittsburgh and a half-game behind second place milwaukee in the nl Central. The womens final four is tonight in cleveland…. This is the kind of thing we miss out on by not having an arena. We lost out to cleveland for the republican convention four years ago…….now to THE LAND for a final four…..and lets be honest, there's zero contest when comparing the two downtowns….NUN. In the first game , undefeated south carolina will take on NC State at 7 o'clock. Then at 9, its Caitlin Clark and the Iowa hawkeyes against UConn. The title game is sunday afternoon on abc at 3 eastern. The men take center stage tomorrow out in Glendale, Arizona. Cinderella NC State, an 11 seed, face Purdue in one semi at 6:09. Then the nightcap features defending champion UConn against the crimson tide of alabama. The winners will meet Monday night. Broony James entering nba draft and the transfer portal at the same time. Frosh year interrupted by a cardiac condition which limited him to 19 minutes per game once he was cleared to play. Aveg 4 and 2 . Duquense? Ohio State? FCC hosts the new york Bulls saturday night at TQL Stadium.

In this episode of College Golf Talk, Steve Burkowski and Brentley Romine have a ton of results to get to. On the women's side, Arizona State wins the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, which was tightly contested on both the team and individual leaderboards. Wake Forest is banged up, too, but the Deacs still moved to No. 1 – even after Stanford won a tournament. Though as Brentley points out, it's likely due to an input error. The rankings issues persist throughout the episode, including during the Cabo portion, where Michael Thorbjornsen of Stanford is now No. 3 after his win in Mexico. The Arizona State men bounce back, Vandy struggles, and down in Pinehurst, Auburn flexes its muscles as perhaps the best team in the country right now. Brentley then sits down with Tigers freshman Jackson Koivun, who has an argument as not only the best freshman in college golf but also best player.
Colts must do three things to put themselves in a position to win the AFC South next year - and keeping Pittman is at the top of the list. TDAgiantslayer@gmail.com Brought to you by wellbuiltbody.com 97X PODBEAN Apple Podcast A week ago my friend sent me a video of his Frosh daughter, never in a sport in her life… and she cleaned up in the relay race… she was behind a good 25 yards… God likes to show off… Eph. 2:4-7 4 But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Why Did Danny send me a video of his daughter? He was proud of her. Why do I show people pictures of my son who is an aspiring bodybuilder? I am proud of him. Why do I show pictures of my grandkids? Why do i share sermons from my father? Why do I brag about my wife's cooking? I AM PROUD OF THEM… Now if you really knew my son, my grandkids, my dad and my wife…. you might say… haven't these people let you down? Yep Haven't they hurt you? Yep Haven't they messed up? Yep But I show them off because i love them and my faith in who they are becoming is based on Gods word. What does that mean… it means I brag not on your spotless record… because it is not spotless, Rather I brag on you to show off how amazing my love. and in reality, me showing you off knowing your messed up record and reputation shows just how great my love is! Ever see a horrible, vile person, just disgusting in action and deed, truly a dark and evil human… and they are in court facing trial for their actions… and in that courtroom there are many who want the worst for that person (and not saying they don't deserve it) But you will many times see one person crying over them… its mom. Her love stands no bound. Her love remembers her little boy, her love mourns the boy he was meant to be… she is not ashamed of her love for him. In our sin God still loves us… and in fact when we accept his forgiveness and make him Lord of our life… he wants to show us off to prove his power, and love. He wants to show me, my life, my past, my future… he wants to show everything about me to prove just how powerful his love is, just how powerful the cross is… I was just asked by a young man what he should do if he messes up and people are watching… maybe even making fun of him or condemning him… I told him to absolutely admit he sinned, but then let these people know how thankful he is that God still forgives and loves him. God wants to show you off… is that hard to understand? maybe because you think it has to do with what you did, how well you are, by your track record - nothing could be more far from the truth. He wants to show us off because he wants the glory, he wants the attention, he wants the worship. What if we changed our witnessing strategy to simply this… Hey I gave my life to Christ and it is so much better… but I still sin, I still mess up, I still act hypocritical…. and he still loves me. What an amazing God I serve.

Joining Tom now is Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh. After serving in the Maryland House of Delegates for eight years and the Maryland Senate for 20 years, he was elected to be the state's chief legal officer in 2014, the same year that Gov. Larry Hogan was elected governor. Frosh, a Democrat, has not always seen eye-to-eye with the governor, and just a couple of months ago, he was involved in a public dispute with the Baltimore State's Attorney, Marilyn Mosby, a fellow Democrat. Next month, he will retire at the end of this, his second term. He'll be succeeded by Congressman Anthony Brown, who won election as Attorney General by a wide margin in November. As Attorney General Frosh leaves office, we've invited him to the show today to reflect on his tenure in office. The guys dive deep into some overlooked freshman in this year's draft and what about their pre-college tape still makes them viable draft candidates
Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher unloaded on Alabama coach Nick Saban on Thursday and his comments took the college football world by storm. Is the Morning 5 here for it? You had better believe it. Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle to talk a lot about the Fisher-Saban feud, including of course the hilarity of it, but also whether both men were actually speaking the truth. Bottom line? If you like dramatic movies or soap operas, your favorite one pales in comparison to what we saw yesterday. Also on the docket, which true freshmen can help Ohio State this season? There won't be nearly as many true frosh that play in 2022 compared to 2021, but a few will need to round out the two deep and perhaps step up if injuries arise. Who are 10 true freshmen in particular that we feel will not redshirt and will at least be able to contribute to the Buckeyes' championship-winning efforts this fall? We break it all down. All of that plus much more is coming your way on the Friday 5ish. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
