Two national experts overlooked WVU basketball in recent rankings. Shortly after the news broke that the NCAA Tournament field would officially be expanding to 76 teams, ESPN's Joe Lunardi released an early Bracketology prediction. Surprisingly, WVU basketball was not included. Couz gives his thoughts on that.CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein also omitted WVU men's basketball from his most recent. Live 45 preseason rankings. All of this on the heels of Ross Hodge having one of the best offseasons in Mountaineer basketball history. Are they trolling WVU fans? Did they just forget West Virginia exists? Couz talks about all of that in this episode. He also talks about the official reveal of the 2026 Player's Era Tournament that will take place this Fall in Las Vegas. West Virginia may face some tough, but exciting opponents in this event. Couz will explain the details and what it all means for WVU fans. ____________________________________________Sources:ESPN: https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/48701991/players-era-men-championships-expanding-24-teamshttps://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2027-march-madness-men-field-predictionsJon Rothstein at FanDuel: https://www.fanduel.com/research/jon-rothstein-45-2026-offseason-edition-college-basketball-rankings____________________________________________Get Your Tailgating Stuff HERE: http://victorytailgate.pxf.io/CouzCornholeCouz's Corner Merch Store: https://couz-shop.fourthwall.com/Join this channel to get access to perks:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGQsDxC1nVegCKqyoMKnL9w/joinOther Ways To contribute to the channel:Venmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/Justin-Walker-516PayPal: https://paypal.me/couzscorner?country.x=US&locale.x=en_USFanatics link: http://fanatics.93n6tx.net/eKxbVrSubscribe: https://youtube.com/c/CouzsCornerSportsSocials:Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/couzwalkerTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@couzscorner?Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/couzscorner206/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Couzs-Corner-113327741384316This channel is dedicated to covering college football, with a big focus on the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Big 12 Conference. With 87 overall picks, the Southeastern Conference had the most overall NFL Draft selections for the 20th straight season. The 87 selections are the most ever for any league, as well. The other Power Conferences: Big Ten - 68, ACC - 38, Big 12 - 38, Notre Dame - 6 Without the National Championship, does this feel the same? Does it also feel a bit different because the Big Ten had more than the SEC in Round One? The Alabama Crimson Tide has landed the top quarterback prospect of the 2027 class in Baton Rouge five star Elijah Haven. That makes three consecutive Top 5 quarterbacks the Kalen DeBoer staff has landed in Tuscaloosa. What does that say about his recruiting ability at that position? Another sign that college football is fast becoming the NFL's minor leagues. We look at the conference haves and have nots. Bowl ties going away? New assistants in college football making big impacts The Auburn Tigers visit the Alabama Crimson Tide Tomorrow in the final SEC regular season game. The importance of a win for Auburn Basketball can't be overstated. The Tigers are in desperate need of resume helping wins and Alabama would be a Q1 win for the Tigers and a potential “ticket puncher”. For Alabama Basketball, it is now all about seeding. The Tide is locked into a SEC Tournament Double Bye and can lock the 2-Seed in Nashville with a win. They can also continue to build their NCAA Tournament seeding with most projections having Alabama as a 4-Seed with an outside shot of reaching a 3-Seed. Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology The Alabama Crimson Tide is coming off their road win at The Tennessee Volunteers and now must follow it up with a road win at the Georgia Bulldogs where Alabama Basketball is favored by 1.5 points. With a win, Alabama locks up second place in the SEC The Crimson Tide (12-4) holds the tie breakout over Arkansas Basketball and is two games clear of the next group at 10-6 so, a tie would favor Alabama. The United States Men's Hockey team won gold for only the third time in Winter Olympics history Sunday. The 2-1 OT win caps an incredible Olympics for the US men's and women's teams. The Auburn Tigers found themselves on Joe Lunardi's NCAA Tournament cut line Saturday morning, that was one of the stories leading into their game with the Kentucky Wildcats, making it feel even more impactful. Auburn Basketball fought from behind in the second half to secure a 75-74 win and break a five game losing skid. The game was not without controversy on both sides as Kentucky Basketball was the beneficiary of two questionable fouls at the end of the first half while Auburn benefited from a call at the end of the game. It was the final call that had Mark Pope steaming after his news conference. The Alabama Crimson Tide got a 90-83 road win at LSU Saturday. Alabama Basketball had five players in double figures en route to the win. This came on the heels of Alabama being left out of the NCAA selection committee's top 16 teams. Committee co-chair Martin Newton indicated Alabama and Arkansas are just on the outside looking in. The NCAA Selection Committee released their Top 16 seeds just before Saturday's games. Only Florida and Vanderbilt were an-momma the 16, yet KenPom has the SEC still rated as the best conference in the nation. Which is more accurate?
