Alexander Amartei is the producer of 'Antara', a Hollywood epic that is the first major movie in history to be funded via NFTs. The Antara Movie NFT by Arabian Camels has ushered in a new paradigm shift that is setting a whole new culture in the world of Hollywood, finance, NFTs and DeFi.Questions:Let's talk about that paradigm shift!Starting with Hollywood and the making of a movie, can you share the difference between the classical model of making a movie and the NFT model. And would this be considered fractional NFT's?Will this provide both democratization, making it available to all, and decentralization, making it accessible to all? And possibly explain DeFi here too!I believe the magic is in the utility and the roadmaps for projects. How did you build out these features and perks? According to your road map, you have utilities like Ferrari's and gold bars, how are you able to do this? Are you single-handedly building the Discord community and fundraising? What measures are you taking for those not interested in discordWill you be acting in the movie as I noticed from your profile you love fencing, horses and horseback archery?Left field question: Could an AI model replicate your movements and have it played out in the movie?Character development, hero, victory and poetry is discussed. Influencers and A-ListersSpeed of innovation and cost of creating a movie. Is there a goal date to begin production? And will you only begin once all NFT's have been sold?Website for Antara MovieTwitter for Antara Movie Instagram for Antara Movie NFTDiscord for Antara Movie Holly Shannon's WebsiteZero To Podcast on AmazonHolly Shannon, LinkedinHolly Shannon, InstagramHolly Shannon, Clubhousehttps://youtu.be/PKCND4FqGLc#hollywood #nftmovie #movie #community #metaverse #epic #discord #hollywood #producers #character #poetry #film #model #money #era #democratization #antara #defi #arabiancamels #nfts #nft #nftart #cryptocurrency #blockchain #metaverse #culturefactor #web3 #smartcontracts #nftartist #nftcollectors #eth #ethereum #youtubers #tiktok #instagram #branding #bitcoin #web3 #smartcontracts #bitcoin #community #decentralizedeconomy

The Middle East Film Festival 2021 taking place from 19 February to 3 March 2021 at the Shaw KinoLounge, is presented by the Middle East Institute at the National University of Singapore and supported by the Singapore Film Society. Director Foreword What is a film? A story. An event. A set of moving images. The sound of a train. An eavesdropped conversation. Recorded on camera. Screened in a cinema. Shown on television. Streamed via the Internet. Movies are the window into our humanity. And they are a respite, though brief, from the challenges of navigating an increasingly complex world. Each story told, each event recalled, allows us into a world that might mirror the one we live in or looks nothing like our own everyday. And yet something speaks to us through these films. Language and dress may differ but hopes and dreams seem somehow familiar. We are placed in situations we may never have to face. As the stories unfold, we find ourselves rooting for the main characters, willing them to find the solutions, the success or the peace that they seek. The films we have chosen for this year's Middle East Film Festival may sometimes be confronting, set against backdrops of family and expectation, harsh landscape, or tumultuous social change. But they each tell of the resilience of spirit, the unbowed soul. And unlike the grand scale, blockbuster films of Hollywood or even Bollywood, those from the Middle East focus more closely on individual struggles and society, giving us a more intimate look into their everyday and how they must navigate these hurdles. We hope you enjoy the films that the Middle East Institute at NUS has curated this year in partnership with the Singapore Film Society. Thank you again for joining us.
In 2013, inspired by the book Wines of Lebanon by Michael Karam, filmmakers Mark Johnston and Mark Ryan set out to change the perceptions of the Middle East – and in particular the tiny nation of Lebanon – by examining an enigmatic and misunderstood part of the world with winemakers who had a story to tell. Co-directors Johnston and Ryan released their first award-winning documentary The Invisible Front, but by then, they were already in Lebanon recording stories of courage, adventure and determination. There, they met Michael Karam, and two became three. Wine and War: The Untold Story of Wine in the Middle East tells the story that starts in the 2nd BC, when the Phoenicians, the ancient Lebanese, with their awesome trading empire gave the gift of wine to the then known world. They were the first wine merchants! In doing so, the Lebanese became the masters of crisis management, a skill personified by Lebanon’s winemakers who for thousands of years have gone about their work in war, famine, occupation and the constant hum of political instability. Co-directors Mark Ryan and Mark Johnston join us to talk about the amazing resilience of the Lebanese people and how wine is such a powerful thread in their shared history. It’s not been a good week for tech. Tesla’s taken a beating for everything from failing to meet customer demand to an AI-related fatality involving one of its vehicles. A self-driving Uber also killed a pedestrian. And Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is heading off to Washington to explain to Congress how and maybe why he destroyed Western Civilisation. It’s almost enough to make you think that all of this technology is out to get us. It isn’t, but we talk about why the recent run of bad tech headlines might be causing some people to think twice about the future. We also look at how much further tech stocks might fall, and the other companies that may yet still be embroiled in the ongoing data scandals. But for anyone looking to escape, don’t worry, you can go see the Middle East Film and Comic Con this weekend. Or if you need a quick laugh, you can join me and Ed in laughing at Sarah’s sunburn.
Our second episode of the Motoring Middle East Podcast, Shahzad and Imthishan are joined by Arafaat Ali Khan of ExtraCake PR and Events, talking about his eclectic collection of cool Hondas over the years including the super-rare (for Dubai, anyway) Honda NSX! We also talk about what it's like to organise regional motoring events (Hint: it's really difficult), something Arafaat knows all about since he puts together the amazing Middle East Film and Comic Con. What's the future of car meets of the region? We might have an answer....Apologies for the iffy sound: we're still figuring this stuff out!
