Jon Herold and Chris Paul open the Saturday show with the Los Angeles mayoral election slowly being stolen in plain sight, breaking down the New York Post video that tries to explain away helicopter ballot deliveries, six-day postal delays within the same state, and centralized ballot processing as mere quirky California inefficiency. Chris Paul dismantles the "incompetence not malevolence" framing live on air and makes the harder argument: no legitimate government can be formed if no election result is verifiable by anyone. The SAVE Act's chicken and egg problem gets illustrated perfectly by Elon Musk's own posts. Then NSPM 11 drops, revealing two classified directives nobody knew existed, with the AI national security memo prompting a sharp conversation about autonomous warfare and the surveillance implications of AI having access to everything. Trump's pardon of Steven Beyer gets a deep look: it is the only pardon this term where Trump publicly named every recommending official, all current or former elected representatives, and Jon makes the case he is deliberately putting congress members on blast for backing an insider trading conviction. The show closes on the CIA's David Rush, arrested with 303 gold bars, who built a fake continuity of government program inside the CIA while the Washington Post ties itself in knots insisting only five people knew about a program four of them just described to a reporter.

In this Friday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan tracks fresh Iranian missile attacks on US merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz, even as Washington and Tehran reportedly agree to a 60-day ceasefire extension. Bryan walks through the strange split-screen of war and optimism, with US stock markets hitting all-time highs and Southwest Airlines reporting strong consumer demand, while Trump's approval numbers still sag under the weight of the Iran conflict and lingering inflation. He also breaks down a chilling Reuters report that adversaries are buying US service members' digital exhaust on the open market, and delivers a scathing insider analysis of the David Rush case, the former CIA officer who allegedly conned the Agency out of $40 million in gold bars and cash, with Bryan tying it back to the CIA's broken recruitment philosophy of hiring C students. Plus, Bryan closes the week with a deep look at the Quantum Revolution, why Trump just steered $2 billion to IBM and others, and why whoever masters quantum computing first may end up master of the planet. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32 Keywords: Bryan Dean Wright, The Wright Report, Friday Headline Brief, Iran attack US ships, Strait of Hormuz, IRGC missile strike, Bandar Abbas, Iran ceasefire extension, US stock market highs, Southwest Airlines consumer demand, Trump approval rating, Benjamin Netanyahu, Gaza 70 percent, Israel Palestinian war, US service members targeted, digital exhaust, commercial data brokers, Pentagon Google Chrome warning, David Rush CIA fraud, CIA gold bars scandal, CIA recruitment failures, John Ratcliffe, CIA reform, Quantum Revolution, quantum computing, qubits, superposition, IBM quantum, Trump quantum investment, China quantum race, AI and quantum computing
Today's Headlines: Trump's Treasury appointees are pushing to put his face on a new $250 bill — the printing director who resisted was reassigned, Trump personally gave the artist edits, and the whole plan is technically illegal since living people have been banned from US currency since 1866. ProPublica revealed that the White House intervened to help Don Jr.'s venture firm secure a $620 million Pentagon loan for a rare earth startup called Vulcan Elements, pushed through by Peter Navarro with officials told to approve it at unusual speed because "the call came from the White House." The DOJ also opened an investigation into E. Jean Carroll — who won two civil cases against Trump and is owed over $80 million — over whether she committed perjury by not disclosing that a nonprofit covered some of her legal fees, because losing twice apparently wasn't enough. April's inflation came in at 3.3% — the highest since May 2023 — with personal income growth falling below the inflation rate and the savings rate dropping from 3.6% to 2.6%, meaning people are draining their savings to cover rising costs. Pam Bondi testified before the House Oversight Committee about the Epstein files coverup without being under oath, represented by a DOJ attorney from the same agency she led during the coverup, which rendered the whole exercise fairly decorative. On Iran, negotiators reportedly reached a 60-day memorandum of understanding to extend the ceasefire and open the Strait of Hormuz — though Trump hasn't approved it, Iran hasn't confirmed it, so "ceasefire" continues to be a creative use of the word. A former CIA officer was charged with stealing 300 gold bars worth $40 million, stashing them at home, and claiming work expenses — he also faked his entire résumé across three job applications over nine years and was somehow hired anyway, which raises some questions about the CIA. And Peter Thiel relocated his family to Argentina because he prefers Javier Milei's vibe and is worried about America's future — ok, Peter. CannCon and Alpha Warrior bring the Thursday show with Alpha fresh off his son's high school graduation and the news fully loaded. The DOJ opens a criminal perjury investigation into E. Jean Carroll over her deposition lie about Reid Hoffman funding her lawsuit, and Alpha argues the Chicago venue choice signals prosecutors from the original New York case may themselves become targets. Former CIA senior officer David Rush is charged with stealing 300 gold bars worth $40 million from a storage unit near his office, along with $2 million cash and 35 Rolexes, after lying about his credentials on three applications over 20 years. Alpha connects it to Operation Gladio-style black ops funding and says this is a much bigger story than most people recognize. Retired General Neil McCasklin vanishes after a dinner where a witness says he was not himself, and Alpha argues his voluntary disappearance into protective custody makes more sense than a kidnapping given the missing scientists pattern and his documented UFO clearance. Jill Biden tells CBS she thought the debate was a stroke, then the same clip shows her cheering Joe on afterward. Biden sues the DOJ to block his 2017 ghostwriter audio tapes. Alpha and CannCon lay out the full timeline: auto pen pardon challenge before the midterms, big arrests after.

Audits of the Biden administration's spending in 2024 alone show nearly $20 billion of taxpayer money literally thrown at pet projects - namely CHILD CARE. Nick Shirley and his whistleblower David break down part 2 of their expose on Minnesota fraud by digging into fake transportation services, all 1,200 of them. Gold is having a moment - trading above $4,000 just a few months after hitting $3,000.It's up by more than 50%t this year, on track for its best year since 1979. And volatility seems to be ticking higher too.Gold has long been viewed as a safe haven in times of uncertainty - and let's face it, there's a lot of that right now. But could that role be changing, and does crypto currency become a factor in it all?Host Kris McCusker speaks to Luis Seco - a professor in mathematics at the University of Toronto to get his take on what's happening, and whether it's too late to invest. Gold prices are up more than 40% this year, on track for their best year since 1979—when a global energy crisis fueled an inflationary shock that thrashed the world economy. And while it's a very different economy today, with stocks hitting record highs on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, gold serves as a form of insurance for a diversified investor, particularly when facing risks such as inflation, government debt, war, and questions about the Federal Reserve's independence under President Trump. This week on our columnists roundtable, editor Alex Frangos and markets reporter Chelsey Dulaney are joined by senior markets columnist James Mackintosh and chief economics commentator Greg Ip to discuss what's driving a new rush to gold, how the yellow metal compares to Bitcoin as an inflation hedge and whether it's worth buying in, through the SPDR Gold Trust ETF or by picking up gold bars at Costco. Please enjoy this encore of Hacking Humans. On Hacking Humans, Dave Bittner, Joe Carrigan, and Maria Varmazis (also host of N2K's daily space podcast, T-Minus), are once again sharing the latest in social engineering scams, phishing schemes, and criminal exploits that are making headlines to help our audience become aware of what is out there. First we start off with some follow up, our hosts share some more information on VIN swapping, and a clarification on bank participation in FinCEN. Maria shares a telling tale about a Bethesda couple loosing $367,000 in gold bars to a sophisticated scam involving fake officials and elaborate deceptions, but a police sting led to the arrest of a suspect, highlighting a growing nationwide trend of elderly victims targeted by gold bar fraud. Joe's story comes from KnowBe4 and is on DavidB, their VP of Asia Pacific, thwarting a sophisticated social engineering attack via WhatsApp by recognizing inconsistencies in the impersonator's behavior and verifying directly with the colleague they claimed to be. Dave's story comes from the FBI on how criminals are exploiting generative AI to enhance fraud schemes, including using AI-generated text, images, audio, and video to create convincing social engineering attacks, phishing scams, and identity fraud, while offering tips to protect against these threats. Our catch of the day comes from a listener who received an urgent email from someone claiming to be an FBI agent with a rather dramatic tale about intercepted consignment boxes, missing documents, and a ticking clock—but let's just say this "agent" might need some better training in both law enforcement and grammar. Bob Menendez will become the first Senator to go to prison in more than 40 years when he reports to federal penitentiary next week. Most of you will, no doubt, be aware of the broad strokes of his corruption and bribery case. You know, the gold bars and cash found in his suburban ranch house. But our home station, WNYC, has produced a podcast that tries to go deeper than much of the media coverage. So we're bringing you the first episode of Dead End: The Rise and Fall of Gold Bar Bob Menendez— hosted and reported by Nancy Solomon. On the Media is supported by listeners like you. Recently, the former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was sentenced to eleven years in prison for accepting bribes in cash and gold worth more than half a million dollars. He is the first person sentenced to prison for crimes committed in the Senate in more than forty years. Menendez did favors for the government of Egypt while he was the senior Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, and intervened in criminal cases against the businessmen who were bribing him. In New York, he broke down in tears before a federal judge, pleading for leniency. Upon emerging from the courtroom, he made a thinly veiled plea to the man he had once voted to impeach. “President Trump is right,” Menendez declared to news cameras. “This process is political, and it's corrupted to the core. I hope President Trump cleans up the cesspool and restores the integrity to the system.” WNYC's New Jersey reporter Nancy Solomon explores how the son of working-class immigrants from Cuba scaled the heights of American politics, and then fell dramatically. But will he serve the time? Solomon speaks with the constitutional-law professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy, who says, “It's hard to know who Trump will pardon next. One of the more recent pardons was for the former governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich. He was a Democrat. . . . [Trump] seems much more interested in undermining anti-corruption laws left, right, and center.”

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, aggregator sites like Drudge and Mediaite, often run by left-wing individuals, spin content from this show to create misleading headlines, such as claiming Levin is defying President Trump over his views on Putin, and Zelensky. This narrative is pseudo-news meant to provoke a nonexistent feud – it won't work. Later, Israel's Ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, called in and emphasized that Israel is engaged in a fight for its civilization. He revealed the grim news that Hamas had returned four bodies, with Hamas shamelessly rejoicing in the act. However, he clarified that the fourth body, Shiri Bibas, was not the mother's body but instead an unidentified one. These terrorists are monstrous. Also, Kash Patel has been confirmed as FBI Director. This marks a stark contrast to Trump's first term when Democrats stalled his nominees for months. Yet, despite not even stepping into the role, Patel is already facing Democrat attacks. Finally, the EPA discovered that the Biden administration awarded $2 billion to a Stacey Abrams-linked climate group. There needs to be a criminal investigation of this. None of this would have been uncovered if not for Trump. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin calls in to discuss these findings. The EPA found billions of dollars' worth of “Gold Bars.” Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
