Another stellar guest mix comes our way courtesy of loyal listener, Erwin Broers. He asked if I was interested in a mix of electronic music from Innovative Communication, the label founded by Klaus Schulze in the late 70s. Yes, please! Here's what Erwin says about this fantastic mix: "I was in my teens when I got in touch with Electronic Music by means of well-known artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Vangelis. Searching for more similar music in the local library, I came across an LP with on its sleeve just a mysterious picture of a huge radio telescope. The album was Robert Schroeder's "Galaxie Cygnus-A" ! Liner notes on the back of the sleeve explained that the music was commissioned by the Austrian Broadcasting Service (ÖRF) and performed live at the 1982 ARS Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria. The idea behind the project consisted of capturing sound waves coming from the Cygnus-A galaxy with the help of the Effelsberg 100 meter radio telescope, the largest fully steerable radio telescope in the world at that time. Schroeder used those sound waves as basis and inspiration, and created a magical soundtrack for stargazing and floating in outer space. Needless to say, I was blown away by this album, and from then on I fanatically sought out other releases on the Innovative Communication label, which - by the way - was founded in 1978 by the late Klaus Schulze, one of the godfathers of Electronic Music. To honour my memory of that exciting period, I chose to start this label retrospective with the first two tracks of this special album - including some of the white noise straight from space ! The mix is rather heterogeneous and gives a good impression of the kind of EM that was published on IC in its heydays, ie. the 80s. From the early 90s the label quickly became more commercial edging towards mellow new age and average electro-acoustic instrumental fusion (aka NAM)." Thanks, Erwin, for this trip back in time. Rubod & Stroudinsky, helmetgirl, mėlyna, Adrián Berenguer, Kraftwerk, Morus, Robert Schroeder, Ceramic, Edouard Ferlet, Mindmovie, Craig Padilla & Marvin Allen. We kick off this edition with Robert Schroeder's new release, ‘Into The Light', drifting away into dream worlds by letting yourself be beamed into other dimensions with space effects, mysterious spheres, deep strings and dreamy melodies. Erik Wollo returns with an assemblage of acoustic guitars. Erik says everything you hear is acoustic, with no synths used on the new album ‘Cloud Of Strings'. One musician who has graced our airwaves many times has been ELEON. His new album is a stunning atmospheric world of divine dimensions with guest musicians, including Grammy-nominated recording artist David Helpling. Polypores returns for his second album on the Din label with ‘Multizonal Mind scramble', a feast of modular textures and syncopated glitchy oscillators that swell and fade into strange sound worlds. On the female side, Lucy Claire produces a fusion of classical cinematic and world influences intertwined with bittersweet piano motifs. Now and again, we like to look back into the past, this time with Airsculpture's first album released in 1995, ‘Impossible Geometries'. In those days, this three-piece band's performances were 100% improvised, greatly influenced by Tangerine Dream of the 70s. The music we play is always governed by the new releases we receive, again a very varied selection, including the chill-out downtempo music of Thomas Lemmer, his unmistakable compositional signature sound. Relaxing symphonic scores of remixes from Stan Dart. On Winter Light Label, Rapoon & the duo Onasander & Ashtoreth give us ritualistic dark ambient & long form drones. Extremely dense and hypnotic sonic landscapes of Max Corbacho. Opening a portal to the universe in cosmic waves by Nova Stellaris, Natasha Barrett with a palette embracing musique concrete field recordings and electroacoustic music, & something we don't usually have, a single by Nattefrost with vocals from Toril Snyen from a forthcoming album. I’ve got to say this is one of our more melodic, sequential & tuneful edition, but not without a few more ambient tracks of ancient-modern sacred space music, and experimental complex sonic tapestries verging on the dark side. We like to welcome the musicians featured for the first time on Sequences. Icing Wolf with her great mix of 80's EM, ranging from Jarre to TD, another melodic release from Liam Boyle, on Waveforms. From Tucson Arizona, guitarist and composer John Gregorius. creates his own wonderful blend of guitar-based music. Shinjuku Thief, classic Gothic, Industrial, Electronic, Ambient masterpiece, paying homage to German expressionist film of the 1920′s and supernatural horror from the 1500′s. Lively and spirited new work from Masa Takumi incorporating ancient instruments like the shamisen and the koto, a stringed instrument that is the national instrument of his native Japan, with modern sounds. Off-key melodies and gentle analog from the days of old by Letters Of Mouse, rounding up with João Vairinhos who has become one of the dearest names in the Portuguese underground scene of dark intense ambient & drone music. The Vintage track comes from Robert Schroeder's first recording, Harmonic Decadence rejected in 1978, then went back into the studio where the well-known debut album, Harmonic Ascendant was created. Harmonic Decadence was finally released in 2017, as part of the D.M.O. series on Spheric Music. It was sad to hear that the co-founder of Kraftwerk, Florian Schneider passed away recently with cancer. Florian was multi-talented and played the synthesizer, vocoder, flute, and sax & is credited with the band taking electronic music mainstream. Gene and guest-co host Goggs Mackay interview Robert Schroeder, author of "Solving the UFO Enigma: How Modern Physics is Revealing the Technology of UFOs." So if UFOs are real an extraterrestrial, just how do they perform amazing stunts of maneuverability? What can we learn about advancing our own understanding of physics and possible propulsion systems for future spacecraft? It's going to be a fascinating journey to the frontiers of science. According to Robert: "I retired a few years ago from Hewlett-Packard after 26 years in operations and product management…I've done talks at Phoenix MUFON 2015; MUFON Symposium 2015, Irvine, Calif.; International UFO Congress 2014, Phoenix, Arizona, etc."

People are often skeptical about the UFO phenomenon but phenomenon but they shouldn't be. At least a subset of UFO reports of around 5 percent are from credible witnesses and frequently backed by hard data such as radar tapes or gun camera film. For example astronauts Gordon Cooper and Buzz Aldrin as well as Harvard astronomer Clyde Tombaugh have all publicly described their UFO sightings. But the interesting thing is that we may be on the threshold of understanding the technology of UFOs. In a nutshell it was once thought that the idea of extra dimensions was strictly the domain of science fiction. That has all changed in the last several decades as physicists appear to be closing in on a final ''theory of everything'' which suggests we may live in an eleven dimensional universe. These cutting edge theories are now being tested at the Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland. Among the theories being tested is one called Warped Geometry by a Harvard physicist which may allow for fast interstellar travel in the extra dimensions. Spectrographic data from actual UFO sightings would confirm if these craft are using technology we are now on the cusp of unraveling.

Robert Schroeder is the author of the book: Solving the UFO Enigma: How Modern Physics is Revealing the Technology of UFOs. In it, he explains how the technology behind the UFO phenomenon can now be explained by modern physics and by a close examination of the more credible UFO reports. The idea that a subset of all UFO reports represent advanced craft of extraterrestrial origin has been around for a long time. But only recently has the science of physics developed theories which, when correlated with selected UFO data, point directly toward a likely explanation of this alien technology. Our journey through aural space and time begins with Stephen Hawking's black hole warning from the new Eurock release, Analog Planetfall. Archie then offers up a sonic time capsule of German impressionist electronic music, with selections from Human Being (Live at the Zodiac 1968) and 2 new Conrad Schnitzler releases Kluster 2008 (with a K) and his new solo disc Windvogel. The segment concludes with excerpts off the brand new Cluster (with a C) album. It’s their first studio release in 14 years. Next up are "Taste It" and "Fruits of Fantasy" the two new projects by Robert Schroeder. They are followed by selections from 2 different and unique electronic works (Radiate) by Jeffrey Koepper and (Shade) by Parallel Worlds. In a more melodic, romantic mode, Archie features music from new discs by former Supersister front man Robert Jan Stips: "Rond" and "Was It Love?" The last musical segment of Eurock Live Podcast #13 features Germany's Embryo, world touring masters of ethnic fusion for over four decades. The program closes with a final selection by Doktor Bob from "Analog "Planetfall".
Archie's latest sonic tour blasts off with master guitarist Manuel Gottsching and bonus tracks from his newly remastered "Belle Alliance". Next travel through time with veteran U.S. space rocker Ian Tescee, with interludes from Io, Continua, Breathworks, and his 2008 Traveler's Guide to Mars. We then head back to Europe for more soaring sounds from 4 favorite Eurock artists. The U.K.'s David Wright returns with a selection from his latest, Dreams and Distant Moonlight, Robert Schroeder then serves up another tasty treat from his Food for Fantasy project - Fruits of Fantasy. Following up, Krautrockers, Electric Orange, go Floyd-in-space with their latest - Fleischwerk. We close with a rock-out cut from Live at Heart, the lastest concert album from Finland's Hidria Spacefolk.
