Madison Shipman, Blue Jays Central analyst, joins Jeff Blair and Kevin Barker to chat about how Toronto can carry over the momentum of last night's electric win. The trio take a closer look at Anthony Santander's clutch home run, Alan Roden at the plate, Jeff Hoffman's presence in high-leverage spots, the rise of Brendon Little, José Berríos' plan of attack tonight, and how to manage Andrés Giménez. Jeff and Kevin then open up the "Back Leg Line" to hear your questions and comments! Rob Bradford (27:45), Red Sox reporter for WEEI and host of the Baseball Isn't Boring podcast, chats about Aroldis Chapman's longevity as a closer, Wilyer Abreu's meteoric rise, and what to make of Triston Casas and Rafael Devers through the first month. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
Jeff Blair and Kevin Barker break down the Blue Jays' 3-1 win over the Braves to take the series in Toronto! They take your calls and texts, and get to Chris Bassitt carving up the Braves to the tune of 10 Ks - is this the best he's looked as a Jay, and could he be back in 2026? They discuss Vladimir Guerrero Jr. smashing his first home run of the season, ultimately driving in two of the three total runs on the day, and also chat about the bottom of the order continuing to come through. Plus, we hear from Bassitt, Vladdy Jr., and manager John Schneider. The Nats were routed 11-4 on Sunday afternoon in Miami for their 2nd straight defeat and it was their largest margin of loss so far this season. Al begins with MacKenzie Gore, who's pitching line saw four runs scored off of eight hits in six innings of work. Gore threw 105 pitches, another example of the lefty's pitch inefficiency.(05:40) Jorge Lopez & Lucas Sims combined to surrender seven runs, while only retiring the Marlins. Sims' ERA is up to 12.79 so far this season; he was a reliever that the team signed to a one year deal at the beginning of Spring Training.(07:40) Cole Henry was called up prior to the game and pitched the bottom of the 8th. Henry was originally a starter in their minor league system and is coming off of thoracic outlet syndrome surgery.(11:00) The Nats drew 20 walks this weekend and combined for eight of them on Sunday. James Wood walked three times in the loss and Alex Call had one in the leadoff role.(13:30) Dylan Crews did not play for a 2nd straight day in what seemed to be in favor of giving the at-bats to Call. His OPS thus far sits at .625.(15:00) Keibert Ruiz had an inexplicable base running gaffe in top of the 5th. Ruiz got thrown out trying to steal 3rd base with only out and the game tied, which killed the rally with the heart of the order up.(17:30) Washington faces Paul Skenes for the first time on Monday night in Pittsburgh.
The guys return to break down the series loss to Wake Forest. Why were the Seminoles unsuccessful? What to make of the weekend overall? Brett and Ariya discuss the continued struggles of the pitching staff and where they can improve. They also touch on the offensive struggles against the Demon Deacons as well as the electric environment Friday night that ended in Max Williams' walk off. They finish the show by putting into perspective the 2025 college baseball season around the country, why patience is important in a long season, and preview the rubber match at UF in Gainesville on Tuesday night (7 PM ET, ESPN2)
Brett and Ariya provide their instant reaction to FSU's 10-6 game three win over Miami, which claimed the Seminoles' first road series win.

The Nats came one out shy of winning the opening series of the season as they lost 6-5 on Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati. Mark (Live from Cincy) & Al recap the loss where a 5-3 lead with two outs in the 9th quickly turned into a Reds walk-off HR given up by Kyle Finnegan. (07:30) Trey Lipscomb homered in just his 2nd career game and continues to impress at 3B. (11:00) CJ Abrams also homered on Sunday, but Al takes issue with a decision for him to attempt a sacrifice bunt despite it working out. (20:00) Jake Irvin allowed 3 runs in 5 IP in his first start of the season. This leads to a discussion of what to expect from the rotation in early April. (25:00) The weather forecast this week in D.C. is not great for Opening Day and Monday could potentially be a long one at the ballpark if Tuesday's forecast does not improve. The Nats won 4-1 in Seattle to take the series and end their West Coast road trip with a winning record (4-2). Mark (Live from T-Mobile Park) & Al (He's Back!) revel in Patrick Corbin's stellar performance where he struck out 9 Mariners in 7 IP; without issuing any walks. This was especially clutch considering how short handed the bullpen availability was entering Wednesday afternoon. (11:00) Amos Willingham made his MLB debut in the 8th inning and immediately allowed a Solo HR. Willingham did settle down though to retire the next 3 batters before Hunter Harvey notched the Save. (17:00) The Nationals immediately led 3-0 as Jeimer Candelario and Keibert Ruiz each had RBI hits. Al points out how Candelario still has a real chance to make it to Seattle for the All Star Game. Ruiz was involved in a controversial call at Home Plate that led to Davey Martinez's immediate ejection. The hosts try to understand what Ruiz did wrong while trying to avoid the tag and poke holes into the logic of the overly complicated rule. (31:30) Jackson Rutledge, Starting Pitching prospect who was the franchise's 2019 1st Round Pick, has been promoted to AAA Rochester. Could he make his MLB debut this year? Riley Adams homered and came a triple shy of the cycle in a rare start behind the plate. (13:20) Ildemaro Vargas went deep while giving CJ Abrams a day off at short stop. He is hitting .333 in limited playing that time this season. Trade chip? Joey Meneses had 3 three as well on Sunday and his average up to .296. (17:00) Josiah Gray earned the "Curly W" despite issuing six walks in five innings of work. Gray did though only allow one Detroit run. (24:30) Kyle Finnegan was utilized in an unsual way on Sunday as he inherited a 6th inning jam. Mark explains all that went into Davey's decision to bring Finnegan in earlier than usual.
