Caffeinators, pack your bags and fasten your seatbelts. We're going to where the water spins backwards. We're headed back to the Southern Hemisphere, specifically New Zealand! We met a wonderful Kiwi at IVECCS last year, Ashleigh Walsh, at the AVECCTN pinning ceremony. When we learned she was there from New Zealand we knew we had to have her on as a guest. It took until THIS WEEK to figure out the logistics as she's 19 hours and 16 hours ahead of Jeff and Dave, respectively. What an awesome conversation! We learned some things that blew our minds-did you know New Zealand doesn't have snakes? We talked so much about what it looks like to become an RVN in New Zealand, the fact that Ashleigh is the FIRST VTS(ECC) there, the profession and so much more. This episode is so much fun. Whether you are a vet, vet nurse, RVN, allied veterinary professional or a pet owner, if there is only one episode of The Vetpodcast you ever listen to, please let it be this one. It is heart-breaking. I read with absolute despair that another of our veterinary colleagues have taken their own life – again! The statistics relating to suicide, and for that matter mental health in our profession are shocking. I make no apologies for repeating this podcast I posted a year or so ago, it is just so important. Not One More Vet! #NOMV

In popular understandings of the modern history of Vietnam we are familiar with Ho Chi Minh's anti-imperialism, but we know much less about the anticommunist nationalism of South Vietnam – officially the Republic of Vietnam (RVN). The RVN tends to be viewed as a creation of the French and later a “puppet” of the Americans. But as Nu-Anh Tran shows in her book, Disunion: Anticommunist Nationalism and the Making of the Republic of Vietnam (U Hawaii Press, 2022), the RVN was heir to a revolutionary tradition that developed out of the anti-French resistance, that was quite distinct from the communist one to the north. Although the many different political and religious factions in the south shared a fierce anticommunism, the RVN was plagued by disunity. And ironically, despite the democratic ideals that these groups claimed to advocate, the RVN was subject to authoritarian rule for most of its brief existence. Hi everyone, we are back with another episode of our fascinating podcast allowing you to get to know people working behind the scenes of the crypto industry. Today we catch up with the COO of a crypto company called Oneiro. They are the developers of ndau, the world's first adaptive cryptocurrency. Stay tuned to fully understand what that is all about. Welcome to the fiftieth episode of the Inside Crypto Podcast. This episode was recorded on March 24th 2022. John comes from a varied background and we touch on ndau as well as NFTs, their NFT forge, bitcoin, polygon and way too many topics to list in the show notes. This is a must listen and I really mean it! Before we get started, I would like to thank my employer Amun Tokens for making podcasts like this happen. Please don't forget to check us out and our products at tokens.amun.com. Thanks everyone for listening and don't forget to tune in next week where we interview someone else in the cryptocurrency universe. Topics Covered Today: So John, and you can correct me if I am wrong, we should start with Oneiro right? What is it? Maybe give us a timeline of ndau and Oneiro I saw on your LinkedIn that you used to work with RavenCoin. For miners like myself, they are the second choice after Ethereum. Why did you switch to Ndau after RavenCoin? Now let's talk about Ndau. I like the idea of a digital adaptive cryptocurrency? How does it work? Ndau also discourages speculation? Isn't that a bad thing? Isn't that how money is really made in crypto? So let's move onto the broader crypto market as a whole. With everything going on geopolitically what do you see happening in 2022? So ndau is a proof of stake currency. But as we talked about before, RVN is a proof of work cryptocurrency. Do you think POW is going to disappear? What do you think regular people should be doing with their money? Is crypto safe for them? How do we get more people into crypto? Lastly as much as I hate to bring it up every week, we have to talk about NFTs? What's your take on them, are they good for the crypto space? Ravencoin user and RVN Discord personality Vincent appears on the show to discuss his Medium paper on the RVN burn price to create assets. He is concerned that as the value of RVN increases with quantity demanded, that "the little guy" may be left out of asset creation. We discuss his concerns and I push back a little, bringing up how innovators in the asset space are developing ways to deal with that.
