It’s Q1 check up time! Yep - as promised this week’s podcast is dedicated to sitting down for a review of how this quarter has gone so far. And looking back on those Q1 plans you made at the end of last year, it’s time to see where you are as of today. In total, there are 3 places you and your business could be right now. You’re either doing: OK. You’re pretty much on target and by the end of the month you’ll have it all ticked off Really well. You’ve already completed and even exceeded your Q1 targets with this final month to go Not so well. You’re behind on your targets, and it’s getting really unlikely that you’ll hit them Wherever you are right now - it’s important not to panic or get carried away.
I don’t believe there is a “secret” to successful sales calls. But if there was one, it’d be pre-selling. Effective pre-selling is getting a potential client into a position where they’re at least 80% or more sold on working with you. They’ve been taken through the customer journey of Know → Like → Trust, and they’re pretty convinced. The only bit missing is the sales call :-) We’ve all been there on sales calls with people who haven’t completed the customer journey or still need more time and information. It can feel like an uphill struggle and be really demotivating. But pre-selling means those kinds of calls can be a thing of the past! “They said it would work...” “OK - but is it working for you?” I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had this exact conversation with my clients. Do we use scripts for the most important conversations in life? Of course we don’t. When we’re truly ourselves, we’re not following any script. My advice every time: If something doesn’t feel good, doesn’t feel congruent, or doesn’t feel like you… Then don’t do it. I speak about someone I worked with, who had this exact problem. He had invested money and time into sales training, which involved him using “proven” scripts, but despite following it to the word, he was getting no results. I walk through the process we followed to dig deep into what he was doing, why it wasn’t working for him, and what he needed to do instead! Happy Selling!

We had a chat about self defence and the importance of teaching both grappling for fun and for self defence.
