Today's podcast is a reading of my Quarter One review, which I also wrote up and published on Substack. You can read it here: https://open.substack.com/pub/mbest/p/quarter-one-2025-review?r=2c9gzu&utm_medium=ios . I dig into a lot of learnings, from personal experiences in my relationships to politics to the deepest parts of our existence, which I hope you find useful. Thanks for listening. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.
In this raw and real “Laying Bricks” episode, I pull back the curtain on Q1 of 2025—from launching the second round of Your Biggest Launch Ever to experimenting with podcast monetization. You'll hear why we hired alumni entrepreneurs as our sales team, how we ditched commissions and brought in pro trainers to level them up, and what that taught me about leadership and selling with heart.Plus, I share the big shifts I'm feeling in the business, the risks I'm taking, and what it looks like to play a bigger game this year. Here's an honest look at how I'm building the next version of my business—one brick at a time.Click >>PLAY>PLAY
Send us a textQuarter one of 2025 has vanished, and with it, 25% of your year. For mortgage brokers, this moment demands serious reflection: Are you where you expected to be?The exciting goals and fresh energy of January often fade without systematic review. Without a manager breathing down your neck, the responsibility for accountability falls squarely on your shoulders. This critical juncture offers the perfect opportunity to assess both business performance and personal growth trajectories before proceeding into Q2.A thorough business evaluation examines financial metrics (revenue targets, completed mortgages, average case sizes), lead generation effectiveness, client experience quality, time management efficiency, and marketing consistency. Equally important is your personal development assessment: Are those January habits still intact? How's your mindset? Have you invested in your professional growth? Are you maintaining work-life balance and protecting your wellbeing? The consequences of skipping this review are severe: another year of directionless drifting, repeated mistakes, and stunted growth. Conversely, taking time away from your desk—in a distraction-free environment during your peak mental hours—to honestly evaluate Q1 empowers you to make meaningful adjustments while nine months remain.Setting specific, measurable Q2 goals transforms vague aspirations into actionable plans. Replace "I want more clients" with "I will generate 20 qualified leads monthly through LinkedIn" to create clear targets with definitive success metrics and weekly action steps.Ready to ensure 2025 doesn't slip away? Book a discovery call at craigskelton.co.uk to discuss how targeted coaching can help you achieve your mortgage business goals. Remember, in this competitive industry, the most successful professionals aren't necessarily the most talented—they're the ones who consistently pause, reflect, adjust, and run their own race with intention. The Mortgage Broker Broadcast on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxXEaYQYmRFg4as3o6uafzq6WP3-omp4N Apple https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/mortgage-broker-broadcast/id1560964722 Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/3xmMdDcgmYh4A74wxeXnCV?si=cbc8f8b024fc4c98 Looking for one to one mentoring, visit my website to see how it works craigskelton.co.uk #mortgagebroker #mortgagebrokers #mortgagebrokeruk #mortgagebrokercoaching #coaching #mortgagebrokerage #mortgagebrokerbusiness #mortgagebrokermarketing ...

Tell me if you can relate to this…When I get obsessed with something, I start to see a new level of results. But I have to fully immerse myself into that ONE thing and give it my all.You see, being obsessed helps you narrow down your focus and allows you to dedicate more mental energy (and time) to make quicker progress. In this episode I'm spilling the tea on my latest obsession, what I've learned and realized in quarter one, and the most creative way I've ever pitched myself to be on a podcast. TIME > 4:54 "Looking back on Quarter One, I still feel too much time is spent on marketing and lead gen compared to planning, creating and continuing a top notch banging service for present clients. How would you approach finding a better balance?" TIME > 7:05 "Are there any jobs/bits of education you've had over the years outside of the fitness industry that have served you as a coach?" TIME > 9:33 "I'm getting close to being full for face to face PT, but still have a few enquiries coming in. I know how up and down business can be, and how quickly things can change. Where one month your smashing it, and the next a couple of clients drop off. The temptation is to strike whilst the iron's hot, take those people on and just "suck up" being over-busy in the short term, because I know people will leave eventually and I could be sat here in 2/3 months thinking about how I could do with those extra clients. Thoughts?" TIME > 12:17 "In a SGPT setting when I have total newbies, my longer standing clients get less attention - I know they are capable and can do it. In these situations how would you turn this into a positive with these older clients? TIME > 18:00 "Even though my IG is targeted for women why is it when I post stories like 'click the button to find out more' that only men tap it?" TIME > 19:30 "Thinking long term. How does one scale a business without having to be there all the time. I was thinking I can't be a pt forever as I'll get old but how would I secure my future where I'm looked after ♥️" TIME 23:54 > "How do you deal with clients who aren't getting results as quickly as you expected and clearly aren't fully adherent with the programme you agreed with them? It's easy to start questioning coaching ability." TIME > 26:57 "Both of you - If you were to start your career again tomorrow, what 3 things would you do differently? TB and Miranda are prepping Midlife is the Cat's Meow for launch and TB loves the cover. TB wonders how many hours she wastes whining, but how would she track it? Better yet, how would she nip it in the bud since it's a big part of her personality? In torture news, TB had her mammogram. Boo! Clare's book Hotshot is being prepared for showtime! Despite saying she'd never have an American in a book again, there's one in Hotshot and the US and UK English is driving Clare bonkers. While in France she worked every day, keeping London 9 ticking along. More importantly, she had a lovely time with her wife. They crash on to the topic: quarter one review. They haven't quite mastered the Druid calendar yet, but they managed to remember the first quarter came to a close on March 31. Ask yourself: How are things going? We've talked a lot lately about life, health, and deeper spiritual things, but today, let's talk about your business. It may seem like just yesterday that you were reflecting on your last year and planning out your goals for the year to come, but right now we're at the end of quarter one. There's plenty of the year still to go, but it's a great point to stop and ask yourself how things are going in your business. If you decided to make changes this year, how is that going? Is your business on the right path to achieving your goals? Are you tracking and planning your finances and taxes? Is it time to review your branding, services, or pricing? In this episode, I'm asking all of these questions and more to help guide you in really diving in to reflect on your business. It's a process that can sound overwhelming at first, but we'll be breaking it down in a way that feels simple, clear, and empowering. And if you realise that maybe you're not where you thought you were, that's ok. We all drop the ball on different things from time to time and have different focuses in life. But this is a little gentle reminder to lovingly pick up that part of your business and run with it so that you can get the most out of your year and build a business that flows just how you want it to.
