Good Karma Brands Founder & CEO Craig Karmazin joins Wisconsin's Midday News to announce that WTMJ and ESPN Madison will be the new home of the Wisconsin Badgers Women's Volleyball team beginning this fall. Karmazin goes into detail about the deal, how excited he is to partner with UW Athletics, and the success & growth of the team and women's sports as a whole.

Jim Rutledge and Chris Orr roll into Hour 2. Jim breaks the heart of romantic baseball fans like Primetime Wollersheim, who still holds out hope that UW Athletics can fund a baseball team with beer money from Camp Randall. Mark Tauscher joins the show, and talks with Jim and Chris about how the Badgers player leadership can turn things around over the final two regular-season games, and how important it is for the Packers to play to Jordan Love's strengths when fitting him into the offense. New Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff is in town this weekend to take in the California-Washington football game, and also to visit the Huskies as part of his 'getting to know you' tour. The visit is the 11th already for Kliavkoff, who has a history with the area. Kliavkoff spent 10 years from 1995-05 in Seattle working for Real Networks. It's the end of the week, so it's also a perfect opportunity for the guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - to delve into the latest issues surrounding UW Athletics and recruiting. And there's no bigger story right now than Michigan canceling their scheduled trip to Montlake in early September. The Big Ten announced Thursday they were eliminating all non-conference football games, so it not only affected the Michigan-Washington game, but the Ohio State-Oregon game. Will the Pac-12 follow suit, and if they do (which seems likely at this point), how will they go about salvaging the rest of the 2020 season if they can? They move from that story into recruiting, where they talk about one of Washington's latest verbal commitments - Renton's Siaosi Finau - and how tough it is to project a player without getting a chance to see much of them in games or off-season camps. Brandon Huffman and Greg Biggins made Washington recruiting fans happy with two recent crystal ball projections for the Huskies. Grinolds, Fetters, and Eklund talk about those two prospects - O'Dea's Owen Prentice and DB Vincent Nunley from Freedom High School in the Bay Area - as well as how those potential commits could impact not only the 2021 recruiting class, but the 2022 class as well. The conversation on racism in America is continuing and many around the country are asking questions about how to turn these words into meaningful action. A pair of Badgers, Madison Cone and Izayah Green-May, are continuing to lead the way on racial justice efforts among their peers at Wisconsin while working to take their impact beyond the program. Cone is representing UW on the newly-formed Big Ten Anti-Hate and Anti-Racism Coalition while Green-May has been tabbed to serve as president of the group Student-Athletes Equally Supporting Others (SAESO) within UW Athletics. They join Brian and Patrick to discuss their experiences, what Badgers of all stripes can do to further the movement for social justice and what it's like to be back in Madison with their football teammates for the first time in months.

Protests have taken hold around the world in the wake of the recent murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, events that have brought the role of systemic racism in America squarely into the spotlight and forced a much-needed examination of its effects — notably incidents of police brutality — on the black community. Kalvin Barrett (football) and Michael Jackson (men's basketball and track), both former UW student-athletes and both black men, join Brian and Patrick for an open and frank discussion on these issues and where we go from here, both culturally and as Badgers. A former police officer who now teaches criminal justice and police academy courses, Barrett brings unique perspective on the role of law enforcement. Now an associate athletic director at his alma mater, Jackson offers insight into how UW Athletics can make an impact, both on its student-athletes and the larger Badgers community.

Grinolds has been traveling and is now back from the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament, which was subsequently canceled, so we felt it was a good time to not only update everyone on the latest with the hoops team but also what is happening with regard to spring football and whether or not it's going to take place. This would be a time where the UW Football staff would be hosting recruits on campus, and they've done a bunch of that to date, but now all recruiting for all sports, on or off-campus, is suspended until mid-April, meaning even if spring football were to happen they couldn't host recruits for at least half of spring. Thank you, Iowa County, for Chuck Halverson. He grew up during the depression, a farm boy who dreamed of playing football on the gridiron at Camp Randall. His dream came true, but not without some hard times, twists and turns, and a world war to fight. He made the varsity football team, got married, raised a family, and started a successful business. Chuck is one of UW Athletics’ oldest surviving letter winners.

UW comes in with nearly an A+ class that rates #12 in star average. It would have been an A+ if they had landed Jeremiah Martin or another blue chip pass rusher. UW really needs Joe Tryon to breakout this year as a redshirt freshman. Why can't UW land blue chip pass rushers? The answer is a bit sensitive. Mike Hopkins is a great guy and a great basketball coach too. Dawg hoops could finish 11-7 in conference play. Huge turnaround from 2-16. Warren Buffet is a fucking hypocrite and Mike Salk thinks random NFL games are more important than UW Athletics. Terrific Q&A session- mostly due to the fantastic questions from listeners.
